How was the vehicle damage in next gen consoles..i saw R* write one of the features which is included in next gen saying "Improved vehicle damage" something like tht..how was it..is it better than the last gen..and wht do u prefer..GTA IV damage or GTA Vs...for me i prefer GTA V cause in GTA IV the cars flex too much

From what I've seen, it doesn't look much different, perhaps a tad downgraded. (You can't bend your doors or roof anymore I believe, compensating for first person.)

No big deal for me personally.

Its objectively worse than last gen all thanks to stupid decision and fps mode. The entire cabin is immune to deformation. The doors, the roof and the nearby areas will never warp so you can smash the engine compartment and trunk areas into oblivion and the cockpit will remain perfectly intact. So retarded. I would so much be happier with them kicking you out of first person when the car is too heavily crumpled rather than disable the damage on the cockpit area

Responds better to minor damage such as scratches and minor knocks in the car but is worse to heavy deformation

Rockstar actually promised "Enhanced damage and weather effects" not enhanced damage effects to vehicles specifically. There has been improved environment damage (impacts from bullets on objects looks better, damage to the body and 'splatter' effects greatly so) and also to a lesser degree, vehicle damage.

To answer the OP's question, damage effects on vehicles has improved superficially (glass damage is much better, much better scratch/dent detail) but deformation has not really changed from last gen

From what i've seen they are, not alot but they are. Problem with GTA 4 was exaggarated damage at lower speeds.

Not really,at least by real life standars. if anything gta iv was very forgiving. Crash a car at 80mph in V and you will be lucky to get a dent and busted headlights.

The detail is increased in next gen but vehicles are still tanks.

More damage and more gravity IMO. Also I think it's not the key point here. The damage system isn't worse than IV or anything.. it's just different. How badly a car is damaged depends on how fast it's going (but this isn't always accurate either). I kind of like it this way, though. The slightest bump to a car in GTAIV would damage it. It's annoying.

I notice a nice effect when you do the switch character to repair vehicle trick, your car will be fixed but will still have a bump map effect all over it, which is kinda cool, looks like it just had a quick panel beating back into shape.
