Vehicles that GTA IV/EFLC had that GTA V is missing concept thread

Recommended Posts

I figured I would make a list of vehicles that GTA IV and EFLC had. They could show us some cars that we could get as a DLC in the future. They could be redesigned as well.It would be interesting if people were to design a concept of what those vehicles may look like if they were released as a DLC, and were redesigned.

Note: Try to base it off of the real life equivalent. So if the car that it was based off of in IV was redesigned, try and make it look like the redesigned car.

List of vehicles: (If I am missing any or misspelled any names, or included something all ready in the game let me know.)

Completely Redesigned Cars:

-Coquette

-Turismo

-Shafter (Older one from GTA IV. TBOGT version in V)

The Tampa, Faction, Sabre (Not GT/Turbo [can't remember]), Hakumai, Uranus, Willard, Moonbeam (where are all the Astrovan fans?). That's just to name a few that were cut for no reason.

L0SS4NT0SK1LL3RV

Cars:

- Turismo (Not Turismo R)

- Super GT

- Coquette (GTA 4 Variant not V's)

- PMP 600

- Super Drop Diamond

Helicopters:

- Police Maverick (GTA 4 Variant not V's, would be cool to have two different Police Helicopters)

Bikes:

- NRG 900 RR and F

- Double T Custom

- Hakuchou Custom

- All the missing choppers from The Lost and Dammned

Boats:

- Smuggler

Going to expand the list soon.

Thanks guys. I knew I was missing a few.

Also the Police Maverick in V looks like one of the other helicopters in the game. The beta had the one like IV.

I would say the APC but that is coming in the heists update.

But if I could choose two vehicles out of the list to add to V, I would go with the Super GT, and the Tug. It would be nice to have an Aston Martin based car in the game, and the Tug would be fun to have Online as other players can walk around your boat with out rag doling. Also in V, you can park vehicles on/in vehicles with out them sliding off.

While there are a few missing cars in GTAV, there's still TONS more cars in GTAV than any other GTA game.. so I'm not complaining.

Would be nice to see them bring back the old Coquette from GTAIV, seeing as those are far more common to see on the road in real life than the brand new Corvette Stingray they have in GTAV.

R* should just give us all the vehicles from IV, TLAD & TBOGT, well they should do it before the PC version launches or else modders will do it.

Most of the cars introduced in V pay no homage to the classic GTA's. They all look generic and similar to one another, I'd gladly be alright seeing IV cars replace V cars.

I think the minvan thing you're looking for is the 'Perennial'. No idea why, but it was one of my favourites from IV. Also, I miss the Marbelle. Old school swagga.

That could be it, unless he is referring to the Cabby;

PMP 600 & Super Drop Diamond were my favs.

Sabre is in V, OP. It's just the Sabre Turbo now.

I just want all TLaD's choppers back...

This! Especially bikes like the Revenant and Hellfury. Was really disappointed when all we got were a few choppers/cruisers and 900 sport bikes that all look the same.

I can't remember what the Super Drop Diamond or Super GT looks like

The Super Drop Diamond was a 2-door/convertible version of the Super Diamond.

The Super GT is basically the F620

Wow, there are a lot of vehicles missing. More than I thought. I will update the list as soon as I am on my computer.

FYI, I included the emergency vehicles because I thought it would be interesting to see somebody create a concept of an LCPD cop car in GTA V's time. Both in GTA and real life, cops in many cities and towns are using newer cars (newer than 2008).

Edit: Does anyone know of where I can get small thumbnail images of the cars? I don't feel like talking the screen shots myself. I guess the GTA Wiki is where I can get them?

Can some one with the technical know how tell us if it's easier for us to ADD (not replace) vehicles to GTA V once PC drops (assuming modding won't be a cluster f*ck initially like GTA IV)?

I mean, R* has managed to add a lot vehicles through their DLCs, so I assume there's an easier method now than with previous GTA titles!

If that's the case, adding all these vehicles back won't take too long (but we will have to create a working and detailed interior for them, including working dashboard dials).

I was thinking the exact same thing. I have a feeling that adding stuff to V will be much easier than IV. I have a feeling that we can add vehicles without editing the game files. It is quite possible that we can do that with a lot of other stuff too. The game would think that the mods are DLC.

Also, seeing that GTA V is a 64 bit game, I have a feeling that it is much less restricted. When I say this, I'm talking about the fact that we could only add so many vehicles to past GTA's. We also could only add a certain number of map objects and weapons to past games. But in V, we possibly could add a LOT more vehicles, make larger maps with out deleting the original map, and add weapons too. Rockstar said themselves that they designed the engine so that they could add what ever they wanted later. They could add LC if they wanted.

So hopefully, the game will have a folder in it where we can add files with out replacing them.New files are loaded. If a file is in that folder that is already in the game, the one in the folder is loaded on top of it. It is sorta how they do DLC. On Xbox 360, I know that the files for the updated game are in a separate location from the original game. On PS3, Xbox One, and PS4, I'm not sure if the game files are replaced with new files, or if the new files are in a different location and loaded on top of the old files. If we could mod this way, it would be like the Mod Loader for GTA San Andreas. It has a mods folder, and the files for the mods are in each folder.

If it worked that way, it would be FANTASTIC!

-I wouldn't have to make multiple copies of the same game to have different sets of mods. Before, I'd fill up my hard drives with multiple copies of GTA. Not as much of an issue anymore because hard drives are much bigger. But with GTA V, it definitely will be an issue because it is 65 GB. I will need something so I can avoid replacing files, making it easy to install and uninstall mods. (In IV, I would modify mods file hierarchy so I can switch around a few files with ease. Replaced files are renamed, so all I have to do is switch around the gta.dat and default.dat, as well as the content.dat if I'm doing EFLC.)

-I can keep track of which version is which. If Rockstar changes something that I don't like, ie a lazy ass way of patching a bug which is more of a workaround.

-It will be easy to downgrade as well if it is necessary, like a patch has a game breaking bug.)

-Mods will be much easier to install. I can just drag and drop a folder containing the mods into a folder in the games directory. If I want to have the mod at a later time but don't want to use it now, I can put it aside in a different folder where the game won't see the files. It will also be easier for me to get my friends to download mods for it. They don't like downloading mods that are hard to install. So many amazing mods for GTA IV that I can't get them to install.

-I can launch the game from Steam and have the mods. In the past, the original install directory remained clean, while the other copies of it had the mods. Steam doesn't see multiple copies of a game unless I add it to my Library as a non Steam game. I also won't have my Steam Library get cluttered up with the many different copies of GTA with various mods installed.

Even if it's not a popular car, I'd like to have back the Pinnacle, I liked that car

-picture of pinnacle-

I agree, we need more sedans that "blend in". I've always preferred driving them over sports/super cars. Seeing that previous IV cars have been released, as DLC I still have hope for the Willard and the Hakumai which are my favorites.

Here's a list of GTA IV cars released as DLC:

  • Hakuchou
  • Rhapsody
  • Dukes
  • Stallion
  • Blista Compact

Returning cars with significant negative changes that make them unlike the IV versions (cars like the Coquette aren't included due to a total redesign):

  • Sultan (only in 4-door variants)
  • Feltzer (Huge bodykit, different headlight design)
  • Schafter (Missing first generation)
  • Voodoo (only in rusty variants)
  • Minivan (missing taxi variant)
  • Regina (missing beater variant with unique grill)
  • Stretch (missing Admiral variant)
  • Super Diamond (missing 2-door variant)
  • Bobcat (missing shortbed variant)
  • Rancher (missing shortbed variant)
  • Strainer (missing police and taxi variant)
  • Clavacade (missing FXT variant)

I don't expect them to add in any of the above but it's just there for reference I guess.

I think one of the problems with traffic in V is that there simply aren't enough 'normal' cars in traffic. Streets are full of sports cars, 50's classics, high end 4x4s and performance cars, 70's muscle cars, super cars etc.

It's rare to see a street in V populated with 'normal' cars. For 'normal' cars we only really have the Asterope, Stanier, Washington, Minivan, Premier and in next gen the Asea. And they all appear to be pretty rare on the streets compared to some vehicles such as the Tornado or Baller. You might consider these cars to be boring but I think by making the high end cars stand out a bit more and not everywhere it makes them more special, like in real life.

GTA IV had a special feel to it. LC is better than LS imo

I think the reason why there aren't any normal cars in V is because it's LA.

Cars in V don't even spawn in suitable locations. For example a high-end baller in davis (ghettos), but an emperor or manana in vinewood hills.

Rockstar left out the Dukes on Launch of GTA V...Adds it in next gen....are they stupid? they could've just replaced the ugly ass buccaneer with the dukes....

Why wasn't the Dukes included in the game to start with, back in September 2013?
