Weapon banning based on Hosts preference

Recommended Posts

So I was wondering, in race creator you're able to select what cars from each category are/aren't allowed in a race. Why not bring that over to deathmatch creator? So there would be a 'weapons allowed' tab where creators choose what weapons are banned from a players' owned weapons stash and what are allowed. Not only would somebody have the choice to ban, let's say, assault rifles altogether but also have the ability to choose which AR is banned from the match.

I can't really remember the exact names of 'cars allowed' menu in the race creator but that's the gist of it.

Another idea is: When in a lobby, this option would then extend to the host being able to choose 'host preference + pickups/host preference only' whereby hosts are able to choose what weapons are banned from the DM.

Finally, if for example lowlevel players don't have the weapons that aren't banned they get a selection of one weapon whilst in the 'betting/ready to play' screen that only lasts in the duration of the DM.

This idea would also work in LTS/Capture game modes.

What do you guys think?

Ps: I'm just trying to think of a way to break the tedium of "forced + pickups" in DMs but at the same time not excluding low level players from enjoying the competition as well.

Forced + Pickups is absolutely fine for DM's as it allows the maps to be played how a creator designed them to be played. However, I like your idea as well and would like to see R* implement it in future.

Also, allowing in the creator to specify how much ammo you get when you pick up a certain weapon, would be particularly useful for captures/LTS modes. Sometimes the default ammo is too much (explosives) while other times not enough, and also it removes a clip if you have the weapon selected when you die, an infuriating and totally pointless feature added later on by the brainiacs at R* HQ. :-(

Ammo options for hosts/creators would be a great feature to add to creator, it's a shame that you have to use ammo from free roam in DMs which is crappy since you waste so much ammo during the process.

as said above the ability to remove bullet proof helmets, would be nice,

it removes all the annoying moments when squeakers think they have skill but have one over their head, or when high levels(as my 2 characters) use one.

id also like to add the ability to deny weapons that have certain attachments, for example Silencers(specially if lower levels don't have the weapon that is allowed, it should make it more even,(specially for me, i limit myself on silencers till i get the LSPD tint on that weapon)

or grips, if you believe it actually helps a whole lot,

in short^, it lets you remove the attachment temporarily for the match, or you can't use it during the match(cause silencers though it ain't big, it is a big advantage)

if it was about overall (T)Deathmatches, id add the ability to allow lester to be called or not, personally, i hate that the option is there

[i usually always prefer (t)deathmatchs on forced weapons+pickups, but ok with owned weapons, i had recently gone against, low levels on at the junk yard in ls, and one high level, though i could have pulled my higher level weapons, i stuck to my micro smg/assault riffle/sawed-off, while the higher level used what he wanted(yet they still got dominated by the lower levels in my team]

(just to note idk if this idea is old, but it has come to mind a long time ago, also new tints, like a transparent, or clear material instead of tint, that i had sent to R*'s email a year ago)
