Advice with a new YouTube channel?

Recommended Posts

Hey all, I recently decided to start filming my driving while playing GTA V with slidey cars on to try demonstrate just how well it would work as a full blown game mode/menu option.

The problem at the moment is that I have crap internet and my xboxs dvr hardly works, so I have been using my phone to film edit and upload, I do plan to upgrade and get a recording device to upload high quality content and have better editing tools, although I would like a little bit of a viewer base/see how my content is received before getting a better setup.

So far I have uploaded two videos that were rushed and don't have the best angles, just wanting some opinions/advice how to better my content and develop a following, I think I have something to offer as I'm not an annoying 6 year old, who just wants to trick people into watching glitch videos and stealing other peoples content.

Here's the videos:

Thanks heaps mate, my goal was never to ask for likes, views, subscribers or comments, unless I was asking for particular feedback in relation to a videos content, I've also looked for similar content and found nothing, mostly drift videos which I plan to do, I half uploaded these as a frustration that there was no similar content out there, that ought to give me an upper hand right?

The7thOne hit the nail on the head really, but I use to do YouTube videos for quite sometime and can definitely give you some advice, albeit reiterating some of the things that The7thOne said.

I'd recommend getting a capture card, the ones that most YouTubers stick with are ones such as the HDPVR2, Elgato HD Game Capture or the Black Magic Intensity Pro. There are a lot of choices out there but those three are the main ones that YouTubers and livestreamers will stick with. Sure, it's an expensive investment but if you're serious about getting into YouTube it's definitely recommended.

You mentioned that there isn't a lot of content that is similar to what you've done - this is good. With thousands of people attempting to get involved with YouTube (Especially gaming), most channels are very a like in the content that they do, things such as GTA V News, Tips, Rumors and Commentaries are literally at every corner. If what you're doing is fairly original, it'll push your channel out there against the others.

A good way to get your channel out there is to network with other YouTubers, doing videos with similar channels will not only build up your channel with them, but will also bring on some friendships too.

Aside from that, The7thOne definitely covered most of it, so on top of that have fun with it and good luck with your channel!

I advice you not to be one of those guys that go like:

"Hey scrub, subscrib and leave a liek..." - Video 1

"Hey scrub, subscrib and leave a liek..." - Video 2

"Hey scrub, subscrib and leave a liek..." - Video 3

"Hey scrub, subscrib and leave a liek..." - Video 4

"Hey scrub, subscrib and leave a liek..." - Video 5

I'll try my bst bt no prmises @landotel

If anyone cares to check I used a sketchy tripod/iPhone for another upload, I know it's no cap card but I'm waiting to start my new job.

Gamerdrive is the channel, I think I'm allowed to say that here, sorry for the 'advertising'.

I could've put it right on the screen but it gets bad streaking, which doesn't happen when I have it just set back a little, let me know what you think.
