I really don't get you guys.....you are mad cos they wanna make money off youtube?

 

I mean there's a search function right, you choose what you wanna watch.....how does anything that doesn't concern you bother you

See, this sort of thing is what bothers me about the 'tween personality cult' YouTube lot:

 

Aside from being yet another 'guy talking about not much in particular over generic footage, with the usual begging for likes/subscribes' video, skip to the bit at 3:02 - might look familiar.

Yep - not content with taking credit for news/leaks/tips from the likes of Funmw2 and others, very often without crediting their sources, it's now gotten to the point where they're poaching footage from other channels' videos:

Same footage of 'Coveted' - indeed, all that mission footage is pinched, without credit, from (occasional GTAF-er) Greyleaf Gamer's very good video walkthrough series.

Maybe that's just me, but I find it particularly annoying that the likes of Domislive, MrBossFTW, iCrazyTeddy et al are prepared to do the bare minimum, just to get their 'daily videos' out and boost their view/interaction count, when you've got people like Broughy, GTASeriesVideos and Greyleaf who put in time and work to provide other players with useful resources - and now the 'personality cultists' are basically stealing the walkthrough guys' work.


Also, got to agree with Broughy's take on how the unsubstantiated hype being put out by the 'squeaker-farmers' really doesn't help anyone - particularly when it comes to false expectations of upcoming content:

Youtube really evolved over the past 10 years.

Now literally anyone can get on and make a decent living.

 

The GTA 5 community on youtube (glitches and sh*t) is pathetic

Every video contains a long intro with terrible dubstep, beg for likes, and a quick 1 minute voiceover over (literally) the same gameplay footage.

Then you have kids worshiping them in the comments.

These youtubers found a way to make money off the work of others which is something I can't respect.

And they walk around like they are so high and mighty. LOL

They are the reason why everyone is anti-rockstar

^ What's really laughable to me, as a former Halo die-hard (yeah, I know...), is seeing that idiot DJ Keemstar (or 'DramaAlert', or whatever the hell he's calling himself now...) showing up in the OP.

If you were a regular on the Bungie forums years ago, it was a recurring joke that every so often, Keemstar would post yet another pompous rant video to his army of tween fans (which, considering he's a grown man trying to look 'cool', is a bit sad - and weird, frankly...) about whatever new thing was 'killing Halo', or why 'Bungie sucks' or what-have-you - and all the normal, well-adjusted folk would see him pouting and posturing, and just laugh, shrug, and ...maybe sneer for a bit. Like I say, Keemstar was basically a figure of ridicule, even back 5-6 years...

...and now he's older, none the wiser, and doing the same for GTAO squeakers. MY SIDES.
