Awful Waffle
wish he would've spoken about Le Scandal for a little longer than he did, but really stoked to see Louis back in the saddle. this lockdown is strangely both the best and worst time for standup comedy. all the live shows have been cancelled but new specials are being released on a weekly basis and views are blowing up. Mister Pink
Tom Green originally did stand-up before he did his show in Canada and then on MTV. But he's been doing it for the last 11 years and I think he's good. But I'm biased, been a fan of him since I was kid. And this is great.. "This is not happening" is supposed to be true stories told by comics. And Tom Green tells how he was fired by Trump on Celebrity Apprentice. The shear fact we live in an age where Tom Green has a funny story about his time with a president of the USA is bizarre in and of itself. mr quick
I've been getting really into Frankie Boyle recently, my favorite bits being when he decimates audience members... I don't typically go for the edgy comics anymore, but there's something roaringly hilarious about Boyle's delivery. Mister Pink
Mister Pink
@mr quickThat's a classic compilation ^ Another Scottish legend to get into is the perhaps somewhat underrated Kevin Bridges. Now, this is a must-watch. Not only is this bit hilarious but it's a true story of master of dark comedy Doug Stanhope helping euthanize his own mother. He writes about it his book and you can look the story up after. Edited May 15, 2020 by Mister Pink 𝙼𝚄𝚂𝙸𝙲 𝙽𝙾𝙽 𝚂𝚃𝙾𝙿

Haha, what are the odds of that? lol Watched this hilarious show for Deaf people. Bill Burr, Louis CK and Patrice O'Neal. What a lineup! Louis' set wasn't the greatest. His act definitely ages like wine. Bill Burr is surprisingly consistent. It's the same style, he's just younger. Jimmy
George Carlin, hands down. No one brings his level of “personal”, the raw emotional power, and his absolute “lack of f*cks”. This is the same dude that was crazy enough to get arrested over his material and his iconoclasm against the TV industry back in 1972. Notable Shout: Robin Williams. Who could forget this? Also, of late, stand-up comedy has caused quite a stir in India. It has grown so popular that Amazon Prime has a separate tab for stand-up comedy. Notable people include Biswa Kalyan Rath, Zakir Khan, Abhishek Upamanyu and Kenny Sebastian. Most of their jokes are satire of the Indian pop culture and centered around day to events/issues faced by the common man here. Webbie2689
Tough one for me. Carlin is probably my all-time favorite, although I wouldn't say he was the guy that made me laugh the most. Greg Giraldo is definitely up there for me. So many comedians I really enjoy, it's hard to narrow them down. Louis CK, Dave Chappelle, Bill Burr, Tom Segura, Bert Kreischer. Always loved Mitch Hedberg, Richard Pryor, Don Rickles as well. Just too many to count. Mister Pink
Mister Pink
Yeah I think different comics bring their own style and get you thinking in different ways for different moods. George Carlin for me is the greatest if you want some philosophical observations with some semi-serious social commentary about the state of things. And he make some profound points. His anti-authority humour I think appeals to many, especially across racial divides. Louis CK for me is when I just want to laugh. I love his humour is based on people. It's usually alway about people and their hypocrisies and idiosyncrasies. I love Louis CK for that good, edgy, slightly un-PC laugh at humans, and how disgusting and funny we are. Dave Chappelle just took one for the whole team. He put himself out there when comedy needs someone to stick it to the PC police and to defend a comic's right to get up on stage and say what they want for the art of comedy. He's his own man. He's in his own league and does things his way. Bill Burr is great for me like Patrice O' Neal is. He can open a bit with a controversial statement like saying there are "reasons to hit a woman" and which sounds really bad at first but then he can open it up and defend the statement with logic and reasoning but at the same time assert it's tongue-in-cheek and have self-awareness he "knows he's coming off pretty ignorant." He still makes a good point. He's great at tackling racial differences like Chappelle does and brings audiences together. White/black people can laugh at themselves in his humour and laugh at each other and it's never mean, just funny. Ricky Gervais is mix of an angriless Bill Burr and Louis CK. He's able to take the audience to the edge with very un PC humour or at least hold the audience hand and just bring them over the line a bit of what they thought they couldn't laugh at. Those are probably my top 5 comics. I've been lucky to see Louis CK and Tom Segura live. Both killed. My goal is to see Burr. He's just been so consistently good. Burr could probably do arenas but when he plays in my city he seems to do more theatre venues. I seen Louis CK in an arena and no self-respecting comedian should do arenas. They are too large. Surprised this whole thing is up 𝙼𝚄𝚂𝙸𝙲 𝙽𝙾𝙽 𝚂𝚃𝙾𝙿
