DentureDynamite
Not sure if anyone else has encountered this, but twice now I've instantly picked up a one-star wanted level when driving a gang Peyote past the police station in the south-east part of the map, near the Los Santos Customs mod shop (and Ammu-nation across the street). It occurred to me that both times when this happened I had driven through a red light right in visible distance of the police standing outside the station. If this isn't a strange bug, I'm wondering if this is one of the recent 'tweaks' that R* has slipped in under the hood (i.e. not part of an official patch update?) BRAAAP_STUTUTU
I actually think it is linked to the fact you are driving a (probably) stolen vehicle, happens to me all the time.
Ghost XB
Did you steal the Peyote before you drove it by the Police Station? If you drive a stolen car near a cop (in this case the Police Station) you get a 1 star (It might be 2 star) wanted level.
DentureDynamite
Yes, I stole it; just seems odd because I've driven tons (20-30 at least) of stolen Peyote's (Vagos, Ballers, etc.) past that same station at all times of the day, and zero wanted levels...until recently. Maybe the Vagos are just tired of getting ripped off and figure they may as well make use of the cops. lol But gosh darn it; they've cost me thousands of dollars in replacement body armor (read: Super Heavy Jell-O bag) purchases. Anyway, to be safe from now on, I'll take a different route to my garage. There must be a timeout period at which a stolen car is no longer considered stolen and given a wanted level by the cops--perhaps just getting it into your garage for the first time? flipchuck
Driving past any cop with a stolen car will gain wanted stars. The only way to prevent that is to respray the stolen car.
jazzbone
That's funny. Did the cops shoot at you? Back in Nov. 2013 when i started online,ps3, driving past or near a police station in a stolen vehicle was to be avoided. The cops would start to shoot at me and i would get wanted stars. Changes were then made to have the cops outside the station not respond. Edited February 20, 2015 by jazzbone
einjzmolf
If you think it's due to running the red light, try stopping at it next time. It's because the vehicle is stolen.
