This game is an amazing accomplishment. I cannot state that enough and I've been playing games for the last 25 years. It still blows me away every time i play it because i notice something new. What other game can do that? I've bought copies for both for ps3 and ps4. No other game have i bought twice but this game i wanted to because it is that good. You don't get critical acclaim and get to be one of the best selling games ever by making a bad game. Most of you today don't know you're born if you complain about the peds in GTA5. Red Dead Redemption is Rockstar's BEST game that dropped on PS3/Xbox 360. That's not an opinion, that's a FACT! The Story alone is Oscar worthy... That game is a masterpiece and happens to be one of my favorite video games of all-time. As for GTA, my favorite GTA Vice City (with IV coming in at a close second). Rockstar clearly focused on the Online aspect of GTA V more than Single Player. How can anyone enjoy that god awful story? The story was the worst in the GTA series by far. Even III's was more interesting. Sure the map and detail is pretty damn good but the character's lack in some areas (especially Franklin - whose character was very underdeveloped). I can't stand hearing "Hey, what's up?" or "Whatever dude..." on nearly every street I roam around on. It gets old and annoying fast... In V we have mainly fashionable, wealthy looking women in LS, gangbangera in the hood, bodybuilders at the gym, beach goers at the beach. Farmers, workers, bus drivers etc. What do you mean they fixed peds spawning in sensible areas? I play GTA IV on a regular basis and I have no idea what you mean by that they just spawn anywhere. You don't see yuppie businessmen from Algonquin spawn in the primary Russian influenced Hove Beach, you don't see Spanish Lords spawn randomly in Little Italy, construction workers are seen around construction sites/roadworks etc. Generally the more run down areas of the city are populated by gang members, hobos etc. Business districts like South Algonquin are populated by businessmen/women. It's pretty much like every GTA is in how it's structured by its social hierarchy. I don't see how GTA V could've fixed something that was never broken in the first place. What a surprise. All jokes aside, I feel like the pedestrian spawning in GTA V/Online is broken. I would often find wealthy people in luxury cars in Blaine County too often. Vagos keep spawning in the Sandy Shores Airfield. Hipsters in Grapeseed. This wasn't an issue in GTA IV. Grapgically it's head and shoulders above every previous R* game. Yes the story isn't the best but it serves is purpose. And god forbid that R* dared to experiment with new system (3 protags) rather than the tried and trusted. Plus the map size beats the hell out of any other R* game as well. These things alone take up huge amounts of data. Plus all the activities you can do in GTA5, the amount of weapons, vehicles Etc. What other GTA game has cars, bikes, boats, jetskis, helicopters, planes, submarines, buses, towtrucks etc. (I'm sure I've missed something) Plus every previous GTA game had copy and paste areas such as buildings, interiors etc while this one everything is different. The peds AI is greatly improved on GTA4. did they ever comment on your car in 4? They do in 5. Do the same peds appear in different locations depending on the time of day in 4? They do in 5. In 4 the peds spawn depending on the area. Not depending on what each ped is assigned to do like in 5. Go back to my previous example of Dave, who lives in Chumash and works at Clucking Bell. I don't think you guys realise how much data things in this game take up. The cannot keep improving on things and adding things in every game without losing some things. Peds don't use umbrellas in 5 for example. But it's a game based on LA where it hardly rains so they didn't think this would be important. Plus they revamped the whole RAGE engine for 5 so it's not simply a case of taking everything from 4/EFLC and porting it into 5. Also claiming that Red Dead being the best game R* made is an opinion, not a fact. It's you're opinion and many others but it's not mine. Yes it's a great game but it's not their best game ever in my opinion. Can i suggest dictionaries for people who don't know the difference between facts and opinions. Looking at the review scores, GTA5 is their best game ever. Peds complimented the player on a bunch of things in San Andreas, your clothes, muscles, tattoos, haircuts etc.. V has really not improved on things as much as you think, go back and play San Andreas and you'll see how overrated this game is. You can talk to fat people as Trevor, he insults them, if they don't answer you can continue "hey fatty" followed by "hey fatty I'm talking to you!" They usually run away after that. Michael will have convos with hipsters, when you say hi to people, sometimes they tell you a story, you can reply again after with a different response. They have surprisingly long phone calls, I heard one guy mention Dom, another talking about Liberty city, there's loads. Which is better, it is an improvement. That's a fact btw I've never had the cops called on me when standing next to a ped for 5 seconds. What am I doing wrong?! In San Andreas, peds would talk sh*t to you or give you a compliment on what outfit you are wearing, what tattoos you got inked on your body, your hairstyle, et cetera... They would even talk about what vehicle you are driving if you parked it up next to them and got out. Grove Member: Where'd you get that bucket of sh*t? CJ: At least it ain't beat up like your mama busta ass mark. You could reply back with either a positive reply or negative reply. The interaction with Peds was way better than V. It happened to me only once with Michael on CG, some girl called them after I run into her. But I have been standing next to many different NPCs with Michael and Franklin and they never called any cops. However it happens more often with Trevor, which probably is on purpose, it's Trevor afterall. Sometimes they walk away if you walk right in front of them, which is normal but I have been able to interact with many NPCs, sometimes they even tell you about their lives. That happened to me when I spoke to some guy that works on one of those booths at Del Perro Pier. Don't recall that being possible in any previous GTA. Why not have a compliment button and an insult button with pedestrians like San Andreas did? That game is OVER 10 YEARS OLD now. Did Rockstar not study the features of previous games before developing GTA V? There was a ton of stuff which could have been expanded on from previous games. It would be endless fun to go up to pedestrians and try insulting/complimenting them, having a fluid conversation for a minute if you do the right combo between them. For instance you could press the insult button on a pedestrian, annoy them then have Michael start apologising with the compliment button, the pedestrian doesn't accept the apology then have Michael get angry, baiting the ped into a fight. Give some of the pedestrians guns, make them different heights and have a bunch of different races. I don't see many peds which are over 6 foot, I don't see many indians or asians. Have crazy pedestrians rugby tackle and citizens arrest the player if you're on a killing spree. Put some more homeless people in the more upstate areas, sleeping down alleyways at night time instead of sticking them all in one spot. Have more gangs! Even GTA 3 was superior to V in this department. Have more groups of pedestrians walking around talking amongst themselves. Have pedestrians handing out leaflets, getting annoyed if you stand there and ignore them. If you hit someone in a car, have them follow you and stop, getting out and asking you to pay the insurance before calling the cops etc.. Have groups of pedestrians playing soccer in parks, throwing balls to each other etc.. Rockstar are fully capable of this and it seems logical for the game to go that way. This is what some of us imagined the game eventually becoming when we played a few years ago. The fact Rockstar spent so much time on the ocean etc and not stuff like this is ridiculous! The game BARELY expands upon GTA IV in the areas which make it feel real and engaging. I thought of all of this in five minutes yet Rockstar didn't even come close to it with three to four years of work. All that coding that went into the missions and scripted events should have gone more into the open world instead. What a waste of talent, time, money and resources! Rockstar have obviously lost all their creativity. Just a half assed remake of San Andreas. Still not better than the two minute lasting conversations with these two guys in the saloon in Armadillo in Red Dead Redemption. Having two guys talking about the Civil War (many, many years back) is very interesting. I always stumble upon this whenever I get buy a shot of gin at the bar. There is actually quite a few conversations like this. This man was once talking about having 3 wives to this one guy and I swear the convo lasted about 3 minutes. Peds have some improvements over past GTA games though, small subtle animations, dialogue. More can be added later too I think.
