What is wrong with the PS4 port of the game?

I play the game like hell on story mode and since day one I have found washed out environmental colors in some areas and in other areas the view is just beautiful. Also the draw distance seems to be way more fogged out then in the PS3. What is this garbage? I'm so sick of this! I bought the game for both platforms but why did R* get lazy and decided to launch the game like this?

Go into options and turn off In-game depth of Field Effects. that might solve the draw distance "issue"(might be under similar name, find it!) .. The game looks so much better and loads damn quick idk how can you say R* got lazy..

The PS version will always look more washed out. You can blame Sony for that.

The textures also seem to be less detailed than the Xbox One version. But it also features more flora variety so I guess that's a fair trade.

It's not my TV because of anything my TV has better picture quality than probably every 1080p LCD out there given how I have a plasma TV. Every game in it looks spectacular. But then GTA V looks worse than it's PS3 counterpart, like I said, in some areas where the environmental colors are very very washed out. This is what I mean by R* getting lazy. I'm not referring to anything else.

"environmental colors are very very washed out" doesn't actually mean anything in terms of the game. change brightness settings and maybe even see if the settings on your TV are really optimal.

I agree with what others have said, another factor is the weather, cycle through the weather cheat and you will see smoggy weather purposely washes out and fogs up the image are you sure it's not the Smoggy weather which you are seeing? Also set your TV to underscan and calibrate, if not done already, and consider setting RGB to full.

after watching xbox one vs ps4 gta gameplay video. i figured out a a old trick dated back to the ps3 to improve ps4 contrast (less washed out). your hdtv first needs to be to have this option first of all. you need to change the rgb levels from limited to full (if not already set to full) THEN go to video output on ps4 and change the rgb also to full... I switched that setting and then messed around with my other tv settings and now gta looks even better (more like the xbox one brightness and contrast) apparently, x1 automatically puts the rgb levels on full.
