The word filter in this game is utterly idiotic and probably the biggest failure in GTA history. Can barely write anything without getting censored because of whatever letter combination happened. Some words that are censored are beyond ridiculous. What's wrong with "Raccoon"? I mean, other than there being some stupid slang (made by a complete loser) nobody really gives a f*ck about what exactly is wrong with it (This is why I can't have a custom plate)? Can't even take Snapmatics in certain parts of Grapeseed because the name happens to have "rape" in it.

 

It's 18+ game for f*cks sake. What's the point of censoring bad language if there is an NPC screaming "f*ck me in the ass" every two seconds?

There's one that I can't believe still exists. If you want to buy custom pens as gifts or novelty items, you normally have to buy in bulk, but fear not for there is a place where you can satisfy all your pen related needs...

Not that I have ever had anything rejected after Filtering, but Yesterday it decided to keep "Checking" my Message and as a result I could not send any more messages until I went back to SP and Joined Online again...Just another part of the game that suffers from Bugs!

Somewhat stupid given that switching to "all chat" in a public lobby will generally have you listening to racist slurs and profanity (much like the single player game is full of), and it's usually coming from the youngest players in the session as well.

 

Let's be honest, if profanity and racist remarks offend you then you're playing the wrong game to start with.

At least they only block certain words from being sent, one online game I used to play would actively monitor and log all of your message interactions and you'd face being muted if you triggered their banned word list. Trigger that list too many times and you'd face a suspension, which was bullsh*t because a few words that are banned have a completely innocuous meaning in some non-English languages! And the filter would over-compensate, ignoring spaces inbetween words so typing something like "push it" would end up being sent as "pu** **".

I tried messaging a crewmate to tell them not to kill these 3 players as they were not crew but were friends. turns out the word kill is a no go too.

If it just keeps checking the message infinitely, just resend it.

So is there a list somewhere of what the filter triggers on? I was doing Los Santos Connection with a random. While I was flying the Buzzard, he was just standing there at the depot. I had to send him a text to go hack the laptop. While I forget the exact wording, it definitely didn't have anything bad, but it was blocked. Since I couldn't send anything else, I had to land the heli and do it myself. He then proceeded to take the heli and immediately crash it leaving me to complete the mission on my own. (He already died once while checking the GPS). FML.
