Jimmy_Leppard
Sure, plenty of that kind of sommommomo bitches. First of all, now this thing has been happening to me since I was a kid, it's not happening that often to me now when I'm an adult, but it still happens quite often.. I keep seeing 22:22 on my clock when the night falls. (or to fellow Americans 22:22 means 10:22 pm.) Second weird thing which has been happening to me for a couple of years now is that whenever I drop my family members or friends to a parking lot and wait inside the car for them to come back, the first person that comes out of whatever the parking lot is for gets inside the car I'm parked next to. It can be a small parking lot with just a dozen parking spaces or it can be a gigantic parking lot with hundreds of parking spaces. If I park next to a car on a parking lot, in matter of 10 seconds at most, someone will get inside the car I'm parked next to. If the closest car to me is parked 2-3 parking spaces away from my parking space, the person will get inside that car too. Someone always gets inside the closest parked car to me. I stopped paying attention to it already. I'm more or less expecting someone to get inside the car next to mine when I park. I don't even know if, by this point, it's funny or really weird. Jimmy_Leppard
@NO F34R - I agree with your statements, interesting belief. However, number 2 or 22 (depends on how you look at it) is/are the number/s that have a stamp in my life. It's not just that I occasionally see 22:22 on my clock, as I said, plenty of sommommo bitches of that kind are present in my life.. To name a few, I was born at 2 am.. Throughout my whole school life, I have always been the 22nd student in the school class registry or whatever it's called.. Now, in college, registration number assigned to me is 2222.. etc. I think about that every once in a while, but very quickly I stop because I don't know what to think of it. Greetings fellow traveler! Ive been seeing 11:11 multiple times a day for going on 4 years now. Crazy sh*t! Have you ever explored numerology? Its pretty far out for most people, but ive discovered this reality is far more than meets the eye, and numbers/frequency/harmonics is everything. Here is what some think the significance of the number 2 is (and this sh*t is as old as Pythagoras) http://sacredscribesangelnumbers.blogspot.ca/2010/08/angel-numbers-number-sequences_2237.html?m=1 Let me know if any of this resonates. S0lo
As with oh so many things, i'd like to believe that there is a pattern in the chaos, a hidden plan for progress instead of all the plain sight random devastation. Patterns presuppose planing, a logically comprehensible greater scheme, and at times that would make it so much easier. Just... all of it. But there isn't. That's why prophets only ever become famous after the fact, because people can then interpret their writings according to what occurred. And on a serious note that struck way too close to home: for some people seeing patterns suddenly emerge everywhere as if the world was planned around their very self is the first onset of paranoid schizophrenia and thus the beginning of their demise in to a world so disconnected, strange and hostile that it will all too often lead to them ending it themselves. I lost a genius to insanity and a paragon of life to suicide due to this very illness. If only they would have been allowed to to stray through the bedlam with me forever. Its been going on for years now too, just like random urges to check my phone or whatever. Not sure what my mind finds significant in that number but it sees it persistently. Another thing thats been happening more and more often is I'll have a random thought come into my head and a moment later someone will bring it up. I used to always say "oh I was just thinking that" or something along those lines until it started happening so often that I just began keeping it to myself. I've been trying to figure out what causes it like maybe there's some words that sort of psychologically link to and trigger to other thoughts or maybe things have just become so bland they've become predictable.. whatever it is it can make conversations seem almost surreal at times, like it's all scripted.. it's interesting though. psymin

AnotherDave
To everybody who sees specific numbers or sequences of numbers regularly, I know the evidence can seem compelling; you see the same numbers often and all over the place. But just imagine how many numbers you see in any given day - clocks, phone numbers, the number of a bus, dates, bank statements, bills, receipts and so on. Probably hundreds of different combinations of numbers per day, if not more. If any one of those hundreds of combinations matches "your" numbers, you instantly see it as a match and it's remembered as yet another time that your numbers have presented themselves. But for every time that happens there are also many, many, many combinations of numbers that your brain completely ignores because they have no significance to you. This is the confirmation bias that I mentioned previously in action. Coin, Abel. and Mister Pink
Jehannum
Yeah, but when you see enough of them you realise they're just coincidences. It's just pattern-matching; one of the things that makes up intelligence. I see it as a teenage thing. Nowadays I don't even really notice that stuff. When you grow older you learn the universe doesn't revolve around you alone, just like you learn you aren't immortal. Mister Pink
Crazyeighties
I have a couple weird ones I used to be on a semi-professional cycling team we did one large race a year. In 2006 on the last day of the race I had my iPod playing I was just about to cross the Finnish line I did pretty well that year 99th out about 1000 people. (Being 15 and racing against people 2 or 3 times my age) anyway the song "Keep Me in Your Heart for a While" by Warren Zevon started to play, right after the song ended my cell phone rang. It was my grand Father telling me that my Grand Mother just died. I found it really weird that a song that is about remembering your loved ones alter they pass away. It gets even stranger so I kicked it into high gear and finished my race. Went to put my bike on my car and drive home. So on the way home more sad songs like "Angel, and I Will Remember You" by Sara McLachlan played while the iPod was on shuffle when the iPod 8,000 songs it felt really weird. The events got a little stranger. a year later I was doing the same cycling race and about a mile before I was to cross the Finnish line the same Warren Zevon song played on the iPod it was on shuffle and I had added a lot of music. Things get a little deeper a year after that my Grandfather, Mother and Myself wanted to remodel the basement of our house during demolition a set of plans falls from the ceiling (keep in mind our house is very clean we don't gave a bit of clutter) anyway the plans were drawn up my my grandmother a year before she never showed them to anyone. The plans she drew up matched the ones my Grandfather, mother and I drew together.

Nameless Foot Soldier
I'm a bit lost on to what it's called but if I remember right, there was something I researched a while back ago that was explaining why we have the certain number of body parts that we have and it was a universal law of numbers that all life builds on. It had something to do with how cells divide and the numerical system of how it works. So all you people talking about a real Matrix, life itself seems to run on mathematical logic just as computers. Tikhung
I love these threads. This one is one of the most freaky coincidences ever happened in my life. Back when Vsauce was making the 'What is Random?' video, I searched 'what is random' on Google 'cause I was bored. One of the result was his video, which he had only uploaded like few hours ago. Now I thought that was a big coincidence, I was wrong. Few days later, I was surfing some local message board (vozforums), some guy made a topic about weird coincidences that happen to him which he could not explain. One of the coincidences ever happened to him that he did just like me: He also randomly typed into google 'what is random', he was also stunned when Vsauce's video was one of the results; And just like me, he was also a Vsauce fan. Weird... QuackinAColdOne and psymin
Mister Pink
If any of you are really interested in coincidences I'd really advise you to listen to this superb episode of Radiolab on the subject... Even just the first act involving the girl that sent a balloon in the sky, 150 miles across England and it reaching another girl of similar age with the same name and same pet etc. It also attempts to debunk coincidences as simply, just coincidences... but I wont try ruin the party. Enjoy! http://www.radiolab.org/story/91684-stochasticity/ Speaking of number patterns etc. A woman conducted a test. She made two teams: Team A: Were going to flip a coin and write down whether it landed heads or tails. Team B: Were going to do this but no really flip it. Just write down the answers to make it look like they were doing it. The woman didn't know which team were was going to do the real job. Shown the results she was able to decipher which team was doing the real coin flipping. How? Team A got something like 6 tails in a row flipping the coin, really. Team B thought writing down tails or heads more that 4 or 5 times in a row would be unrealistic. Randomness and coincidence are interesting things. Voggs
I won my first and only PS2 I have with a milk brand, about 11 years ago, just had to collect some stickers on a paperboard and participate, I remember I just did it because... "why not", I wasn't even interested in a console or expecting to win but some day they called saying I won, it was aired on TV with me and another winner in a popular show. T'was pretty cool but I just started using it two years later, that's when I fully got into gaming. I guess that counts as a coincidence... the other kid won a TV set.
