Eurotrash
So aside from the first few months when GTA IV came out what other Rockstar games have had issues? If you bring up 10+ year old games then they don't count. Also don't forget Max Payne 3. Why don't they count? Because it's convenient for you, that's why. They do count, especially since Rockstar doesn't release PC games very often, and to answer your question: GTA III still has issues, some were fixed in the Steam version. Mainly concerning the graphics. GTA Vice City doesn't have any issues I can recall, I'll give you that. GTA San Andreas had more problems than I can count. In between the terrible optimization and the whole "Hot Coffee" issue that lead to censorship and DRM, it featured bugs and crashes left and right. Bully and Manhunt 2 were horrible ports from pretty much every point of view. Bad optimization, worse controls... GTA IV set a new standard for bad ports. LA Noire ran pretty well largely because of it's PS2-esque graphics, but the terrible controls and DRM were alive and well. Max Payne 3 was decently optimized, but it crashed whenever it felt like it, the keyboard controls were horrifying, the Social Club made re installing and replaying the game painfully difficult (and backing up your saves impossible), and it still doesn't work for many people who bought it on Steam. I think you're the one with the memory problems pal. As a person who regularly plays GTA Online on PS3, I must say, every DLC after High Life Update is basically sh*t. And basically every update made the game worse. Much more FPS drops on PS3, and the graphics aren't as good as it used to back when the game launches on last-gen. Not surprising, console games are about as upgradeable as the consoles. The graphics aren't a GTA specific thing though, all new-gen games look washed out. Same as all old-gen games had an abundance of brown filter when they were new. Edited February 20, 2015 by Eurotrash rpsgc
Fubarbrickdust
What I hope happens, if R* actually gives in and lets modding become a big part of the PC version, is that they'll have a monthly submissions area where they can view some of the most top-rated user made stuff, for redevelopment and implementation in an update for all platforms, much like TF2 and Workshop items. This would keep things fresh and produce a stream of revenue for quite some time. Gotta say, I'm another vote for something along this line - I know it's complete wishful thinking. Wouldn't even have to be as intergrated as that if R* couldn't be arsed...just a bit more of an open mind/here's a few mod tools, go do as you wish kinda vibe. The only snag in that world is the whole 'online' thing again - I find it hard to see a lot of that potential content making it out there in a big way unless R* back it up/allow 3rd party multiplayer hosting. What I'm sorta getting at is that it would be nice if R* had the same approach to GTA:O as, say, Bohemia had towards it's mod and MP community support for the Arma series of games...that would be cool - I mean, look at what's come off the back of that - DayZ, Sa-Matra's Wasteland (both A2 & A3), KOTH for A3, even the *** 'life' gamemodes. All of which have MASSIVELY extended the longevity and lifespan of their games, even to the point where A2 was regularly hitting the Steam top 10 some 4yrs after it's release just because of a simple MP mod (DayZ). R* take note! - pay it forward. Embrace and encourage the PC modding community and not only will they develop content for you (free labour), but, same as Wapster says, they'll keep sales up long after the game's had its shelf life...what's not to like?! Uncle Sikee Atric
I think it is ironically funny that modders will almost guarantee that the casino opens for us before R* opens it offically. Plus, they'll probably have more games at release.... MythAlex

Maybe it will be just, stand in the blue circle at the door and pick your game, a la arm wrestling. At least at first....
