I've had little issues here and there with the game, none to where I gotta contact them and be like "HAY ROCKSTAR MY GAME CRASHES ITS UR FAULT, FIX IT IN 5 MINS OR ELSE"

 

Once you get older, I've realized that being patient with things, really works in the long run. If heists aren't released before or with the PC, I'll be slightly upset.

 

The only thing I'm currently disappointed in, is the lack of communication we have with them.

Rockstar and Rockstar Support are 2 different groups, Rockstar Support screwed me out of a musket that I bought legitimately, which I lost with LTS. Rockstar just delays sh*t at the last minute.

I gave up on rockstar months ago with the heist delays and now find the game pretty dull having started a brand new character for XB1.

Well if we are going to use that argument, I would say if R* cared the PC Release would not have been delayed less than 2 weeks out from its indicated Release Date and the PC Release would have been available at the same time as the PS4/Xbone Release Versions.

 

Almost all Releases I see now that are still cross platform & cross generation have PS3/PS4/360/Xbone & PC all Release at the same time.

I don't think Rockstar support should reflect well or poorly on Rockstar because it seems like it's outsourced to people who have never even played the game, though it really depends. Anyway I lost my Roosevelt to a glitch and the guy kept asking me to provide info I had already provided (like console, region, etc.) so I just gave up and glitched it back into my garage (in exchange for allowing someone to glitch my z-type into theirs).

or maybe they knew about the bugs since the Christmas update that involve the Valentines update and they have yet to fix it and they waited to the day before Valentines to realize it was important. so in my opinion they don't care

Meh, no company gets a pass from me. I don't give into loyalty, and I'll bash any company when I feel they're dipping below expectations. Putting Rockstar into perspective, they are probably the single greatest game developer since the old days of Capcom. But with that said, they have been pretty sloppy over the past year. The utter failures they've made to meet a few deadlines is almost laughable.

 

They have what, 9 studios with hundreds of devs, and they can't meet deadlines? Purely circumstantial, I know, but it reeks of incompetence, even if the expectations of the quality of the product are met. Sure, take your time Rockstar; I'd rather you do that then hand us a half-completed game, but get your sh*t together. You don't boast about not meeting deadlines on your job resume, do you? Not good.

It is funny how I see it the other way around. In my (humble) opinion Rockstar cares very much because they delay their products. Here is why:

 

- Rockstar budgeted resources (people, money, etc) to have its products (updates, games, ports, etc) released on a specific date. This original amount of resources is equivalent to 100% budget

 

- Rockstar spends 100% of their resources by the deadline and determined that the product to be released is still not good enough for the public (us), so they go over their budget in order to get extra resources to keep working on the product (and set a new timeline). This means they spend more than they thought the product would have cost initially, but they do it anyway because they are not the greedy pigs many think they are.

 

People, please realize that each time they delay the release date they are increasing their costs beyond their initial plan. This is not good for R*, it is only good for the customer who will receive a better product, for the same price.

 

It seems sometimes people forget how businesses work when it comes to videogames

i don't believe it, my friend recently lost everything, literally everything, money, modded cars, apartments and rp. He emailed rockstar a few days ago and got a reply back from them the following day, they told him how to regain his rp back. Then the day after that he emailed them again saying that he lost a lot of hard working money and apartments, and rockstar replied him back a day afterwards how to get those back too. Rockstar has been so kind and understanding, i really don't know why people are so against them.

They 'care' because he is a"paying customer"...... no other reason.... period

I actually kinda disagree with ya XS, I mean in the past before patches etc where even a thing game companies would release a game within deadline, not complete, full of bugs etc...but it was cool cos they said it would come out on the 12th and it did...for example

 

now R* have very big ambition, we know that purely based of history....I can assure you that all of their personal are not working on gta online and its computer programming we are talking about...it takes aaaages...if theres a bug or problem discovered it must be fixed no matter how long it takes, if you are doing something and think of ways to make it better and improve on it along the way they should do so.....

 

look how relentless, unforgiving and impatient people have been to them since gta v was released....like seriously go on there social cub posts, there facebook posts and even here, its f*ck R* this, cockstar this, wheres heists....jheeze, give em a break, its a video game not an intel processing program...its entertainment

 

they see these comments and it puts pressure on them, so now they wanna take time and make sure its good, id rather wait for good content personally

 

and also I don't think a company has a "deadline" they are not like students trying to hand in their essay, they are giving us a product within a timeframe...if they tell us the timeframe, everyone expects, if they don't tell us, everyone says they are leaving us in the dark, they cant win

I lost my Cheetah a few days ago so I sent in a Ticket. I logged on today to find that my bank account was still the same ($340,000) and they removed my f*cking Homing launcher. What the actual sh*t, R*! I paid like $60,000(or was it $80,000) for that thing!

I was level 88 and my character got reset to level 1, Nov 2013, to Jan 2015, all that time wasted could have done something else. I emailed Rockstar and suprisingly they restored my progress. I guess they do care.

I understand what you're saying here, LL, but I think you misunderstood my sentiment. I made it a point to say that Rockstar is probably one of the single best developers out there right now, but they're not perfect. They've completely botched a few deadlines - that's a fact, and in any business, meeting deadlines is an imperative, because in this circumstance, accountants are pressured to finish the quarterly reports for investor relations. The only difference this time around is that Rockstar isn't meeting a Q4 report deadline for holiday revenue streams. Take Two has essentially punched a ticket for year two, and considering Heists will be free, the only real source of revenue for Q1 and Q2 will be PC sales. So they basically killed off any hope of a deadline or release date for Heists.

 

The point I'm trying to make is that criticism is healthy. It forces companies to develop stronger products and solutions for their already existing products, even if it's already amazing. Yes, for every well-thought-out consumer feedback, there's always going to be your average "cockstar" replies, but there are criticisms of Rockstar worth discussing, and that's what I'm trying to voice.

 

BTW, Apple gets away with a lot of sh*t because they're the media darlings of the tech world. When Steve Jobs denied that there was an issue with the antennas in iPhone 4, people believed it. The truth came out months later. He was a genius in that sense of the word, but Apple continues to get away with things like that. xD RIP Jobs
