Will the sad trombone glitch result in a money wipe?

I was initially worried about this too. I went from $16 million to $32 MILLION from the Rat Loader + sad trombone horn combo.

Thats some serious dedication right there. I got bored after i made 1 million.

The game is not supposed to give you the Sad Trombone horn free. By doing things in a certain order you're forcing the game to give you something you should be paying for, for free.

I am sure it was embarrassing enough for R* the first go that a Money Wipe was required since they "forgot" to Encrypt the Tunables originally...they are not going to perform another Money Wipe coming up 17 months after Launching Online since it would effectively be admitting they still have limited control over their Online game despite all the time they have had to fix Bugs/Exploits.

That's not true at all. If you din't change the factory suspension you would always have the horn for free and not do anything to get it. Stock suspension = free sad trombone horn. That is not a glitch or forcing the game to do something else it is in the programming. It is programmed to be free with stock suspension. Besides, the only way anyone could know that is was a glitch is if they were the one who programmed it and could say for a fact that it was not operating as intended.

If you go to the horn section without going to suspension first... You're going to pay for the horn. If you go to any of the mods you're going to pay for the horn. Only when you specifically go to suspension then to the horn section do you get the horn for free. The fact that you can do the same steps and get that results EVERYTIME without failure means it's a glitch.

 

All the above explanation ignores the obvious "fix" that Rockstar made by lowering the price of the horn which is also an indicator it is a glitch.

 

Now if you can show me in the game where we're supposed to get a free car horn with our suspension...then I'll concede the point.

 

Until then I make no excuses for getting 36,000 (now 29,000) over 23,000. And you shouldn't either.

When someone is "glitching", they are going outside normal means of gameplay to accomplish something.

 

Like duping cars, getting cars like the Marshall in your garage, the hooker glitch, the billionare days, etc. Forcing the game to do what you want.

 

 

Regardless of any of our defintions of what glitching is, I don't think there will ever be another money wipe. Not withput another billionare days.

one didnt have to go out of normal gameplay to do the hookers glitch or 99% of other duping glitches.

 

just like the sad trombone, one just had to do certain thing in a specific order to trigger the error in the code aka the glitch.

 

samething happen with the sad trombone. you have to do something in certain order to trigger the error that would cause the horn to be free.

 

 

its surprising that R* have not removed the horn as a way of "fixing" this glitch.

 

i remember when the Independece update introduced the pegasus delivery glitch. if your ordered a tank of whatever land vehicle, if it get delivered to the vespucci police station it would teleport to fort zancudo when you got near the police station.

It also ruined it for those who occasionally liked bringing hookers into the garage to watch them wander aimlessly and pointlessly, bouncing around the garage like some sort of pinball. (If you try to bring a hooker into your garage now, it says you cannot bring NPCs into your garage or something along those lines.)

Yes it is NOT a glitch but it is exploiting the nature of the game which is what they say when they leave in a loophole and wish to punish the people who take advantage of said loophole

Some nut wrote the code. It happens. One thing I've noticed over twenty plus years of playing is there are lots of Easter eggs.

Someone goofed as they always do. They "fix" one thing and break ten others.

 

The Dubsta 2s are something they wrote in the code. That was something deliberately written into the New Gen game.

 

The horn glitch is a mistake, otherwise they wouldn't have tried to "fix" it by lowering the price.

OP: Probably not - for starters, R*'s done a mild 'nerf' of sorts on it already, and it really doesn't compare to the ridiculous modded money lobbies and billion-dollar bounties that necessitated the wipe in the first place.

Big difference between players exploiting a minor bug to make car sales more profitable (after all, even without, custom Dubsta 2s still make good, easy, legit money), and modders putting game-breakingly large sums of money into the accounts of people who didn't want it - mainly because in the latter case, it's people ruining other players' experience (by making them look like they'd been cheating, and thus risking a ban for something modders had done to them).

Even compared to dead prostitute/'Adder bonds', it's a much more benign exploit, since it doesn't require some complicated wangling to pull off - heck, it's possible for players to do it purely by accident, if they alter a car's suspension and then notice the horn being free.

 

That, and technically it's on R* - something in a patch glitched the horn value, and folk are taking advantage of it while it lasts. Maybe R* will figure out how to fix it, or perhaps just offset the bug even further by drastically lowering the horn value - in that case, the game's up, fun while it lasted. But it'd be an overreaction to penalise players, just because R* dropped the ball (and players ran with it! ).

They have never wiped money from anyone other than the dns modders. You know since I've met most the car dupers on the various fourms now the average amount of money they have is between 60-100 million and none of them have ever lost a cent. btw right now you can make 2 million in 30 minutes easily so I don't know why anyone is talking about sad horns.

The free sad trombone is an obvious software bug, AKA glitch.

 

All these bugs are the fault of Rockstar, not the people discover or exploit them. All software has bugs in it even if you invest in top quality testers, doesn't change the fact they are the developer's responsibility.

I made a thread awhile back that talked about money wipes. Rockstar only wiped money because at the time people being gifted billions was way out of control. Since then other money making methods were not as wild as the billionaire days. There will be no wipe unless money gets out of control again.

This. The money wipe wasn't due to glitches, especially not these small time glitches we see nowadays. The money wipe was due to billions, and billions, and billions and billions of modded dollars PER PLAYER flooding Rockstar's virtual economy.

Sad horn glitch is glitch. When changing suspension make sad horn free. This game not "supposed to do". This glitch.
