I'm glad you asked! For me, the answer is yes! Why? Let's talk about Process Addiction.

Simply put, many aspects of this game are "addictive" because of the endorphins released when you gain incremental amounts towards a larger desired goal. So, if you have a primary character that already owns everything, has all the weapon tints unlocked, and so on, your second character will allow you to get the same sort of brain tickling fun as you realize that you now have 30 more cars to buy, upgrades to unlock for those vehicles... millions of dollars in clothing/guns/equipment/Pegasus vehicles to buy, and so on!

 

Side note: Process Addiction is also why those who glitch towards their goals (or are given money by glitchers) are quite often the ones who end up using the "C*" and "I hate this game, see you on the game tomorrow!" kind of mentality. Hackers that distribute money are robbing people of fun.

Only benefit was when I got a free swift helicopter using a glitch by creating a second & transferring all my money so I only had 1.5 million in the bank.

When I reached level ~150 on my first character I learned how to change aiming to free aim and decided to transition. However, as I wasn't really familiar with free aim mechanics in the game, I sucked at it - I was losing against levels 50 and my deathmatch K/D was usually at about 0.3. I thought it was a good moment to start fresh so I made my second character. Now I'm much better at free aim and my 2nd character is ~110 and I'll just keep playing with this one. If it wasn't for the fact that I wanted to play free aim I wouln't make my 2nd chareacter and my 1st would be easily lvl 220, but overall I'm glad with my decision. Learning to play the game with free aim was totally different experience and having to earn everything from the start was cool as well.

I like to use my second character for;

 

* Putting away extra money so it doesn't go lost to stupid sh*t like medical bills

* Extra cars/ garage space

* Chance to re-order Pegasus vehicles so the best ones are at the end of the list

Since i started a second character, a female one, a few weeks ago. I have noticed a few good benefits. You get to live in properties that you have never lived in before and also get to own more cars. Last get the full on getting ranked faster experience.

Yeah just having a fresh start from playing as a high ranked character is always nice too of course until he/she gets to 120.

 

OH and how i can i forget that with a second character(rank 6), you can do the alter character apperance glitch.

Maybe this is too obvious, but I find the swap character screen very handy for going AFK (I don't know if it works when you only have one character).

 

You don't have to swap characters when you get to the screen, and if you haven't been away too long, you'll often be returned to the same session you were in previously.

I have two characters, 202 and 91. Both have maxed stats(except lung cap.) The only reason I don't play them both equally is because one has a Buzzard available and the other doesn't, atm. Once I pony up the dough for a second one I'll probably play the second much more. It's nice having two. My main character used to be primarily for racing so I have the best in class for each type. This takes up room in my garages for cars that, I don't necessarily hate but wouldn't have if I didn't care about racing. This is why I'd play my second character more if he had a Buzzard, his garages are filled with all of my favorite cars in the game. I definitely recommend starting a new one. Its a fresh start which never feels bad.

If your secondary is still a lower level, you can get better odds for getting higher end free cars (Felons, F620s, Sentinel Convertibles, Rocotos, etc.) Granted, you can get a good chunk of them through Simeon's list in Invite Only.

I've also noticed that if you switch from your secondary back to your main, you can get some of those cars in traffic easier for a few minutes.

These are on old gen, not sure what's changed on new yet.

The only hidden benefit to a second character is the joy of the early days - getting by with less everything. Some don't care for that but I enjoyed my "second playthrough". But make your second one the opposite gender from your first, for some variety.

Start second character, finish tutorial, level up and buy property directly in front of Zancudo. Set spawn location to garage.

 

Join and leave sessions as you wish and always be close to a Lazer to up that k/d of yours.

I decided taht with my second character I wouldn't throw away my money so easily. I already knew most of what I liked and disliked so that helped.

 

Plus I limited myself to no money tricks, no dubstas and so on. There is no "hard" mode so I try to limit what I can use and see how I do with that.

 

So far it feels more rewarding.

If you are level 5, you only need to get to level 6 and keep it there, then you can abuse the glitch to change your main character's appearance as many times as you like.

 

Until they patch it, then it'll really be like 'if the wind blows, your face will stick like that'.
