Official Car Customization Advice Thread

Lets get back on topic now.

My Carbonizzare has looked like this for a long time. What rims and color should I put on it? Also, should I keep the spoiler?

umrMiOgkLkKAIh6OAiQhYg_0_0.jpg

I would keep a spoiler on it because they do add traction now, and the Carbonizzare can be a little squirrelly without it.

I would also keep the rims because they do have a strong resemblance to afterward wheels.

For my own Carbonizzare, I looked up the RGB code for Giallo Modena, one of the yellows that Ferrari uses, and set my private crew to that for just this car. I used carbon black for the wheel color, since black always goes well with yellow. Here's mine:

The yellow looks very nice but I decided to stick with the red.

I have two bits of advice for anyone wondering what colors would look, good on whatever car.

The first is to go to the GTA Wiki (http://gta.wikia.com/Main_Page) to find out what real-world car(s) the GTA car in question is based on. Then do some research on the IRL car and look at some photos, maybe do an image search on wikipedia. See what colors the IRL car comes in and see if anything strikes your fancy. If you see something you like, try to replicate it in LSC.

The second bit of advice is to search here for the "appreciation thread", just about every vehicle in the game has one, and there you will find people posting lots of photos of that car in various colors. Again, if you find something you like, try to make it in LSC.

Idk, I actually like finding my own colors for cars. I guess I just believe that GTA cars are their own thing. I don't ever look at a Vacca and call it a Lambo.

That, and maybe I have been around cars for soo long that I just know what looks good on most cars.

The rims on that Stallion seem great but if you want rims closer to the model you're basing it on, consider this

1973J.jpg

May look perfect after Chrome rims get added a week from now

I will see what they look like next week... Here's some better pics I just took yesterday

Saw the Vigero customization ideas on page 5, and was inspired when I finally got a Vigero after not having one for a long time.

Went for a modern look, anything I should change? I'm pretty happy with it, but wanted some opinions.

Nice Vigero. Kinda looks like it has a military theme. I personally would use no spoiler/different spoiler. That one just looks too narrow. To me.

That, and maybe I have been around cars for soo long that I just know what looks good on most cars.

My advice wasn't for people who already have a plan on how to paint their cars. My advice, as I stated quite clearly, was for anyone who was wondering what colors to paint a car.

I don't call any GTA cars by the names of their IRL inspirations, either. But some colors look better on certain cars than on other cars. You may know of a beautiful color, maybe you've seen it in a car, and decide to paint some other car in that color. But that other car, for some reason, just doesn't look good in that color. Now, the IRL inspiration for the GTA car is going to have a very similar basic shape and maybe general features as well, so chances are good that if a color looks good on the IRL car, it'll look good on the GTA car, too. That is the basis for my first bit of advice. As for the second, that's based on the fact that even though they may be similar, the IRL and GTA cars aren't the same and may be different enough that the same colors wnot look equally good on both. It's also based on the fact that not all IRL colors are available in LSC, so by looking at what other players have done with their cars, you can get a sense of what's possible.

So I don't have any pics, but I do have a question.

What is a good color to make a Monroe look more feminine? Tired of my plain red one. I also don't like it in anything with pink or purple. Any other colors are ok.

Any suggestions appreciated.

Try metallic candy red.

i would agree with Sgt, but in this case i would say go for a blueish silver color more like this.

spoiler is a matter of personal taste as well as it does help keep the rear in check a bit. people were always telling me the carbo looks best in Red, but most changed their minds about that after i showed them mine. lol

color is metallic Cast Iron Sliver with Diamond Blue pearl.

edit: got some shots with better lighting.

I've had my jeep sliver for a while, but the silver is starting to look bland for me. Any recommendations for something different, i might change the wheels to suit a new color.

I wouldn't mind it, but like I said, I was going for a modern look for this car. I have my Dukes as my muscle car with a classic look/muscle wheels.

In my opinion, you're not going to get a modern look with this car. Everything about this car shouts "classic", not "modern". The thin pillars, the thin chrome trim around the windows, the fender-mounted mirrors....everything.

I don't think the colors are going to matter much in making it look classic or modern, but if you're serious about going modern, I'd suggest going with a metallic plus pearlescent. Classic cars didn't have that, generally, and on my classic cars, I stick with single-layer classic colors.

Yeah, if you want a modern muscle car you're better off with the Dominator, other than that try the deepest paint with the brightest pearl, and shiniest rims.

yeah, i'm just talking about the paint really. if you prefer the restomod/modern look then you do it that way. i will admit most people choices in the way they do their vehicles are not to my liking, but a lot of people would say the same about mine. to each their own as they say. good luck finding the look you're going after. :beerhat:

edit, for not paying attention, @JRebbert. i do agree with what you are saying about keeping the paint traditional for the vehicles, but sometimes you have to use a metallic/pearl to get that look you want. like my Vigero, it is Anthracite Black metallic with Moss Brown pearl, rims are color matched Anthracite Black it gives me that Dark Champagne look that i want and frankly i feel it looks great on my traditional style Vigero. :beerhat:

@8up ohh okay, I didn't realize you meant the paint job. That's actually the one thing I'm really set on, but thank you for the input. I'm not going for any certain look, just based the "modern" stuff I mentioned from some Vigero I saw on page 5.

If you really want a modern muscle car, go for the Gauntlet or Dominator.

I'm going to redo my Tailgater soon, can't decide between these 2 wheels and these 4 colors.

Black, Graphite, Anthracite Black or Dark Silver?

Going for an executive look.

After giving it a lot of thought, I've decided to go with the stock wheels and to leave it red. I also removed the spoiler.

Definitely going for alloy, should end up looking like a newer version of this:

Depreciation will probably bring the 2003 A8 to my price range by the time I get a license.

Or maybe some copper if you're feeling fancy.

Love both of them. I think I'll go with the copper. I know i said that i didnt want any pink, but that salmon pink pearl makes it a real nice color. Reminds me of my grandfather's old Jaguar. It had almost the exact same color. Edited by theturtleman
