Fans of understatement & generally themed characters?

I recently dumped a lot of guns. I've always politely ignored the fact that in GTA we carry a ludicrous volume of weapons and ammo, and always hated scrolling thru menus during firefights. So I dropped everything I don't use and, excluding thrown & heavy weapons, now have only one weapon in each slot. Life is easier, loadout slightly less silly, and I don't even miss the musket.

 

Like some others, I prefer the low profile to the over-the-top supergangstas. I mean, I don't deliberately gimp myself with weak weapons and slow cars (), but by the same token I don't get around in face paint and spam rpgs from a chradder.

 

I think of my characters as classic GTA protags - start out as a street hustler and work your way up to crime lord - and that informs my playstyle.

Starting with GTA IV multiplayer, I just wanted to make my character look as nerdy as possible to create a nice contrast with the deadliness of his actions. So I gave him glasses, red jumper, flicked hair. I've tried to recreate this in GTAO but he looks a little too cool for my liking. He needs proper, thick geek spectacles, not sunglasses. This is all I want R* to add to the game.

 

I'm thinking of utilising a second character for the first time ever. I want this one not to worry about being killed by other players. Just messing around doing whatever he wants, not being aggressive, not chasing money, just having a crappy apartment.

 

How do second characters affect the stats of the first character?

The only way second characters impact your first is that you're not playing the first, therefor not building stats. They share a bank account, but that's it.

 

As for the glasses, I find it funny that females have the option for actual glasses, while the males only have sunglasses (I REALLY want regular glasses for my male character, as he looks like a douchebag with or without sunglasses (how about a middle-ground that would look decent?)).

I usually play with my character dressed as informally as possible. It just feels better in my opinion.

I changel clothes whenever I feel like it. Mines only in military spec ops garb when I feel the need. I tend to switch what car I drive (wear a suit, drive JB 700. Military garb? Merryweather Mesa. Ripped jeanahorts, elites top, and sneaks? Hakuchou. Feeling different? Any other car.

 

I only own a single super (Zentorno) and a few sports. Rest are muscle or classic or motorcycles.

Once I was in mission with my suit-dressed female character riding a pink Faggio. Kiddo in ugly-painted Zentorno disliked and purposely rammed me to death.

I originally made my asian character to be a tough-guy wannabe yakuza,
but the way I dress him, and the tornado (Bel Air style) that I drive, make him look more like a smug(walk style) billionaire car-collector.

I switch back and forth a lot, but your post gave me a new look at things.
I'm going to make my second character something like a PI or something, like you said, oldies style.
And find myself an appropriate car (any suggestions?)

Or, maybe something with a female character, a washed up vinewood actress? A typical nerdy IT girl? (seen to much Arrow)

I just upgraded my game to next gen, and I really love the crisp it added to my tweed jacket pattern :]

 

I do change up clothes sometimes, but it's always either a three piece similar to Cole from LA Noire (Black pants & vest, grey jacket & fedora), or tweed jacket ("Vintage Jacket" I think) & brown Fedora. I just love that 50s look.

 

 

 

My favourite gun is the classic pistol, since it resembles a .45 Colt 1911, and sometimes a Pump-Action Shotgun if needed.

The normal pistol reminds me more of a Beretta. I usually use the heavy pistol on my main, since that reminds me more of a 1911.

 

And of course my female character uses a platinum .50 pistol.

 

 

Sorry, I meant the one that came with the "hipster" update - the steel colored one with the cream colored grip.

The heavy pistol matches the geometry more, but it's too dark for my liking, and it has this tactical sight thingy ontop of the slider. I also prefer the sound of the "Classic". As for the 7-round-clip, as Revolver Ocelot put it, I love reloading in battle.

I dress my guy like Walter White and drive a metallic red Buccaneer with white-walled rims. I have a 6 car garage in the Senora Desert. I use whatever my best gun is (Carbine Rifle).

I just dress mine in everyday-clothes. He drives a midnight blue Dominator. Sniper and assault rifles all day every day.

 

My secondary character looks and dresses like some creep that spends too much time around the kids playgrounds. He drives a windowless black van

I was initially going to make her more of a counterpart of the first one but since Valentine didn't come around, she will remain a soldier.

Not sure if this is an understatement by most people's standards, but if you go by "what I do/would wear IRL vs. what I wouldn't wear IRL", then, yeah.

(I'm not including what people wear for a laugh, a Youtube video, or while drunk, which I think a lot of players might be basing their character's clothes on)
