Rollercoaster on the pier

Recommended Posts

I know it's only a small detail but why the f*ck did rockstar add the moving working rollercoaster to online and not single player. I'm single player it stays motionless at the station unless the player rides it, after an update for online it now goes round the track, surely this would be such a simple thing to do in single player as it was in online. Not a massive thing but when you walk up to the pier it looks so much more alive and open when the coaster actually goes round the track.

Lethal Vaccine

This is GTA V. I am sure you can think of many things which result in you scratching your head as to why Rockstar did such and such in this game...

Like SonOfLiberty once said. "Rockstar logic isn't the same as normal logic."

I couldn't agree with you more. Rockstar is so random with these things

Wow, I asked a genuine question and it got deleted - I just want to know whether people feel this is a worse issue than the trees not moving. Seems like a reasonable question to me.

I mean, how much can we actually discuss this issue?

We can all agree that the OP is right - then what? Lock it and forget it? Or should we keep this thread open? Seeing as how we've had the issue described and confirmed. Because as far as I can see, this thread has just become another attack on Rockstar.

Lol at whoever keeps deleting my posts.

Stop spamming. If you don't like the thread don't post in it

I don't think such a small issue is worthy a thread, especially since there is a similar thread were OP could have had posted it. http://gtaforums.com/topic/720471-the-leviathan-rollercoaster-funnest-thing-ever/

Anyway, I don't see how that's such a big problem, seems more that OP just wants to complain for the sake complaining. You can write R* on their support page and ask them to fix it if you want it so bad. But things like locked interiors are much more of an issue than the rollercoaster not working.

So far I appear to be the only person actually on topic here.

But anyways - the question remains - this is a minor thing, and I think something that people aren't likely to notice too often. Is this more or less of an immersion breaker than the trees not moving in the wind?

Nothing is hidden for me. pal... I know everything.

It works in SP. I went on it the first day I bought GTA V.

You can ride it but OP means that it doesn't move unless you use it. I didn't noticed it when I went there, so I don't know.

That's not what he's saying. In Online, it carries on going around the track when no one is on it. But in Single player, it only moves when the player rides it.

I'm thinking the only thing to benefit from here would be a tiny bit of immersion.

But I bet you one billion megaladon shark cards that if it were to move in single player without anyone on it, that people would be on in within hours of the update complaining that it doesn't go around the track with pedestrians riding it. Then they would complain that they don't spill their popcorn or that there's no loop on the track. Or something else. Because it's absolutely impossible to please people that pick over things like this.

I really don't mind that it doesn't move. I very rarely go to the pier, unless I'm foolishly trying to land on the ferris wheel, which you slide off if you try to stand on the cars.

THAT is annoying.

A lot of people making out this is a big deal to some. Like I said in the origanal post it's not really a deal breaker, just something I noticed. And the main point I was making is it now works in online but still doesn't move in single player, so why? Design decision? An oversight? Or most like rockstar couldn't be arsed. They've added it to online so it's something that they themselves have noticed and decided to add, but surely it would be such a simple thing to put in single player also. Again I repeat not a massive deal, just something I noticed and would add a little to immersion.

Well, maybe it was only fixed in Online because Online players pointed it out on the support page? You can do the same and ask them to fix it for SP, I'm sure it's an oversight. The trees not swaying in the wind got also fixed (at least in SP, don't know about Online) after players wrote them about the issue.

Probably because in Multiplayer, it makes slightly more sense as its eye candy due to real people playing in the lobby, so it might get there attention or something. Whereas in Single Player, you're isolated so basically, design decisions.

ViceCityStalker

To be honest the 2 seconds i looked at the roller coaster in my hundreds of hours of gameplay I couldn`t really be bothered if it moves or not maybe you should go do the million other things in V that are fun instead of staring at roller coasters all day.

Phantomspirit

Many things don't add up,for example ,something very annoying to me,why on earth can you not eat snacks rapidly when standing up,but you can when in cover?.....also applies to playing in first person, try it,you will suddenly stand up and eat each snack so slowly...you get owned whilst doing so...

Thot this thread was locked yesterday. ha!.. anywho I hadn't noticed this detail & doubt R* did till they launched and played enough online.

Would be fun to hear the rumble and the screams of those riding and would add immersion. Not a dealbreaker for me but would prolly be more effective gamewise than riding it. (Seriously. how much do you ride it?)

Would say I'm surpised that wasn't fixed for new systems but seems they didnt even bother to fix the garages in SP.

The most illogical thing about the roller coaster, is that after introducing a first-person view for current gen consoles, Rockstar decide to then REMOVE the first-person view (that already existed on last gen) for the roller coaster on current gen.

So, last gen - no dedicated first-person view, but a first-person view option when riding roller coaster.

Current gen - dedicated first-person view, except for when riding roller coaster

Enter the Roller coaster with first person view on and you will ride it in that view.

The only view I use is first-person, so I will have been in first person when I rode it. When you trigger the action of boarding the coaster, it switches to 3rd, but then when you cycle through the views, 1st sn't an option.

Unless they've fixed / patched it since then.
