Good mod guides for GTA3/VC/SA?

Hey everyone.

 

I've recently got a hankering to revisit all the RenderWare era GTA games on PC and wanted to make sure I'm having the best possible experience. However, I asked some friends and looked around and I can't for the life of me decide on the best mods for each game. Some guides even say I shouldn't be using Steam copies and prefer the retail copies and vice versa.

 

Needless to say, it's been very confusing.

 

Basically, all I'm looking for is to play GTA3/VC/SA at it's best looking and most stable. I don't want multiplayer mods or stuff like that, I want basically the core game brought up to the latest standards and the best looking assets, if that makes sense. Can anyone point me in the right direction? I've also seen mods that rebuild GTA3 on VC's engine and so forth, so I don't know if I should be using those either.

Welcome to the forums ETPC.

 

If you never installed any mods before I'd recommend browsing a bit on our modding sections first. There's a ton of mods you may want to try, and also tutorials on how to install them or make your own modifications.
