EpsilonProgram
Hi, this might be a little dumb, "first world problem" and long post, but hey all help appreciated. Anyway, I was thinking of purchasing VC & SA again on PC however I just learned digital Steam versions (If somebody knows if the R* Warehouse versions are unchanged that will be awesome) have some songs removed an are basically not the same deal as the old DVD i've used to have for performance, mods, etc. Anyway both retail original versions are available on Amazon for 24$, importing them to my country is around 50$, while getting the Android versions is like 10$ only, money is not the issue since I can pay that, however I wanna hear your thoughts and experiences to not make a dumb purchase. I'm really a not big PC Gamer, I have a fair decent rig, but I'm planning to get a PS4 in fact (Don't judge lol) like literally I have only Pc games released before 2005 that I bought off sales on GOG and Steam that I rarely play them, so getting PC versions you probably won't play and leave there getting dust/ hdd space (Work, consoles, etc making me not PC game that much) is when I think to myself is not rational and pointless. I could get the retail versions later in the future, but yeah my payday is coming so i want to get something before money's gone :B So yeah sorry for all that BS. Bottom line is, are the Android Versions decent alternatives for the meanwhile If I eventually buy or not the old DVD's??. My main concern and the mindf**ck is the removed songs haha not even gameplay or graphics, that's the collector freak side coming out on me. Does the removal of those really ruin the experience or not? (Example the classic opening with Billie Jean on VC) I mean you can add the songs to SA back via custom radio but not to VC on Android apparently. And yeah Hope somebody read all that and you can share your point of view, add your "two cents" etc you're pretty awesome if you did and can help, thank you ;D See ya and waiting for gladly apreciated help
Son of Zeus
Cut songs aren't the only problem in Android versions. Audio dropping out, cutscenes freezing, textures glitching, poor controls.... The list goes on. If money isnt a problem, go for the DVD version. Android versions are crap. GrindingOnDatNRG
I have the Xbox 360 version which I heard is a port from the iOS version. Don't know much about the android one. If I where you I'd just get San Andreas on PC and use a controller.

If I where you I'd just get San Andreas on PC and use a controller. The X360 version is not a port of the iOS. It was the other way around. IIRC, there was a (rare as hell) X360 version that was released in 2006. Edited February 11, 2015 by Officer Vic

If I where you I'd just get San Andreas on PC and use a controller. Actually, The xobox 360 version is a port of Android and not iOS. Open Android v1.06 apk in winrar and see the assests. You will find the find the files touchdefault360 etc. which were not present on v1.05 of Android. In short, xbox 360 version is a port of Android v1.06 GrindingOnDatNRG

khsh97
@Tomasak I don't know whether xbox 360 version was ported from windows phone or Android but the user above said that he does not anything about Android version.... 360 version may be a port of Android or windows phone or may be both but not of iOS. Exploding Pants
My biggest issue with the port is the radios. I know it's not a big deal but the quality sucks ass. Audio aside, the controls aren't the best, flying the Hydra is nigh impossible (to get it to fly forward you have to point the nose towards the ground. Think about that), and the camera and walking controls tend to glitch together and both work at the same time. But it has its good sides; better reflections, vivid colors, and people actually have fingers. Hey, at least it's on phones at all.
khsh97
The radio quality sucks. I turn off the radio because I hear the car engine sound louder than radio. Flying the hydra is not that tough...push the virual analog stick upward twice while holding accelerate button. How camera control and walking glitch together? We need to live with these issues due to control limitations by touchscreen although many these issues(especially no camera control while flying chopper) can be fixed if Rockstar/wardrumstudios willing to fix them. I fully understand that some bugs like the camera analog can be worked out but the thing is, it doesn't seem like they're going to be. The camera analog thing has been happening since it was released. It doesn't sound like a big issue but it kind of sucks when people are shooting me to hell and back and all I can do is spin around in circles rather than run away because the camera and analog hate each other. And the hydra could have a separate button mapped for exiting hovering mode. It could be the toggle missions button or something. Rustyspanner
Which is the platform version of GTA San Andreas with the best overall graphics (excluding PC)? Well, the 'new' port looks best on XBOX360 because you can use an HD TV. Edited February 22, 2015 by Rustyspanner
