OurJud
I honestly fail to understand what people want from this game. NPCs are nothing more than game furniture, and in that respect they serve their purpose perfectly. Why do people find it so hard to understand that consoles have limitations? You want better graphics, you want more cars, you want a bigger map, more weapons, more clothes, animals online, interiors for every f*cking building, better damage physics, and now you want f*cking NPCs that all have their own distinct dialogue, behaviour patterns, interaction abiities.... You constantly whinge about Rockstar and GTA, but as far as I'm concerned, you deserve sweet FA because you'll NEVER be happy. And you call the fanboys pathetic?? CarlitoDorito
It's hilarious to read the posts of some V fanboys defending the game. CarlitoDorito, you take the cake here. Your V defence is funny and pitiable at the same time. In the antagonist thread, you said Devin and Co. were not meant to be antagonists in the first place. Really? Ridiculous. Here, you say that ped improvement is a little extra that isn't needed. 'IV didn't have very interactive peds, so V doesn't need it either'. Maybe you forgot V came out 5 years after IV. I request you to tone down the fanboyism. f*cking pathetic. I actually like Carlito, despite the fact that his views are different to mine. But I gotta say the way he defends Rockstar in his recent comments have been very ridiculous. It's not something I could not notice, it is embarrassing. Still funny tho As hilarious and embarrassing as I find some of the complaints, so I'm glad we can make each other laugh. Btw It's very rude to talk about people you know super duper off topic now. DaWiesel
The pedestrians and AI isn't too bad in this game when you think about it. They do much more than in previous GTA games, but at times, that level of detail is gone. They end up doing the usual being on the phone and smoking, which annoys me. Yeah, thats what they do mostly, but that doesn't mean that they do nothing else frequently. That depends on where you are. NPC's in Blaine County or at least Sandy Shores use the phone way less than NPC's in LS, instead you can often find them drinking. But I sill think that it's a significant improvement over past GTA games where the usual thing they do was only walking around. CarlitoDorito
I saw 2 people on the side of the freeway waiting while a mechanic fixed their car, he was laying under it, his tow truck parked near. Things like this are a rare sight but a good one, not to be too defender-y. jp9865 and DaWiesel
woggleman
The only issues I have with the peds is that they are too quick to call the cops and everybody smokes. All of Los Santos is going to have COPD in 20 years. Also people defend things they like. It is natural just like fans of another game on here are very defensive about it. It doesn't make somebody a fanboy or whatever you want to call them. OurJud

Excellent example of why I call defensive fanboys pathetic.. Notice how you had to resort to swearing and write that those who complain will "never be happy." etc? Wrong. I'm having a blast with a ton of games right now! I'm very happy and I withhold my right to complain if I see a game did not live up to it's promises. My only problem with the game is the lack of interiors and the boring pedestrians. Dumb cops are something that pretty much everyone agrees on at this point. Fanboys are people who cannot bear to see any criticism on their beloved game.. Instead of being mature and saying "I disagree." they resort to personal shots and get aggressive to people, and in the worst cases spam them with abusive PMs.. It is quite obvious that Rockstar misrepresented the pedestrians in this game with the first trailer. I have listed all the reasons why in a previous comment. It's also a fact that we can affect pedestrians in a more moral-based way in San Andreas by deciding on negative or positive comments depending the left or right button on the D-pad. It's funny because the trailer was so unbelievably focused on the pedestrians and making them look complex.. You'd expect at least some of that to make it into the final game. Not the case unfortunately. I didn't see peds walking past each other throwing little hand signs, I didn't see peds holding hands.. I didn't see any hookers bending over cars, I didn't see any hikers standing back to get their pictures taken. I didn't see anyone really working in those fields. The ped animations in the trailer were also more advanced than the final game.. And to top it all off I personally find the pedestrians in the final game to be boring, I agree with the OP. CarlitoDorito
It seems being a fanboy is a only a good thing when everyone likes something, or if it's IV or red dead If they made peds more interesting, how I'm not sure. More dialogue maybe, more connected dialogue, maybe more animations, drug deals in alleys, police arresting people. Realistic things like people walking with shopping bags, they split and all the shopping goes everywhere. People walking and using their phones is very realistic, some people get run over tweeting now. Edited February 24, 2015 by CarlitoDorito
Official General
It seems being a fanboy is a only a good thing when everyone likes something, or if it's IV or red dead Because quite frankly, IV(+EFLC) and RDR were brilliant games that either met or exceeded their expectations as Rockstar-made games. It took a while for IV to finally get that recognition, but now it does, especially because of EFLC.

Those sales figures where around when EFLC first came out, I'm sure many more have gone on to buy or play it since. If many people still seem to think IV is better than V, when the former is 5 years older than the latter and using older technology, then IV must be finally getting some kind of overdue acclaim and recognition. CarlitoDorito
^^ thats your opinion though, not really the final word on a games quality, even if many here agree. It's like how with V, a lot of people seem quite impressed, despite the flaws. Some can play it, have fun and be just as blown away as they were by IV, despite its flaws. V could have met or exceeded expectations for many people, IV may have let them down, who knows. Seems so incredibly hypocritical. We can't talk for everyone really, we'd have to have an incredibly big ego to thing many millions of people share our opinion. When I say "most love the game" I'm just guessing, going by opinions I've seen, and discussions I've had with people. Then again I'm guessing they're all dirty fanboys. Unless you mean the GTA forums, some YouTube comments and people on the rockstar newswire, then yeah, most agree V is sh*t. The other people, not on the forums, without need to express their opinions on the Internet, may think differently. Not all 12 year olds either amazingly. Ya IV defender you! (Not calling you that, I'm just guessing that's what people who don't like IV would call you) I'm more of a red dead fanboy, I won't take a word against it! Being one isn't bad, getting angry over people liking something you don't, bitching at them, is a bit dicky. DaWiesel
Just because people, no matter how much, feel that V didn't met or exceed THEIR expectations doesn't mean I have to agree with them. I didn't let myself influence by all the people that complained about IV back when it was the newest game and I certainly won't now with V. The game exceed my expectations and that's all what really matters. If people aren't able to accept that then that's their problem. If you can't stand people liking V in the V section of a GTA forum then you should better leave and go to the other sections on this around here. https://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&ei=Db_sVJK_Ku2M7AbumYGQBg&url=http://m.youtube.com/watch%3Fv%3DS6wbJB18RmI&ved=0CB4QyCkwAA&usg=AFQjCNFqeYHX-WkyKhz63Fh3sK9Nnp1Quw&sig2=Z6T29bnZFyJrq6lZSfIGBACinematic Trailer Gameplay trailerSome people need to learn the difference between the 2.SMH. Well, I can somehow understand that people find it misleading but unfortunately, they have been doing this since a long time. CarlitoDorito
^^ dangerously approaching defending now. I think so anyway, I'm not sure on the rules of defending For me IV and V are equally as good, I don't care it's not about the criminal underworld yet again or that cars don't stay on when you get out, like I didn't care IV wasn't 3 cities, with loads of vehicle variety, loads of mad weapons and a complete change in tone. dyspoid
They probably shouldn't have depicted peds the way they did in the trailer. People can say that you shouldn't trust trailers, which is true... But that doesn't mean it shouldn't have been done. You can't make hype for a game by advertising its technical sophistication and then release a game without it. I just hope it was actually due to some complication, rather than an actual attempt to mislead consumers. With that said, I really don't have too much of a problem with peds. I mean, I still love the game. I think most people complaining are annoyed because the game is 80 per cent perfect, and that extra 20 per cent could have been there. On another note, have any of you guys been attacked by guys chasing you on dirtbikes or quads?
