Suggestion For Improving Merryweather Mercenaries

Recommended Posts

Actually the whole merryweather service needs to be upgraded.

For example, the ammo drop, while it's not expensive, it could be improved, like dropping ammo you actually need (rockets, sticky bombs or grenades) and I don't see a lot of people using it.

I have no problem about the pick-up helicopter,it could be faster and be able to use rappel anywhere without having to reposition the waypoint on the map to get it right.

Mercenaries, better armed, stronger and smarter and OP's ideas could work.

Support helicopter, I feel the concept is very good, but sometimes fails to deliver said service. It does work sometimes, but improving it to actually follow you at high speeds and make it as deadly as the one in chop chop, then it could work.

Airstrike, needs to be re done completely, a flare is not good, everyone can anticipate the arrival, the deploy range is ridiculous and so the area of effect. Using a waypoint on the map, selecting a target or just using the grenade launcher for the flare and improve the range would be better that this, there are very good suggestions about this.

OP: great ideas.

It could cost more, though, to call a jet than the Mesas.

BTW, you can call a jet on jet griefer by calling airstrike, indirectly. As the griefer aggroes the NPC pilot, he goes after him...with dubious efficiency, of course. It should be improved. Call two jets. While the griefer dogs the first, the second goes on distance, turns and aimbots him.

I just roll by in my high end vehicle. Then they get hit with a $10k fee every time they kill me.

and if the griefer is in a tank, they should show up in a tank and challenge the griefer, i've long since learned to never mess with tank griefers, i just stay away from them, i can't afford the insurance bill.

great idea OP, I would like to see some more challenging, or at least smarter, mercenaries. I find they do good if the person is just driving around but if they climb a building or if a plane or some other place their mesas don"t go then your outta luck. at least you get the money back then. But yeah I'd pay good money to see someone in a lazer griefing people and have merryweather send out 5 lazers after him. Especially if you were close enough to see it happen.

Amazing, OP made a genuine suggestion regarding a subject that I've seem some people around bitch about. How weak and useless the mercenaries are. Yet when OP politely asks for opinions regarding said subject, people in here waste no time to shut him off and say "blah blah blah, change session, get better, beat the game's lag to snipe griefer in the head". Talk about how good of a community is this forum...

Regarding the suggestion, it's great! Provided it would cost more to bring a jet from the fort.

Additionally tanks should be left out since players could steal then and wreak havoc around without needing to buy the tank at all. Buzzards should be to handle then with AI's impeccable accuracy while firing missiles

This pretty much sums up my thoughts with this.

Nice idea OP, these steroid induced nutters with AK-47s should do better at their job when they're in the same game as the dreaded LSPD.

I laugh when people call mercenaries on me. Free RP and it costs them money.

If someone's in a tank and going around killing people,

  • Press "Start" or "Options" (on ps4)
  • Navigate to the "Online" tab and then down to "Find New Session"
  • Press X on Playstation or A on Xbox
Another option is,
  • Press "Start" or "Options" (on ps4)
  • Navigate to the "Online" tab and then "Leave GTA Online"
  • Once back in singleplayer follow step 1
  • Navigate to the "Online" tab and then "Play GTA Online"
  • Select "Invite Only Lobby" and press X on Playstation or A on Xbox

First of all, it only costs them money if you die. Personally, sometimes I almost want to just let them kill me, just so it WILL cost them money.

Secondly, as for your two options of how to handle the situation... Not everyone is a coward who runs away. Some people like to face their problems and deal with them.

Well if you're going to face your problems, don't be a bitch and call Merryweather.

c*nts like you are the people who constantly have double standards and complain about something when it's not going your way, and support the same thing when it is going your way.

"Facing a problem" doesn't mean limiting myself to the way I face it. Calling mercenaries is one way that this game allows me to face a problem.

It's idiots like you who think kills only count if you get them the way you approve of. Tell that to a real soldier. Tell a real soldier that when his position is about to get overrun by a larger force, he can't call for help. This game is combat, and in combat, you use EVERYTHING at your disposal to survive and win.

Using everything at your disposable is not the same thing as being a bitch-ass coward and running.

If you cannot understand that, or if you do but choose to limit yourself anyway, then your're just plain stupid.

And if you want an example of facing a problem head on, PM me for my home address and come call me a c*nt to my face, little bitch. I'll show you a head-on solution.

Regarding your first point, about ammo drops, you can choose what kind of ammo will be dropped by equipping the weapon you want ammo for. In other words, if you want grenades, equip grenades when you call for the ammo drop, and keep holding them until you pick up the package.

If you're out of something that you can't equip because you're out of it, then as long as it was the last thing you used, it's what will be dropped. For example, you can equip an empty gun, so that's not a problem...but you can't equip grenades if you're out. But if you throw your last grenade, then call for an ammo drop, you should get grenades.

At least, that's how I remember it was supposed to work. In practice, I have to admit I honestly don't use the ammo drop service much. I almost only use it for molotovs, and you'll always get three (if you're not already full with 24) with any ammo drop, regardless of what else is in the package.

Just thought of a solution to this. If the mercenaries were able to go after you in a tank, their tank will always be locked. You won't be able to steal it from them at all. That should prevent people from stealing the tanks from the mercenaries.
