So I'm older than most GTAO/GTAF player/members Id think. So I've a differnt attitude about many things.

Like the way I dress, deal w/co-workers(now employees). How I raised my kids, etc and so on.

But after hanging around this forum for six years or so I've noticed quite the herd mentality.

Wether it be cars(gotta have a super), apartment/house selections, how you deal with freeroam, blah blah. But are there any individuals left? You goddamn kids think for yourselves?

Please, tell me. Do you roll with the herd or do you do what you like in a very lassie faire environment?

Are you a hipster OP >_>? You kinda sound like a hipster.

Well, if he's not lying, Dumb guy is 44 years old. 44 year old men obsessing over poorly customized super cars wearing monkey masks being a "troll" on GTA doesn't come to mind.
Lol. Huh?

He asked if you're a hipster. I'm guessing you don't run around throwing explosives at people acting like a kid, right? Or driving around in an ugly "YOLO420SWAG" super car? Because that kind of behavior is fairly common in GTA Online.

It's a generational thing. This forum is just a microcosm of the group born post 1998.

I was born in 1998. I am almost 17 years old and I am nothing like any of the people that play this game, or for that matter, nothing like the people in my generation.

We're not all bad. ;)

Take the time to actually go and read the more intensely discussed subjects. Your arrogant accusations are based on laziness on your part, else you wouldn't have posted this in the first place.

Well I don't know that I made accusations, let alone arrogant ones. Just some old dude observations. And NO ONE who knows me has EVER called me lazy.

But I'm still gonna give you that thumb thingy.

So what would be these "more intensely discussed subjects"? Are you one of those people who look down on the online section posters?

It's a video game site. Not really where I would go for intense discussion.

But I don't eat grass either so....

far from it. i actually had a few threads from the last couple of days in mind, all of them in the online section. and if i'm wrong about the lazy part, you will stumble upon them if you go looking.

Also, i really don't care if i'm on a video game site or a midget siamese twin fetish forum, if you refuse to dumb down your output you will sooner or later be rewarded with discussions worthy of being led.

To be honest OP, the majority of our society gains a sense of belonging when they are around others who like the same thing, the next step in human relations is to attempt to expand in shared beliefs and experiences. It is the basis for how we decide who we want to be and who we want to be with, it is most definitely not exclusive to these forums or gamers, it is human nature. Look at every commercial in tv, they target a group, not an individual

I started GTA3 at around 10 or 11 years old, but I don't act like the 10 and 11 years old in gta online.

I mind my own business, I do whatever sh*t I want that's in my possession, and I'm well aware that player character I see on my screen are controlled by human beings with their very own lives and feelings.

Maybe I'm dumdums, maybe I've had a few adult beverages. Either way I asked a simple question. Do you do your own thing in game.

I knew I'd get responses like I did(evil fiend good pics).

I come to this site for info on a game I like and have been playing for many years. I've never been "busted", tho I've gotten a few warnings(kisses raavi).

It's fun for me, just like the game.

Again I you all.

It seems you're trying to define yourself via choices you make in a video game to be different than the majority of players. I'll bite, what are you doing that makes you different? And why should anyone care enough to warrant you making this topic? Those are honest questions and not digs, by the way. Thus far, the stunters and content creators who actually put effort into what they make seem to be the most original players. I don't really mind elitists if they accomplished something, but I have to doubt you've done something all that noteworthy in-game until I see something.

There is so much wrong with this post, and i have so little concentration left. can someone with a fresh brain take this one?

Deriving an absolute statement about human nature from who is targeted in tv commercials... maybe this really is subversive on a whole different level, or it is just plain diarrhea of the mind. While i'd love to believe it's the first, all of what's left of my common sense tells me it's the later.

Not sure how that is subversive, but the mention of the tv commercials was directed at the thought that we all share common interests in life, people who advertise on tv know this and take advantage of it by targeting groups that have the same interest. This does not make people less of an individual, just evidence that even as individuals we share common beliefs.

You say you dont care and then completely contradict yourself in the next sentence saying you just wanted to know...

Are you on crack because youre all over the show. I mean asking people "do you do your own thing? or do you do what some guy on GTAF said was cool?"

What kind of thread did you honestly expect? You knew it was a sh*tpost thread the moment you thought about it on the sh*tter and you still thought this needs to happen

The majority of my time is spent in the Content Creator. At one point i think i had the most time spent in the Creator. I believe that counts as "doing my own thing". just check my jobs if you want further proof, i'm confident that not just the quantity, but also the kind of content, can speak for itself.

i think you confuse beliefs with conditioning. Our common cultural background might make us recipient to some of the same triggers if we do not care about it, but the moment you understand this you are free to change it. but i doubt you'd want that, as it seems you feel quite at home in the common identity you describe. in that case, enjoy it, i'll be the last to try convince you otherwise.

Simple, there are those who already are into something in their life and play for fun, others are seeking for acceptance, must gain respect and need to feel part of the largest numbers of individuals as possible, trying to impress no matter the cost and the most important is what others think about theirselves.

But i thinks theres too much butthurted individuals at this point, OPs question was on the big picture i think, mentioning supers was only a kind of example which turned out to be the main debate.

Answer for yourselves, you bought zentorno to beat everyone in races, shoot through rear windows and cause a mess, paint it dull to impress like a clown or because you think its beautiful, like the way it behave and sound and because you admires aventador IRL?

Well, to answer your original question then, yes, I would say I do my own thing by just playing. I spend a lot of time exploring the map and driving vehicles I like the feel of. Case in point, yesterday, I joined a public lobby and just cruised around in my Liberator for an hour.

If that's the case, creating the topic was fine, but the language you used was excessively haughty, especially when you've nothing really to show for it.

Anyone can get a hot topic by writing incendiary things like "starting a KKK roleplay crew." My suggestion is to just consider what responses you are actually interested in receiving and tailor your writing so they are more likely to come.
