Which car is best suited to be a clown car?(not batman's Joker) You know the clown horn or the sad trumbon, with bright childish colors.

I'm thinking: BF Surfer, BF Bifta and maybe Benefactor Panto.

I put the Ghetto look on the stallion. Because, you know, Los Santos

Around 70k in paint alone

I have a vinyl top with the classic muscle car look (no pic)

Panto because it has the most customization options.

If someone would make a color guide to the save editor that would be the best...By this I mean a picture of every color in the files with a picture of a car in that color. I sadly have no guide making abilities...

I recently bought a Cognoscenti cabrio and went with a red, was thinking of like candy red or maybe wine red. I eventually did it blue

-snipped-

and...it looks good (to me). I dunno bout the wheels, I didn't want anything "sporty" but rather like a classy luxury type wheel and thought this was good. I dunno.. I saw top gear and they use a yellow Bentley when they go to Australia

-snipped-

so was thinking of going yellow (race yellow) but I dunno anyone got any ideas for better color or wheels? do they look ok?

Personally, I'd just leave it alone. The blue looks good on it, and those wheels are nice, although they are a bit over-used (which is because they are pretty nice of course).

I don't like bright colors like that yellow on cars like that, it really doesn't go with the luxury car thing in my opinion.

Cool thanks, really needed a second opinion. I did try the yellow as a preview and it didn't really look all that.

Leave that blue Cog alone, its beautiful.

Graphite/frost white pearl for an adder.

Midnight purple for an Elegy.

Thanks I was unsure on the colour at first I was gonna do midnight blue but went for dark blue (metallic) and pearl mariner blue I think for the shine..

Does anyone else ever properly research the real life counterpart(s) to the car they're modding and draw inspiration off the internet?

Yup, sometimes stock is the best way to go. I've got quite a few cars with stock rims, such as the Oracle 2, Alpha, Turismo R and Massacro (Race). Quite often the stock wheels fill the wheel arches better, or are chrome such as in the Schafter's case.

The Baller MKII is another example of vehicles with stock rims being by far the best looking option. I sure hope this chrome rim option is true. The Alpha's rims are so sexy I would never change them. My favorite ride in the game and the rims are part of the reason.

Anyone got any suggestions on the wheels? I'm liking the looks without white walls, but on the other side it fits quite good with the paintjob.

I like this thread, the people who give advice to others have good tastes :)

White walls are fine, but stick with stock rims or get a version without the spare tires on the side. It flares my OCD something fierce.

Which hotknife do you like most? and why

I love the Hotknife, but it's very hit or miss. With that said, I'm going to break these down and go critic mode for you. Take anything I say as just my opinions and advice, I'm not here to bash or hate.

First up:

bbyrAlNjo0uN7SR8dS-dTA_0_0.jpg

This is a very old car so stay away from the Metals paint category at all costs and change the top color to a Classic (or Metallic if you must) grey/silver color. Another reason you should do this is because of the rims. Your car is as dangerous to stare at in the afternoon as the sun itself, but the rims look like plastic on again, an 80 year old car. The rim selection, however, is great (one of the most acceptable choices), but it doesn't all blend together like it should. The last advice I have for this model is to either keep both the hood and the fenders, or chop them both off. Hoodless w/ fenders and fenderless w/ hood models look funny for lack of better words.

Round Two:

fQY_glyXWEeeN_3D8sNrgw_0_0.jpg

Beautiful. The best of the three. My only advice is to keep the vehicle's age in mind and change the rims to something more suitable.

And:

9PIi4j_CLEKO8u2vTK1x8Q_0_0.jpg

I don't like this one very much, but with a few touches here and there it can make a nice looking racer. Lose the hood and keep it fenderless. Personally, don't use custom tires.

The Cognoscenti is another car with nice stock rims, but I would recommend the Feroci RR in the Sports category. I have never been able to settle on a color for this car but blue is nice.

For a base, yes. Mainly for rims and color inspirations. But I like to make the cars "mine." Edited by oMass3y91

Yes, I've seen some threads about it and I may try to find them too.

It makes customization a little smoother to plan, that's for sure. I usually start by finding real car company color charts and go from there.

Like for example on my ruiner I took inspiration of some pictures of 240SX's:

I like how you have the diamond rims. Makes it look 10 times more ghetto :D

Should I change anything on my Infernus? I went for the Diablo paint job back in 2013 and kept it like that ever since.

Here's an old PS3 picture of it.

The spoilerless version looks great in dark colors, I made mine wine red and waiting on chrome rims.

a few of us do, it's pretty easy to find accurate paint charts and then match IRL colors.

I agree, this car is from the 1920's, why would you put modern wide tires on a classic car like this.

Here is how it should be done, nice and simple.

I agree with the Roosevelt, but to counter your statement, "Why would you put wide tires on a classic car like this". Hot rod bro.

001.jpg

Of course, we can't build a car like that in game, but yeah, that is why someone would put wide tires on a '20s model car.

True I forgot that, but that is once it is chopped tuned. You would never do it on the pristine original.

I suppose there's a 10 year difference...here we are 85 or 95 years later it doesn't seem like a huge difference ;)

Metallic paint on such an old car? They didn't use that until the 40's.
