AI & Players can shoot through walls at Military Base (PS3)

I have only experienced this issue on the mission titled "Base Invaders", in case you were unaware of this mission it involves you destroying 3 Jets and stealing a Cargobob. The easy part is destroying the jets, but harder part is the Cargobob, especially now it is.

 

I find when I am in what is cover or a safe area in the base I find I am getting shot at, I look at the red dots on the map face in that general direction and I then lock onto a target who is behind or inside the western most hangar (the one with the CB in). I can shoot through the walls, and so can the soldiers.

 

Is anybody else experiencing this issue? It makes this mission VERY HARD when playing it solo which was easy beforehand.

The issue of being able to shoot through walls/vehicles is well known to me and a constant source of frustration.

 

I find it very hard to deal with that and get frustrated when I die in a mission/DM through another player or AI being able to shoot me

through a solid object, if there's a wall/item/ car between me and the foe I should not be able to be shot when I can't even lock on

or spot them because of the change in the focus of the camera.

 

Equally annoying is when the game tries to do the quick fire lock on by turning you round to aim at the foe and someone else

whose closer gets you in the back.

1) Use Buzzard, hover out of ai gun range, keep blasting till you destroy all 70 ai's (if you thought they was infinite, they are not) and 3 jets. Land, sniper 3 guys inside hanger, retrieve Cargobob.

 

-- Optional: Quick hop in Cargobob then quickly get back in your Buzzard, destroy tank that comes after you. Should take about 4 rockets.

 

Easy 15-17k with virtually no ammo cost.

 

 

2) Drive near the base and call the Rhino tank to have it spawn near the base. Drive up behind the base and up over the cliff closest to the military base wall. Give yourself a little distance and line up with the ridge perfect, speed down the hill and jump into the base (tank should just barely get over the fences). Drive around and destroy all 70 ai's and 3 jets, snipe 3 guys inside hangar, retrieve Cargobob.

 

Optional: Hop in Cargobob quickly, get back in Rhino, destroy tank that comes after you.

 

 

3) Fly plane to base, land inside on the far back runway. Keep your distance, use Heavy Sniper, kill all 70 ai's, destroy the 3 jets, collect Cargobob, return to Trevors airport.

Base Invaders is one of THE easiest missions in the game. There is no need to go on foot Rambo style. All you do is make life hard on yourself and burn through much more ammo then is needed to burn (which in turn eats away at your total profit). Remember while it's not worth it to meaninglessly stand around for money gain, at the same time it isn't worth it to storm and rush missions either.

 

Take missions at a steady, somewhat tactical pace and you'll find many jobs will earn between 15-19k with minimal ammo cost.

No he's not, look up to the bilboard, he's in between them.

But I can't blame you, I used to think that mission was glitched too until I looked for a walkthrough

If you're thinking of what I am, then there's a guy that's actually on top of a billboard. I've played that mission multiple times and I've just blown up the guy in a buzzard. I thought he was stuck in a building my first few times on that mission, but then I looked around and discovered that he's well hidden.

well , u need a car ( preferably durable and fast ) . gain entrance through the fort by using sloped hills as ramp . it's advised not to have high suspension car like sandking or merryweather ( because exposing player's foot ) and for low suspension ( exposing player's head , this is especially problematic if u wear high heels , but BP helmet can compensate this )

 

be sure not to bring ron's velum as risk of getting destroyed . to get to the cargobob , simply drive around the hangar to avoid marines ( there are 3 marines guarding cargobob in the hangar while 1 infinite respawning right side of hangar entrance )

 

if u didn't get the car , well there's barrack OL ambush player who approaches one of the lazer jet ( but obviously not bulletproof tires and two large tank on side makes even more dangerous since marines wield machine guns instead of carbine rifles )

 

sniper rifle is important for this mission

 

if u haven't unlocked MG yet , then kill all of marines who was inside barrack OL ( the one who ambush you in one of lazer jet ) and take their MG

 

if u have zentorno , then this is useful for " zentorno reverse "

 

buzzard is also useful , but the bubble canopy make it short work for marines kill the pilot with machine gun , with near-crackshot accuracy

 

reserve armor and snack is recommended for this . because player randomly get snack beyond their carry limit ( i.e P & Q's limit only 30 but you have 40 ) , it's even more valuable

 

a tank will spawn after u take the cargobob . if u remain behind while teamate deliver the cargobob , it's a good opportunity to stole it and kill those marines for 25rp each

 

if things getting too intense ( teamates all dying but you , only hope for this mission ) , well , merryweather backup is your last option . while gunner's weapon aren't good enough to challenge MG , they're good decoy in air ( which cause enemies turn their attention to the mercenaries ) . if u have $24k cash , u can use 3 airstrikes on each lazer ( warning : cooldown must be noticed )

Again wrong. As I pointed out in my post this mission does not have infinite spawn AI's, I've 100% wiped out every enemy countless times. He may respawn several times over, yes. But not infinitely.

Also if you have a Buzzard, there is no reason or a marines bullet to ever touch you fyi. Your rocket locks are far greater then the marines fire range. Distance + rockets = helpless marines that's only good for dying.

On the list had me the first time I played it. Spent 20 minutes looking for him before I found him.

 

Trash talk sometimes fails when you kill the boss at the end.

 

Also had a trash talk where the bin lorries were indestructible.

Players and AI have ALWAYS been able to shoot through the walls of that hanger...where have you been for the last 15 months?

Players and AI have ALWAYS been able to shoot through the walls of that hanger...where have you been for the last 15 months?

 

 

I've been under a rock apparently. But in all seriousness, I used to grind that mission a fair bit and have never experienced it until today and a few days ago

If you're thinking of what I am, then there's a guy that's actually on top of a billboard. I've played that mission multiple times and I've just blown up the guy in a buzzard. Yeah, I sometimes text the person in the mission with me if they don't got a mic that the target is on the billboard. I try get to the target first.

if you have entity/zentorno you can just sticky bomb jets,

drive right next to c'bob hop in the windows are bullet proof

fly away.

I have seen enemy tanks on this mission before lol

You know what's worse, AI can shoot through cars but you can't.

 

Today I was doing this mission 'Caught Napping' the one where you have to rescue Leroy from the Ballas. Well the van that Leroy is being held in has 2 Ballas in it along with him (of course) but when you go to shoot them from the side you can't shoot them unless you can actually see their heads or whatever but they can wall bang you so much it's like their bullets have the FMJ upgrade from MW2. It's one of the things that ruins the game for me honestly, is there any real need for the AI to have extremely OP abilities, even when playing on hard difficulty.

rly ? never sweep entire marines all over the fort during this mission before . but seeing all of their numbers with MG , it still difficult to kill them

in fact , their behaviour is aggresive ( pursuiting you until you die or lost sight , even though they're on foot )

 

so far , i remembered 2 barrack filled with marines

 

however , should u somehow obtain cargobob ( by lester's locate vehicle or glitch ) and someone has a tank , it grant you high chance success as while it slow , it can prove distraction on those marines
