The Dedito Gae
Sorry for the lame title, anyways, as you know a lot of effort in V was made in creating an area that almost nobody visits, the sea floor level, there's nothing there except some collectables, cool easter eggs and a creppy sight of the dark abyss of the infinite ocean... My question is, is the sea floor worth the disk space? The whole feature should be scrapped or there's potential in the sight of cement shoes mobsters, buried pirate treasures, sunken ship exploring and underwater dolphin knife fight? Please post your opinions regarding the future of the sea floor in the series. Edited February 17, 2015 by Midnight Hitman
PhillBellic
It is a lame title. I would have called it something like "The Underwater Abyss". Anyway onto my point, it did look very detailed, and was an intriguing development for the game, however I would have preferred the developers focus less on it, and place more of their attention into developing a great terrestrial environment. American Viking
I like it and hope to see it return better and expanded on in the future. My main issue with exploring the sea floor was navigation. Getting around in a turtle sub with all the rocky cliffs proved troublesome and annoying. Missions could even take place underwater in the future. The bigger waste of disc space to me is all of the mountains and slopes on the mainland. Pointless because they serve no purpose. At least the underwater area has collectibles and can be fun for exploring and wasting a few hours. KingAJ032304 and The Dedito Gae
WildBrick142
The sea (or at least all map files marked as "sea") is only 335.195MB in size on last gen (Xbox 360). That is only 2.01% of disc space. So yeah, I guess it's worth the disc space considering it barely takes up any space. Though there is not much use for the sea, I like that R* made it. It's a nice detail that makes the map look better. Look at previous GTA's and their empty, flat and even nonexistant seafloors. VC and SA to some extent had nice amount of details but they still felt a bit empty. I don't usually go diving in V, but when I do at least there is something to keep me underwater for a while. tranceking26
It was good to have but out of all the hours I played on V, I probs only spent about 15 minutes underwater, and some of that was in a mission. Algonquin Assassin
Well it depends on the location. Even though I thought the time and energy R* put into GTA V's ocean could've been better used else where I can understand why they done it being based on Southern California. If it's based on Boston, Detroit, Chicago etc or even Carcer City what sense would it be to create a detailed ocean for those locations that aren't exactly the most inviting for deep sea exploration? If they go back to VC of course, but anywhere like I said should just have the standard un-divable ocean like most GTAs. Hell they might do something completely different and give us a landlocked map with no ocean at all. imdonenow
Drunken Cowboy
I don't even like boat missions, let alone diving and submarines. donnits

donnits
I rarely use it. Swimming is good and having an ocean is definitely better than a landlocked map with invisible walls, but diving and having a detailed sea floor isn't needed, in my opinion. Also, since GTA V has the 'hidden from the cops' feature (minimap arrow turns grey), do you become hidden underwater? I don't think you do, but i may be wrong. If you don't, then that's a missed opportunity.
CatsWontDance
I love the ocean in V, I have so much fun doing rampages at sea. I just wish there were more boats for different tactical uses. I use diving for stealth reasons like evading police and getting the drop on enemies in certain Online missions. (Hint: islands make good sniper positions.) As far as the ocean floor and animals and sunken ships, it's nice to have it, it's definitely pretty. But here's a video I just did a couple days ago of a boat rampage: Edited February 20, 2015 by CatsWontDance
