Terreus
Hey, guys. I was wondering if there was some way of making the car I've spawned and customized for myself (with the Crazy Trainer, so it only has stock parts on it, without anything player-made) could be made never to appear in the game. I'd be happy to remove the entire model from the game, excepting my own one, which means deleting it from spawn lists, I guess? I have no idea. I'd appreciate any ideas. Thanks. nyolc8
Add the car as additional car (don't replace an existing one. Then set the freqency and max loaded/spawned/visible option to "1" in the vehicle.ide line for that car. I'll write how to do this detailed when I get to my laptop. InfamousSabre
delete its entries from cargrp.dat
Terreus
I'll try altering the cargrp.dat, Sabre. Thanks. But just in case that isn't enough, for whatever weird technical reason the game comes up with, Nyolc, I'd appreciate a short walkthrough on how to do that. Thanks. InfamousSabre
I think deleting the entries in cargrp will only alter their appearance in traffic. They might still spawn parked. vehicles.ide would likely work better. Look at this snippet from vehicles.ide. admiral, admiral, car, ADMIRAL, ADMIRAL, [email protected], [email protected]_LO4_LO4, 100, 999, 0.2229, 0.2229, 0, 2, 1.0 ,0, -airtug, airtug, car, AIRTUG, AIRTUG, [email protected], NULL, 100, 999, 0.1104, 0.1104, 0, 2, 1.0 ,1, noboot+ext_convambulance, ambulance, car, AMBULANCE, AMBULAN, [email protected], NULL, 100, 999, 0.2406, 0.2406, 0, 2, 1.5 ,1, noboot+isvan+truckfirefx+ext_strongbanshee, banshee, car, BANSHEE, BANSHEE, [email protected], [email protected]_CONV, 10, 999, 0.2967, 0.2967, 0, 5, 1.0 ,0, ext_conv+ext_strong See all the "999" values? those are the MaxNum values that indicate the maximum number of that vehicle allowed to be spawned by the game. Set it to 1 or 0 for the vehicle you want to keep to yourself. I just set the Sultan RS to 1. Much better. Why didn't R* do this in the first place? Just because I found a rare car, doesn't mean everywhere I drive it should look like a meet from The Fast and The Furious. Terreus
That's exactly it. I remember installing a gorgeous Trans Am into GTA IV, and customizing its skin to perfection for myself, only to have it become every third car in general traffic throughout Liberty City. I'll see if it works when I get back.
nyolc8
- Rename your car files to something unique, for example "mycar.wtd" and "mycar.wft" - Import it into "pc\models\cdimages\vehicles.img" - open "common\data\handling.dat" and ADD (so don't replace any line) your handling line into it and be sure to make it's name MYCAR. So example: "MYCAR 1700.0 6.0 85 0.0 0.0 -0.35 0.0 5 0.17 1.0 140.0 0.22 0.65 0.7 35.0 1.2 0.95 14.0 0.13 0.47 1.6 1.0 1.0 0.15 -0.16 0.0 0.5 1.0 1.0 0.7 1.5 0.0 25000 440080 0 0" - open "common\data\vehicles.ide" and ADD (so don't replace any line) your vehicle ide line into it and make sure you name it like this (example): mycar, mycar, car, MYCAR, ADMIRAL, [email protected], [email protected]_LO4_LO4, 1, 1, 0.2229, 0.2229, 0, 2, 1.0 ,0, - and the important part: red number = car frequency (how often should it spawned in traffic) blue number = max spawned of this vehicle (how many can spawned in traffic at once) If you set these to "1" (maybe it works with 0 too, not tried) and you spawn this additional vehicle with a trainer, then there will be no another one in the traffic, even when you driving it. This is the method how I add vehicles which I don't want to see appearing in traffic at all.
InfamousSabre
yeah, if you dont want it spawning at all, set to 0. you'll have to spawn with trainer
