I only go invite only so I know who it is when it happens

It's fun to piss off my mates who are shopping then I open fire.... Usually ends with myself being chased lol

Not A Nice Person

I am always in passive mode, but when an idiot doesn't realize that, I usually go leave the lobby and go to a new one and go back shopping across the street.

Usually they flee after that and I don't feel like chasing them. Sometimes they stay to fight, in which case I'll happily oblige and kill them several times over. Really annoying when they flee though... The hell kinda children are those fleeing f*cks? Killing some guy when he's in a defenseless position, just minding his own business, then fleeing when he can return the favour? The f*ck is going on in their tiny brains? All that does is show how petty they really are

And what game should they play instead? Saint's Row? Sunset Overdrive? Any other game in this genre that lets players personalize their character? 'Such a stupid reply.

Forgive me, and this might be a little too much for you to grasp, but people enjoy certain features in games that you might not care for. It doesn't mean they're playing the wrong game. It just means they're enjoying it differently than you would.

*Edit*

On-topic: Full outfit changes are only supported by the clothes store up the street from my house in Paleto Bay. Usually people that own homes there aren't out for blood so I don't worry about dodging bullets there. If there ever comes a time though - as others said, fight back. Since he/she attacked you from a vulnerable position, i.e a sucker punch = Anything f*cking goes. I call up my Rhino which has multiple spawn points in the Bay and I let them know they made a mistake.

So you are in there for what? 10, 20 minutes, half an hour. What are you doing? Anyway, a player would have let themselves get in the "vulnerable position" that's not very smart at all, is it?

edit: I read your edit again. You would do this? Spend ages in a shop, in an open session, paying no attention to the outside world and if some one came and shot at you or mess with you, you would tank grief them because it was somehow their mistake?

No, I wouldn't personally spend that much time in a shop, but the beauty is that you're free to if you want to. So what if somebody wants to spend that much time in the shop. It's their choice. Not yours or mine. One of the great things Saint's Row is known for is the out-of-this-world character customization. I prefer GTA of course, but I still like dressing up. It doesn't matter whether it's unwise or not to visit a clothes store for longer than your standards. It's fun. Grasp that concept will you? Dying doesn't matter and it never will.

My edit wasn't targeted at you, but since you questioned my actions I'll answer you anyway. If somebody attacks me while I'm in a store, no, it isn't their mistake. I consider it unwise because I don't like it and I consider it trolling, but it isn't technically a mistake. You misinterpreted my post. They'll be the ones to consider it a mistake when they're vulnerable on the end of the Rhino's cannon. Griefing gets countered by severe griefing. If you don't like that, oh well. I wasn't aimming for you to look too much into it.

As for 2, wouldn't they not care?
In terms of the tank, I love tankers. I just keep calling for my Adder again and again and see how much I can cost them in insurance/how many times I can get them the BS warning. I've had people in tanks send me a message about how they got me after a couple of times. After about five times, they finally realize that I'm doing it on purpose.
People can have fun playing dress up all they like (I mean, I don't get it but whatever, my character has had pretty much the same outfit for over 100 days worth of game time), people are going to find different "fun" in this game and that's what's so good about it and what leads to disputes (because what someone considers "fun" often means taking away from what someone else is currently considering fun.)
That said, I'll continue to have fun trolling people in clothing stores (aka my fun).

It goes like this. Go in passive, let them shoot, yay. Store closes. Go outside make some gestures. They get mad blow car up and pay 9k . U make phone call. And make more faces. They are distracted , come out of passive and kill. Go passive. Win.

Figured out a new one today.

1. Take a car to the clothing store near LSC.

2. Jam car into store, opening doors.

3. Get on top of car, throw prox mines through open doors on the floor of the store right in front of car and preferably the closer to the entrance the better.

4. Go into passive.

5. Walk away and go out of passive.

6. Come back a few moments later, the car is no longer stuck between the doors but is in front of them and the doors are closed shut.

7. The store is closed but the prox mines are still inside, although you cannot hear them and they are not readily visible unless you really look.

If you walk up to the door to try to get in and the prox mines are close enough to the door, they will blow despite the store still being closed. If done right, you will get people who aren't looking and don't realize the store's closed.

TLDR: Jamming car into clothing store and throwing prox mines on the floor towards front of store not only accomplishes closing the store but if done right will still get people who don't bother to see that the store is closed.

I wonder how many people are just itching to try this.

On Topic. While it is true that it is much more peaceful north of Los Santos, if you are playing in a public session you should always expect to be attacked.

I'm actually itching to try it again (I didn't have much time) from the standpoint of, if the prox mines stay in there after the store is closed and are the reason the store closed, I'm curious to test how long the store is closed.

When you're having a fab time shopping and some douche comes up and either

a) kills you OR

b) traps you (even though you can just kill yourself and respawn, yet somehow they think you're trapped when you're really not.)

I contemplate how me being inside a store when its closed keeps me from being the criminal this game portrays me to be and stealing all the clothes in the store.

I keep track of their name, and when they go to a store,

^^^ I stole that from ~Joseph~

Sometimes I do that to the phone booths in the game lol

I love that movie lol

However, if you are more than a minute or so in any shop you may be playing the wrong game.

Edit: I don't mean you, hugh750. I mean anyone. Get in, get the special crate drop tee/hat and get out.

You're 100% right.

My new concept (on forum conversations) is if you have to explain or simply state such obvious things to somebody, than there's no point in actually doing so. Because if they didn't already know better, then they still won't even after you explain it to them.

*Edit*

Oh, on topic lol... I just fight back if it's a fight they want. If they drive off, I observe them until I see an opportunity to "blindside" them like they did me. Nowadays when I'm shopping, I'm always exiting the clothes menu to check my radar. So if anyone's coming, I'm already waiting on them by the door. Sure that sucks for the people who were just going to buy clothes, but it's a necessary evil for me haha

I do this too. The last time this happened was when I first started the game on my old profile when I was like a level 5 or something. Guy opened up the doors from outside with a minigun..

Since then, I open radar before going into ANY shop. Couple times while IN there too, mid shopping just to check if someone is heading towards me and maybe right before I exit. Haven't been hit like that since. In fact, I've got a strategy that'll make their lil plot backfire now.. lol :die::pirate:

I bet that would have sounded a lot more threatening 6+ months ago.

I can see where you're going with this but even after it's nerf, I can still use the tank effectively. Why people pass it on as simply a self-destructive method for the user is beyond me.

I actually welcome the nerf. I don't think a player should have access to such a weapon at all.

But this is going nowhere.

1. "Dying doesn't matter and it never will."

2. "They'll be the ones to consider it a mistake when they're vulnerable on the end of the Rhino's cannon."

I've always found that the less I care about getting killed, the more fun and the more risks I end up taking. I still like to preserve life, GTA can be a live and let live world.

Of course, not everyone shares this mentality. It's not necessary and it's certainly not very common for loyal players. Most people will retaliate when fired upon and then there are people like you that exist which is fine totally fine, I think. It's normal. It's common. I've been guilty of it once too. If there is a game that supports trolling, it's GTA.

As for the tank comment you made, since the BS lobby is only (insert-double-digit-number-here) number of PVs, I find that a viable tactic if only you're facing an actual griefer. You know, somebody that logs into GTA with a heart full of destruction? With only 2.5K player kills at rank 260, it's safe to say that when I use a tank, it's for good intentions or nasty, quick and deserving retaliation. So leave me alone when I shop or I'll turn your Adder continually into the scrap metal it truly is, because I've got plenty of disposable income to waste. I need more kills anyway.

But jokes aside, (I mean it this time), this is just dick-waving and there really is no need to continue this conversation as their is no solid ground to argue or debate upon (as you've mentioned). Have a nice day.

Turn on passive and shop uninterrupted.

Change clothing in invite only first.

I honestly never see anyone in free roam in the clothing stores....ammunation and lsc, but not clothing stores.

that's because you have a good connection

I wont switch lobby because it is too damn hard to get one

So.....

I'm trying this this morning in an invite only lobby to get an "accurate" test:

1. Take a car to the clothing store near LSC.
2. Jam car into store, opening doors.
3. Get on top of car, throw prox mines through open doors on the floor of the store right in front of car and preferably the closer to the entrance the better.
4. Go into passive.
5. Walk away from the area completely and go out of passive.
6. Come back a few moments later, the car is no longer stuck between the doors but is in front of them and the doors are closed shut.
7. The store is closed but the prox mines are still inside, although you cannot hear them and they are not readily visible unless you really look.
____________________________________________
So far this morning:
When you leave the area after doing it, then come back, the car sometimes glitches into the door. I saw this yesterday and again this morning. After you leave and come back again, it often works itself out.
You can hear the mine, I don't know why I didn't think so yesterday - maybe too much background noise. It is still hard to see the mine for some reason when it's there and the store has closed (you can kind of see the light blinking, but the rest of it seems to sink into the carpet or something).
However, the interesting part is this:
The car is now out of the door, the mine is still in the clothing store with the doors closed.
More than 20 real time minutes have gone by (again, invite only lobby so no one could try to mess with the test) and the store is still closed. I keep going away and coming back and it's still closed.
Edited to add: going on 25 real time minutes, still closed.

Edited: Now passing 30 real time minutes, still closed. I'm guessing it's not reopening as long as the mine is in it.
Still not open at nearly 45 min.
______________________________________
The thought that I had yesterday - which worked - was if you close the store with the mine in it close to the door, you'll still get someone who runs up to the door. However, as the test I'm currently doing suggests, if you don't have it close enough to the door to trigger, the store will probably not re-open as long as you're in the lobby.
Edited to add: finally got one further back to trigger with a sticky to the door. Now waiting to see how fast it re-opens.
Re-opened again quickly.
So....
TLDR: You can get a mine into the clothing store and it will perma-close the store until someone triggers the mine.

NOTE: THIS DOES NOT WORK AT AMMUNATION (and doesn't seem to work at the convenience stores.)
Now trying Suburban store. So far, this does work at the Suburban store. Yep, works at Suburban stores.

Before going to store, throw proximity mine at door, go passive, enter store, store closed but someone died (threat or not). Leave store and be greeted by angry grammar error message.
