I keep getting a line of text saying that my messages are being checked for profanity.

 

I'm assuming some butt hurt individual reported me through the menu system. Nothing else has come of it besides the message and I have not sent any profane texts so I'm not worried, only curious.

 

Anyone else encountered this?

You have noooo idea how many messages I had to reword because I couldn't say "minigun" or "sniper"

you can't say Rockstar either. or words which even contain 3 letters of a certain place

 

even heard that on current gen there's a location from where you can't upload snapmatics cause it's called gRAPEssesed or something.

lots of words that for some reason can't be used

I love how this game is full of sex, violence, drugs references, NPCs swearing for no reason... But you can't send a message with the name of a weapon in, or call little Johnny a pussy for killing a rank 5 then going passive... Gotta love C* logic.

Well if I was getting a sex change I'd prefer it to be done by experts at least, doesn't seem like something to throw caution to the wind with.

the word "glitch" is forbidden too

 

its quite stupid that there are word filters in a game like this.

On topic: Why R* feels the need to censor curses in GTA of all things is a mystery in itself, not to mention how back-ass it is (Photos in Grapeseed can't be uploaded, can you guess why?)

A long time ago (when Beach Bum was released), I took a Snapmatic photo of my female character in Vinewood with the Republican Space Ranger cosplayers, and tried captioning it "Cosplay is sexy." "Sex" wasn't allowed. From the game where you can pick up hookers and go to a strip club.

If you're on Xbox and you really do have that urge to message someone calling them a f'n c, use the Xbox messaging system, they don't censor that...

my mrs was a massage therapist... there was a well known (i beleive now offline) website http://www.therapistfinder.com... needless to say they got a few erroneous hits

really? i must be unlucky then...

 

i have tried to send messages with the word and always get the "forbidden" message.
