I think R* will made Valentine event such as weekend playlists, double RP or money, special crates drop etc.

I have on idea why R* won't drop V day dlc like 1 year ago.

 

Because R* told us next update should be heists?

They said that before releasing the festive update.

 

But that was a "surprise"

They could still activate the Valentines Day Massacre Content on Valentines Day without needing an update. All of the content from last years update is already in the games files. (My female character still has the Flapper Bob hairstyle after doing the transfer to current gen.) If they can deactivate event items for sale, activate special crate drops, turn snow on/off, all without requiring an update, surely they can reactivate a past event.

considering they're giving out free GTA Online on PS4 you'd think it'd be some sort of special occasion. I personally just think this is an unnecessary amount of pessimism, but i could be wrong. Maybe R* is being kind enough to let those without PS Plus play so they can do absolutely nothing as a special valentines gift to show how much they love you.

Well, if I recall correctly, the last Valentine's update dropped after sunrise here in New Jersey (USA). It was like 7 or 8 in the morning. I'm sitting in front of my laptop like a big kid, reading the comments and doing sudokus. I want more sexy lingerie and some dresses, a sexy car from any decade before the 80's and a survival at the Altruist Camp or on Grove Street. Something different to break up the monotony.

Oh yeah, thanks for bringing that up. I remember some updates being released at around 5AM Pacific Time (No, I didn't stay up late. I checked the posts of the "So-and-so Update discussion" threads.). So maybe there's still a glimmer of hope here?

Nah, I think the free PS4 multiplayer is just a coincidence. According to a lot of the articles I read, it's not just GTA Online that's going to have free multiplayer.

This why I'm hopeful. Cause it came out in the early morning.

 

I'd love 80's inspired dresses, hair, cars, etc. Vice City is my favorite and hopefully GTA V will play some sort of homage to it.

Not really. Has been in SP for the PS4/Xbox One versions of the game.

I think 7 or 8 in the morning is a little bit of a stretch. If they have a stream today like I think I saw someone say there's absolutely no chance of an update, but if not, I suppose we have a couple of hours left. Then again, they're probably well aware that people stay up until 5:30 EST, so if they're suddenly a fan of annoying surprises then I wouldn't doubt it.

In my experience on the ps3, it currently seems that new players waayyy outnumber the older players, so most folk that would have ANYthing from last valentines day, are definitely in the minority.

 

Regardless of getting new content or not, I'll be sure to roll around shooting people up with my gusenberg

I am amazed that we haven't (as yet) had the implementation of some sort of weekend 'event' (Special Crates, double RP etc.). If R* ignores a previously celebrated holiday altogether, then it really will mean all bets are off.
