Rollercoaster on the pier

Current gen - dedicated first-person view, except for when riding roller coaster

Enter the Roller coaster with first person view on and you will ride it in that view.

The only view I use is first-person, so I will have been in first person when I rode it. When you trigger the action of boarding the coaster, it switches to 3rd, but then when you cycle through the views, 1st sn't an option.

Unless they've fixed / patched it since then.

Well, I used the roller coaster once, entering it with first person view and it didn't switch to third person. Talking about CG and SP mode, don't know how's in Online.

I'm on PS4, but pretty sure I was online when I tried it. I'll give it a try in SP.

ANSWER: Because you can ride it in single player. If the roller coaster was moving then you would have to wait for the carriage to arrive, or a transition would need to occur (actually I think one does).

At any rate they would have discussed the issue about having the player stand there waiting for the rollercoaster and the decision would have been made that the rollercoaster always stays in the waiting position until the player goes for a ride, i.e. it's single player mode so the rolloer coaster exists only for single players enjoyment.

Notice that no one else ever buys stuff from convenience stores? Imagine if you actually had to wait in line for the checkout, how annoying would that be. Same thing

Rockstar makes me scratch my head sometimes.

Other things that could have been easily implemented...

- Leave vehicle engine running (press the button as you exit the vehicle)

- Turn off the engine (hold the button as you exit the vehicle)

- Grab onto ledges/fences (press the button to hang onto them and press the button again to climb over yourself instead of being "forced" to climb over) This feature was in San Andreas and IV. Why not V? I have no idea...

Imagine if you actually had to wait in line for the checkout, how annoying would that be. Same thing

It wouldn't annoy me in the slightest - it would just add to the realism, but I accept I'm probably in the minority there.

Not sure this makes much sense... at least not to me. Why would you want to hang from a ledge or a fense? I don't think it was wrong of Rockstar to assume that if a player jumps up to grab hold of a fence or ledge, it's because they want to climb over it. Edited by OurJud

Would you want to get shot in the ass from behind when taking your sweet ass time climbing over a fence like how it is in GTA V or would you want to drop down from a fence when you a trying to climb over it and "turn on" the enemy shooting at you in GTA IV instead of getting shot in the back and killed? Pre-re-de-re-pre-order re-de-pre-cancelled.

Am I the only one who read that in Jimmy's voice? (the stuttering kid from south park)

I loved just hanging from walls and fence in IV. Especially that door you could hang from in lucky winkles. And in multiplayer people could push you on it.

Not that I wish to dwell on this as it's all rather inconsequential, but if you jump up and grab a wall and then start getting shot at, I can't see how dropping from that wall, drawing your weapon and turning on your aggressor would be any quicker than completing the climb and dropping down the other side to safety.
