Question for you online players

I see them a lot as I often jump from session to session looking for them....and tanks....and players hiding in a wall breach.

less, much less......i see now maybe one jet every lobby.....and less, while i remember tanks pre nerf....well you saw atleast one of those every session.

i think the bad sport lobbies are doing a good job(cant be any weapon since jets are realy hard to take down, even with the new guided missile, and grievers dont stop grieving by themselves)

In fact last time I played, this weekend, I made a bee line for a guy in a tank and by the time I got there, he had been dealt with.

To be honest OP, not too many. Generally the would be assassin or myself would be disconnected or timed out, before someone had the chance, or for myself to see.

 

Also, i would argue that since the passive mode feature on next gen has been dramatically improved, people don't use jets that often, because once somebody goes into passive mode, someone in a jet cannot kill them. And when we talk 'jet' we are talking about Lazer's ?, i would highly appreciate it for some clarification, thank's.

I hardly see people in Jets anymore, sometimes when I join I notice 2-3 Jets but they quickly crash and burn or get taken out by homing launchers

Yes I am talking about the lazer when I say jets. Also do you thing their op or should be nerfed. I personally thing they are good the way they are due the decent level of skill needed to not crash as well as passive mode and the homing launcher keeping pilots on their toes. I dan't see near as many now since the Christmas update

In the last 6 months, across both 360 and X1, I've beenin only 2 public lobbies with one jet each in them.

 

I hardly ever go invite only and have been on maybe 3 times a week. The two jets that I did see weren't going crazy griefing people either. Just hunting bounties. One of them would share the bounty with whoever they got it from as well.

Would you say their op or does the homing launcher and having to go to the military base to get one balance it out? I think it balances it out

the first thing i did when the homing launcher came out was try to figure out if it was broken as i get in a jet a lot to stunt around and be an occasional a-hole(it depends who im playing with) but yeah it balances out. i did figure out ways around the homing launcher, wont say what but its pretty simple most people will figure it out eventually

Not sure what "generational" difference there might be, but for myself, I have seen very few in the past week or so. And the few the I did see were harmless. Just some kids flying around the city not shooting weapons.

 

There were waayy more before the release of the current gen version, so that prolly has something to do with it from what I can see.

not often. In the last week I was the only person using a jet (hunting some bounties). Still more common than tanks though, I've only seen one since I started playing PS4 version in November...

Man.....i need to get on what ever system you guys are on. No jets, and the one's you see are "nice". On 360, they are still everywhere, the homing launcher has no hope against them, and they for damn sure ain't good guys.

This^^^for me it's still pretty common to see a jet ever 2 or 3 sessions. It really depends on the pilot whether they ruin the whole session.

 

Most of the time a jet will last only a few minutes before crashing. But then you get the k/d freaks that will target everything in session and because that's all they do they're pretty good at it. That's when passive becomes necessary.

 

Oh yah... THE HOMING LAUNCHER DOES NOTHING AGAINST A JET. A single vertical loop evades a missile easily.

Not sure either. I was by the miltary base, flying low and not even hitting the throttle. My friend locked on and I was out of range. The timming for it is off or something.No, it's just really hard because the jet can out maneuver the sh*t out of the missile...and the jet in general is just faster than the missile...I don't remember ever taking down a jet with the homing missile, but I have taken down everything else with one

Took one out last week with one. Felt accomplished!

I have a really good success rate taking down lazers with the homing launcher. You can't just aim and shoot, you have to hold until you get the red lock, while trying to keep the jet centered in the sight. Once you get that and fire, that damn missile will amaze you. I had one jet flying straight at me, I got good and locked on early, fired while he just getting to me, he went over my head, and the missile made an unbelievably quick u turn and got his ass quick. It's all about getting the red lock and keeping your target as centered in the sights as possible. Practice it and you'll be amazed. Doesn't work every time of course, but it does work.

PS4: I think there's been a recent renaissance of jet flying. Most sessions >10 people I've been in the last week have had jets.

I have never, since the online came out, seen someone in a military jet, people in non-weaponized ones like the luxor yeah. P-996 Lazer, no. never.

Every day I see at least one (PS3). Yesterday there were two red Lazer on a killing spree. I decided to annoy them with my Besra the same way I like to annoy Buzzard pilots. One of them destroyed my plane while I was doing a 360 to get away from him. It was a win for both of us - I enjoyed being chased by him & he enjoyed killing me. Good times.
