Everyone's so serious these days. Especially for a bunch of people that play video games as a past time and are even that extra step nerdier to be on a forum to talk about said game. Don't like it? Move on.

Right back at you. If you don't like how serious we are about these matters, why are you getting involved?

Touché.

OT: I've already started bothering everyone I know with a Steam account. I successfully got three other people to purchase it on consoles and I've started work on three more with Steam. Of course, it might be a tough nut to crack; they still play TF2!

Look, I get it: you're trying to show R* that we care, and you want more people to play GTA V on PC so that they start putting more attention towards the PC version now (and in the future), but this is not the way to do it!

Despite the console players mocking us for only getting the PC version after years of waiting, they know we're going to have the best version performance wise, graphics wise, and content wise (mods and what not). If we make community content appealing enough for console players to make a large jump over, then hey, we're golden.

Besides, look how well GTA V is doing on Steam alone, it's STILL on the top sellers page!

We don't need to shove GTA V down people's throats, they'll come if they want to (and by the look of things a lot of them have).

Don't I only have 2 topics? This is the only bullsh*t one, and that's just because of how I presented it and stylized it.

I appreciate the funny responses that joked on me because that's the "background tone" of the thread, but when you say stuff like that it would probably hurt my feelings if I didn't have sympathy for that kind of talking instead.

I'm not mad though. It's to be expected when you present an idea in the spirit of the series' sort of tongue in buttcheek jokes like I did here, and just there, just now.

But some of us had fun, and let me tell you why behind the humor there is some measure of importance to the ideas suggested in this thread;

Products are not sold on marketing alone. We're the result of the marketing. There's aftermarketing that occurs that is the most crucial stage of any project. It's the stage in which the product is no longer in your hands, and the audience must now decide.

Successful marketing isn't about how many people you reach. It's about how many of them are going to promote your product aftermarket. The wider base consumer is not the main target in successful promotion, the main target is the people who will sell your product for you.

PC gamers lack in this regard. Steam has us doing it without even knowing we're doing it, with all of the ways to see game libraries and who's playing what on Steam - it makes word of mouth implied and free.

To be right and true about it for you, even the people who were mean and didn't like the style still had some decent points in perspective so far (most were, anyhow). Why should we actively promote the game?

But, shouldn't we?

It is GTA V and it is coming to PC. Do you know why the game is as late as it is? It's because as soon as this game hits, this hilarious-for-some, bane-it-seems-to-others thread is going to be even funnier because it's exactly what every PC gamer is going to be doing - Recommending and playing GTA V.

"Well, what's your point?" you may ask;

When this game hits PC, the youtubers who are the bane of some of these members' existences are going to start having much, much better content. Mods, higher quality footage, some edited in the film editor, something the youtube channel for gtamissions is famous for when livening their videos with the cinematic editor on PC for GTA IV, for example.

Now you might not get where I'm coming from with as little as I've elaborated in the latter half of this message, but maybe some do understand what kind of thing is about to happen. The game's delays allowed for it to be better, and better, and better - more time to work on the game is always good. Especially when you have hardware like a PC that you can even keep improving post launch on and on without really tedious console updates - but will your users make that lucrative for you to do? Will your fans send you the message that PC is where GTAOnline should be.

And think about how popular GTA V still is. You'd think this game just came out within the last 30 days by how much people post stories, videos, news site coverage - when this thing comes to PC, it is going to be astounding for us all, on either side of the wall, maker to player, player back to maker. If PC gamers play their cards right.

If the cup is only half full, a person reading this might naysay, doubt, downtalk, and be dismissive about things.

But that is why we can't have nice things. And this is how we can.

A lot goes unsaid. I'm sure my message is reaching the people who appreciate it though, and my reaction to negativity or other disapproval is just that I'm sorry if I wasted your time in particular, but some of us are having a good time.

Perhaps now the discussion can take a turn toward being more productive with what's been suggested here. Man this took a while to explain.

I actual;ly doubt they have computers capable of handling the game on ultra. They most probably have media laptops IMO. I mean if you dont have a decent mic and record in 720 like cmon most of them wont have mean rigs

LOL How are you different with this "holier than thou" statement? Like "uh you guys dont get it, this thread is funny lol"

Maybe some of us want to see threads that are interesting to read. not just people ranting and trolling. What did we learn from this strupid thread? Nothing.

Booty Warrior

The glorious GTA V master race will vanquish those smelly peasants that do not play the superior game that was forged by the gods themselves

No longer will the foul stench of valve pollute our fellow gamers minds with inferior first person shooters and may half life 3 be delayed to oblivion

May sam and dan houser watch over us

My point was not to sound "holier than thou"; my point was that this was a joke thread. It seems obvious when you read the OP. I understand that people want actual content but everyone appears to be reading more into this thing than there is. Or, maybe I'm not taking it as seriously as it was intended.

Anyways, we're all here to kill time to wait for the game to be released. A few reduced content topics aren't the worst thing that could happen. Remember the porn threads?
