I do agree with you, but the first point well, they are both cars. They are unique and can be classed as different cars. Yeah, there is no difference other than the roof type but that's all that's required to make them different cars.

My point is that, people would assume "cars" as many, instead of only two.

 

Same thing like "Weeks ahead". People think it means 2 or 3 weeks ahead, while 8 days can also considered as "Weeks ahead". 8 days is literally more than a week.
