am30
Eddie Murphy just copied Richard Pryor I'm not sure that's entirely accurate... I am. Not saying he wasn't funny, just saying he wasn't original.
El Dildo
I'm gonna' say you're wrong. feel free to try and prove me otherwise, but I think you'll look silly in the process. no one has ever seriously accused Eddie of 'ripping off' Richard. so good luck.... Mister Pink
I cast a pretty wide net; a lot of my favorites include the bigger-than-life showfolks like Carlin - but I'm also a real sucker for one liners. Mitch Hedburg, Neil Hamburger, Steven Wright, Emo Phillips, Nick Thune... it's an interestingly pure take on the form. I got introduced to Neil Hamburger through Tom Green's webovision show. Been meaning to look him up more. My two favourites have to be Louis and Gervais right now though. To a lesser extent, Eric Andre. He's a comic but not a stand-up. He also has Hannibal Buress as a sort of co-star on the show too. El Dildo and Otter 2 𝙼𝚄𝚂𝙸𝙲 𝙽𝙾𝙽 𝚂𝚃𝙾𝙿

El Dildo
you weren't allowed to take pictures during the show, but this was our view of Bill Burr last night. such a great show, too. he went off on this 30 minute long rant about feminism and political correctness that was f/cking epic. then he was afraid that he lost the women in the audience, so he went off on a political rant for the next 20 minutes and killed em'. Zoobz
Burr is f*cking brilliant, just doesn't give a f*ck. His animated series was great as you mention Mister Pink. He has a podcast where he just rambles about his general life, worth checking out. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCXUjPDtQJ9mq1SbPgiyNyoA/videos El Dildo and Mister Pink

It's stupid to make the claim that any and all of any art form that comes from any particular nation, especially one of nearly 320 million individual human beings, is unlikable. Very stupid indeed. http://i516.photobucket.com/albums/u330/AlienTwo/GTA/PMBO/PBMO%20Porch%20Sig_2_zpsz7irpplx.png

El Dildo
it's just an ignorant position to take. no American comedy? why? I've seen and heard great stand up from all around the world. to dismiss an entire culture's contributions to the art-form of comedy just because they're from X or Y is retarded. it doesn't make any sense. Mister Pink
Yeah, that's a bit of an extreme sentiment. While sometimes I prefer the general 'style' or delivery of English/UK humour, more dry and subtle you can't deny legendary American comics like Burr, Louis, Carlin. I mean you could dissect the jokes of those 3 comics I listed by a team of acclaimed comics from all over the world and I'm sure they agree the humour is funny. USA is so diverse with so many different types of stand-up for you to enjoy using the English language, I'm a little dumbfounded as to why they all seem to display an underlying trait that's inherently American and not funny in your eyes. I'm listening to this in work this morning...what a f*cking legend. El Dildo
these were out seats last night for Jim Norton at the Paramount in Denver. I'm sorry for taking this from my snapchat instead of saving the original picture it was pretty great. it's awesome seeing stand up comedy from a guy like Jimmy during an election season like this one. just like when we saw Bill Burr in February, it all timely and topical material and the audience was getting into it. a heckler even got thrown out. it was great. X S
This story made me laugh a bit, because as I read the quotes, I was reading them in Joe Pesci's voice like a prank phone call with a Goodfellas soundboard. https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/arts-and-entertainment/wp/2016/04/12/joe-pescis-recent-advice-to-louis-c-k-stop-doing-stand-up-youre-not-funny/ Basically, Pesci told CK he wasn't funny and that he needed to stop doing stand-up, but what makes it even funnier is that Louis CK is basically telling it with no shame at all.
