sivispacem
Chrome is less RAM intensive than Firefox. Or at least, was last time I saw them compared. yoječ
I've been using old Presto-based Opera for a long time, and I loved it. But with time it kept getting less and less stable, and it didn't even restore tabs after a crash (it should, but it didn't work as intended). Naturally, I had to choose an alternative. In the end I went for the Firefox, because it felt the closest to the old Opera. And there's an addon for everything My PC is decent, so I don't bother at all with the CPU and RAM usage - it runs smoothly. Things are not so fine on my laptop though, where Firefox takes like an hour to start up... and then another hour for the adblock addon. It's clearly not an option, so I've tested Chrome and Chromium-based Opera. From those two... Opera actually won, because it runs better with lots of tabs on. I guess it doesn't take up as much RAM as Chrome, because that's what's killing my laptop (not much RAM, slow RAM & HDD). dice
I used K-meleon (some firefox derivative) for quite a long time on an Aspire One which worked remarkerably well compared to its more mainstream contenders. You'd get the occasional short time freezes on script heavy pages, but it was nothing compared to before. Kiffster
I used Chrome-based Torch for a while. It was super fast and had some neat features like saving vids from youtube or wherever, but I switched back to Chrome now though Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/767167-the-ultimate-web-browser-debate/?do=findComment&comment=1066967300 Share on other sites
Guest Billy Russo
I've always used Chrome. I tried Firefox for a little while, but it always felt clunky to me. Personally, I've always just liked the look of Chrome as well. I barely ever have problems with it, even with multiple tabs open playing Videos etc. Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/767167-the-ultimate-web-browser-debate/?do=findComment&comment=1066967463 Share on other sites

Man-Django
There's nae debate needed. Firefox for the win! Despite using more RAM than Chrome and not having Flash built-in! Opera's really good for using less RAM and also their Turbo/Off-Road/Mini mode crunches data by up to 90%. Less data to load from their servers means faster loading times on pages. xoC18H21NO3xo
For me, it's Google Chrome. The only thing I don't like about Chrome is the fact that sometimes and for some unsolved reason, it will not refresh my own html pages and does things to my CSS. Also, Google is clearly tracking everything. I recently switched to Firefox and it was add-on hell. I had to completely remove Flash and Quicktime (anything Apple on my PC), re-install, then I had to go and get the browser add-ons. Things were stable for about 2 days, then Firefox just kept crashing. IE has gotten a bit better over the years. After the 90's I refused to use it anymore. However, I have family members that are afraid of alternative browsers, so I've seen some of the changes made to IE. Man-Django
The new Firefox has a nice new app called "Hello" it allows you to quickly start a Video Call. You send the URL link to someone via email. The recipient doesn't even need to have Firefox on their PC and can even be on a mobile phone! Once they click the link and allow the permissions they will join the video/audio call. A heck of a lot faster than setting up or logging into accounts on other programmes or sites! Miekka
I use both Internet Explorer & Google Chrome daily. Explorer for me is the best choice when watching videos, let's say YouTube and WWE Network. Chrome i use for casually browsing sites, such as GTA Forums and others. It feels more user-friendly than IE for that purpose imo. I'll just stick with these two for now.
