PSN won't update

I've been trying to download the new system software update but I keep getting an SU30709-9 error (Could not download). Has anybody else been experiencing this issue?

I just got Version 2.04 out of nowhere and a quick Internet Search revealed no information about this Version being out yet? Either way I have it Downloaded and Installed.

 

Oddly enough when I click on System Software Update to try and get details about it, I get the Error Code you mentioned above...I honestly have no idea what is going on.

Looking on reddit it appears I am not the only person having this problem. The people who have managed to install it say the PSN still isn't working for them.

Although I have Software Version 2.04 Installed (I started Console and for some reason it Downloaded when it is not for most people), anytime I do anything that requires PSN I get Error SU-30709-9; so PS Store, Trophies and even the Overviews of games etc.

 

Edit: PSN now completely down for me. At least I have the Update I guess.

Mine would download a liitle bit, restart several times, and then give me the error.

It seems that Sony released the update right now on accident. The update came out of nowhere and if you go to "view details" it says access denied. Also, if you mange to download the update and install it, once you're done PSN is down.

Thank you sir, very good to know. I haven't been kicked offline yet, and from the looks of what's going on I won't be in a hurry to download it either. Hopefully Sony didn't send out brick ware to the population.

All working for me now on PS4 with Software Version 2.04 after Booting up after a 30 min break while playing PS3...for now at least.

PSN is working right now for me on PS4. For those who still can't download the update, just keep trying. Eventually the update will be download and installed piece by piece.
