Didn't a bunch of people just rebuy the game?

Yea im one of those people
So why would it be "dying"?

Because we need more activities to do in general.

Its starting to feel repetitive.

Because some people don't think.I refer you to the personal taste thing. If people buy a newer version of the game, it puts some life into it. (If that makes sense.) People either continue the game or start new. So then why does someone come along and ask if the game is dying? (And could we forget about me not liking the surfer van? I think both of us expressed our opinions enough.)

People seem to fear that if Rockstar allows lobby options (for example - Friendly, No-Cops, etc) that each lobby will have only 5 players. I guess that implies there are only a hundred people still playing GTA0.

So yeah, it must be pretty dead.

:p

A lot of snappy 90's one-liners that nobody is creating discussion.

I'm going to say "yes" since Rockstar seems to no longer care about keeping the game fresh, after all their excuse is and will be the hard work on heists. Watching how they don't listen to community plus people moving and the lack of actual content (and not some new sports car) the game will die if heists aren't good enough.

At this point, well over a month without DLC, and after many DLC packs that barely added anything, and after well over a year of playing since GTAO came out...

Yeah, the people still playing the game are here to stay.

I'm almost level 400 now.

Why do I play? Cause nothing else is like GTA! Cause I like to shoot up peoples' customized rides, play missions with friends, do cool sh*t in my custom cars...

Plus, the game is the best-produced and most streamlined of its kind. I've never even bought a Saint's Row and never intend on it. For me, there's simply no substitute for GTAO.

The Question itself is pointless since Player numbers will naturally decline overtime. What should be asked is:

Through the policy of limited communication with the Playerbase regarding future Updates to GTA Online, do you feel R* is contributing to a more rapid decrease in Player numbers?

To this I would Answer Yes. The Information and Update drought since 18th December is doing R* no favors.

Very good! This makes a lot more sense to ask. To this I would suggest that its possible, although anyone thats been gaming for as long as I have would know its just the way Rockstar does business. They have been this way for many years yet they are still hugely successful. Therefore I would argue that this is a wise business model Edited by Starsky83

People still play Doom 1 Online. So no.

lol, I totally still play Doom 1/2 online. Zandronium ftw

On Topic: It's like other people here are saying, people just get bored with the content currently available. An in depth mission creator would help quite a bit in terms of the replay value.

One. Why are you telling me this?

I never said game was dying. Or living. Or a hot pile.

Two. Just like the game, I do my opinion the way I like. If you don't care to have... Questionable things you've said to me rehashed, please, don't feed me or there is that ignore option

Logically, the second it began was also the second it started to die.

So yes, GTAO is dying.

If you compared it with the number of people I met in the early days of GTA to those that still play on a regular basis (at least once every week), then the answer is

Yes, GTAO is dying.

:(

It just appears that way. Force yourself to meet new people. It's thriving more for me than ever because I keep my standards of who I will play with somewhere above (piece of complete sh*t) I end up having falling outs. Well two really only in the past year and change the game has been out.

Point is i force myself to find new people to play with and now I have the best crew I've ever had of strong death marchers, racers and my two commissioners were crew leaders. We all came together 2 fuss ago and already are at 23 completely active members. We are having to split up so we don't fight each other in 6 vs 6 matches. It's awesome.

No - in the same way that a parked car isn't 'dead' just because it ain't moving...

...although if someone at R* could put their foot on the gas after 2 months at the side of the proverbial road, it'd be much appreciated! :p

No, it's not dying.

Besides, the correct question would be, if GTA:O is dead and decaying yet.

I have witnessed a MMO project (2238) starting, developing and dying from the PoV of player. Oh God, the forums.

All the bitching and whining about evil and arrogant developers, who provided a free to play game with updates, spoken with community, implemented suggestions under a tyranny of game masters... Eventually the developers realized that this ungrateful work wasn't fun anymore and let the game die.

The euphoria of the trolls... "Finally!", "told you so since years!"...

And then everyone left. Only winds blew over the burnt Wasteland...

It was the community that killed 2238. And i was one of them and i ain't proud of what i have done.

Do you think GTA Online is dying. Dont Argue, Just Answer.

The real question we need to ask is "does the OP post stupid, pointless topics?"

Here's your answer:

Yes and No.

Will it die out; NO. However; the playerbase is declining rapidly. Rockstar should release the Heists and other DLC ASAP otherwise the playerbase might never recover.
Hard truth but it's the truth.

Even I, who played GTA Online a lot, stopped playing it about a month ago. The fun is gone... I have seen everyting, done everything, and did every possible mission multiple times. Only new content can save the game for me :p
