Just About Everything Has Been Delayed

Source?

Yes the original game was delayed but I don't recall there being a delay with next gen versions except for PC due next month.

Heists aren't delayed because they've not set a date yet only announced them though given we are 1 month and 9 days to the PC

version it's not looking promising.

I don't recall there ever being an apartments specific DLC and we've had apartments interiors updated in game already.

The fact that people even get pissed off that a company delayed something is mind-boggling to me and what's even more mind-boggling, is that when a company doesn't delay something and releases it full of issues, people still get pissed off and claim the company should've delayed it.

In all honesty OP. it's bit of joke, how they cant stick to their statements and schedules. Just the heist DLC has been delayed more times than anything.

It was meant to be released at launch, then a few weeks after, then early 2014 the Spring, then last winter, and now... God only knows

Some of the stuff you mentioned wasn't delayed.

More to the point, how the f*ck can you complain about things being delayed? Are you honestly telling me you'd rather have the usual crap EA churns out that is unplayable for atleast the first few weeks over a wait which ensures you get the product you pay for?

All that would have happened is an unfinished game would have been released and then while people are still playing, they would throw countless patches at it trying to fix something that should never have been a problem.

Destiny took their game offline to perform maintenance and the amount of people complaining was ridiculous, mainly the same people that moan because nothing gets fixed.

If robots start making games, there won't be any bugs to find so there would be no thousands of hours of QA testing needed. They could work on the game 24/7 missing nothing as well, their coding would be perfect, millions of variables accounted for in just a week. They don't need sleep or food either. Someone needs to tell rockstar.

Don't they delay it to make the game "the best it can be" though? That's alright by me. Actually, a lot of game companies delay games to give extra time to polish and other stuff the game so it's not just Rockstar).

Example: Red Dead Redemption was delayed and look how that turned out. GOTY 2010 and it's story beats most movies out there.

I'm picturing Rockstar hard at work ^

I believe the 'apartments dlc' is the 'mansions dlc' (buy a mansion in online) that has never been announced but people in Online feel has been delayed - it's just a rumour, nothing more. Which proves that gamers convince themselves of things that aren't real all too often.

Unless I've missed this mansions dlc being announced, though I find that incredibly hard to believe.

P.S. OP is a serial complainer.

P.P.S. Almost every game of this generation has been delayed, and most of the games released in the last year of the PS3 were. It's just a result of developers being forced to release on dates set by publishers. I prefer my games complete, rather than released juts to fit an arbitrary release date set by people that aren't even making the game.

Lol if he meant NillxModz apartment manager!

But he just might mean the High Life DLC. It introduced a second property and was delayed a few weeks. One reason I don't blame R* for being quiet, a couple of weeks delay and everybody got butthurt.

Once again, like someone previously mentioned, look up the story of Half Life 2 episode 3 for perspective and stop whining.

Firstly it was the game itself being delayed.

Then the next gen versions.

Then the apartments DLC.

Then the PC version.

Now the Heists DLC.

I guess Rockstar have sh*tty management.

Thoughts?

Apartments dlc?

OP. You are retarded as f*ck for believing all these rumors. JUST TELL ME WHERE WAS IT MENTIONED BY ROCKSTAR THAT THERE WAS EVER GOING TO BE A "Apartments dlc"???

DO YOU ALSO WANT "My pets" DLC?

Well I will add that Rockstar stated in early 2014 that they were gonna release SP DLC later that same year with more adventures coming from the 3 protagonists in an expansion to the main story.

It's now February 2015 and it's been over a year.

Don't they delay it to make the game "the best it can be" though? That's alright by me.

That clearly did not happen with V. It would have been very alright by me if what you say had been the case, but it was not, so that made the situation of delays even worse for Rockstar. V does not feel like that a game that took 5 years to develop, nowhere near it.

However, I will take the extremely rare moment to defend Rockstar and debunk the OP's claim that they promised apartment DLC (in SP I assume), because I'm sure they never mentioned anything about that. All I know is that very annoyingly, apartments and their interiors are only available in online mode and always have been.

By "apartments DLC" what I was referring to was the multiple apartment DLC and extra apartments that were released sometime last year, that DLC was delayed.

And as said above, the delays were even more disappointing by the number of features V was missing but implied to have. Let's see, like the SP buyable safe houses

Your abortion was delayed

It's only a video game - then again you probably and very strangely take it seriously enough to say that. It's incredible how serious nutters on here like you take this sh*t. Saying that to someone because you don't like what they said about your favorite video game or game developer.

Just when you think you've seen it all.

@ Ambient, yeah heard you cool :^:

Rockstar does have a management problem. They need to hire more people so they can get things done on time. They can afford it.

OP has a point. R* has kept silent for too long now as-well, wonder why people are losing interest? Its because there's nothing besides the trailer (which was released 2 months ago may I remind you) to get hyped from...

Exactly ^

I'm bored. I've been waiting for years. Firstly for the game and now for them to finish the game, and to be quite frank, "in a few weeks or so" doesn't cut it. Rockstar have shown terrible management/PR in this case and they need some serious, consistent competition to keep them on their toes. They got lazy with V by ignoring muchly demanded features like buying houses in SP and various side missions, plus many more things, and in my opinion it's damaged the game. Add to that they're bastardising the core aspect of grand theft auto - single player - by prioritising MP which is atrocious. This isn't the grand theft auto I thought I'd be getting back in 2011 when I sat for hours on November the 2nd (or was it the fourth) waiting for the trailer. Many things implied in the trailer(s) did not show up. This feels like a watered down grand theft auto because it lacks functions I'd naturally expect from the next evolution in the series. It was heralded as a return to the San Andreas style of gameplay yet the countryside is the only aspect of this I see to reminisce it.

Don't tell me the makers of the best selling game of all time can't hire more staff to get things done quicker. 4 assassination missions FFS?! That's shoddy. Absolutely shoddy. Also, where are the crime side missions? This game is half baked to say the least and the story is one of the series' worst imo, even LCS had a better story.

And look where we are again: back to knowing duck all about what's happening with the story DLC and heist DLC, absolute joke.

when a company doesn't delay something and releases it full of issues, people still get pissed off and claim the company should've delayed it.

I think it's more an issue of "set a realistic release date," not "you should have delayed this." Nobody wants delays; it would just be nice if companies had a better idea of how long they actually need to do something. When something shoddy is released, it's pretty obvious they jumped the gun (just my opinion).
