BreakdownFace
I've just been thinking about the 3 actors who played Trevor, Michael and Franklin and it seems that none of them have been offered roles in mainstream TV shows and movies since the release of GTA 5. This surprises me, I expected Steven Ogg to be a big name by now, getting roles everywhere, but this doesn't seem to be the case. He'd really suit being Kletus Kassidy/Carnage in a Spider-Man movie. Did GTA 5 kill acting careers instead of launch them? Hollywood may be fickle with video games and not see them as a credible acting role, despite the fact that they are just as hard, if not harder work than regular acting roles. Maybe we'll just have to wait. Do you think the 3 main actors will have a high profile acting career in the coming years? Tikhung
RominOctane
The guy that voices Lamar has had his own tv show "black Jesus" and a few other things. Pretty sure Ned Luke is already considered a big actor. Don't know about Og solo and Steven ogg. StJimmy and SmokesWithCigs
American Viking
I had not heard of any of them prior to GTA V, and I'd say Steven Ogg is the most talented of the bunch. They're comfortable living off GTA money right now, but their time will come. I fully expect the deals to be offered in the future. PhoGarrett
Steven Ogg looks like he has about 5 years of more work ahead of him, he's starred in TV shows and some movies. Ned Luke has been in Law & Order so he isn't well-known, plus he has a wife and kids that might prevent him from work like Michael. Solo is the guy I don't see getting any acting gigs considering he's more of a rapper anyhow.
îlîlîlîlîlî
OG Solo isn't much of an actor, they just needed a black guy from the west coast. He probably got the part because he's Young Maylay's cousin.. DIEXEL

SNIT01
Ned Luke has actually been a secondary character in a number of episodes for shows including all of the Law & Orders as well as show like JAG & Third Watch, that said he's been pretty inactive since 2000. Rockstar generally hire voice actors that haven't really rose to fame or previously had leading roles, it ends up cheaper for them. Game devs have to pay a lot more people than TV Productions. Official General
OP you realize that there is a big difference between screen acting and voice acting right ? I don't see how you can expect these 3 voice actors from V to be big stars just because they worked in a best-selling video game. I'd never even heard of any of them before until the later stages of V's development. You need to calm down, we know V was a big game, but you don't need to get so gassed up over the main voice actors. He felt like he was too old for it and all he wanted to do was run his motorcycle business. He does have acting experience though. CarlitoDorito
Film makers and film studious, a lot of actors too, see video games as toys, or a way of making money by making mostly horrible films based on them. Nolan North is good in uncharted, dead pool too, stars as concerned dad in a lot of cop shows. The guy from the last of us is good in games but Isn't in films, game acting is like it's own thing now I think, not a stepping stone to comic book movies and horrors about nice families who get haunted, the woman ends up possessed. The guy who played John marston should be more famous than the majority of the successful movie actors, if it was based on acting ability. Dope_0110
Neither. GTA V is just another job in a long line of past and future jobs for all of them. For some it may be the highlight of the career so far, and maybe it turns out as the biggest thing they've ever done, others may go on to do bigger (Hollywood blockbuster) things or may live as they did before V, from role to role in not-that-popular TV shows and movies. You're just giving GTA way too much credit, it doesn't make or brake careers, it's just another job. Official General and or1

ItsJustMeSrsly
You seem to be uninformed about the actors scene then! Its always like that, they aren't big names and they never was! I don't remember a single case, when some actor or actress got famous just from voicing the game or getting some particular character's appearance being influenced by him/her! LOL Like i said it was always like that, its a long established trend! Voice actors without names never get big scene! Hell i didn't even hear anything about this Ned Luke guy, until i found out he's a person, from whom Michael De Santa been drawn! LOL If it weren't for Michael character i would never find out anything about this Ned Luke guy!...Sure thing now games are being received more seriously than before, but all in all they're still games and it will take a lot of time, till people that the characters were based of and voiced by would start getting recognized massively! It seems that some biggest AAA titles almost reached that point, but even those titles aren't on par with movies fame recognition...the scope is still smaller!...
