Crimson Flam3s
PS4. Objectively it has the larger playerbase (19 million sales compared to 11 million sales for Xbone) and has a significantly more powerful GPU (60% or so) than the Xbone; meaning exclusives theoretically should be able to look better on PS4. Multi-platform releases will likely be made to look the same. Naturally if you have the money, PC would be the better option; although the entry cost for a decent machine is significantly higher outside of America. Oh so now its 60% more powerful? Lol that number changes every time I see people talking about it haha The PS4 is about 10% more powerful at max, don't forget the Xbox One has a better overclocked CPU.It's around 30% actually. 900p is 30% lower resolution than 1080p. That's the usual difference in AAA games. GTA 5 runs it at 1080p, and don't come saying it's only a remaster because the graphics are way better than last gen, DX12 will not improve it's performance but will help a lot doing games at 1080p, now i'm going to sleep, if you think DX12 won't do nothing to the console just wait GDC 2015.Actually dx12 is supposed to aid CPU bound, like games with lots of npc's and stuff. Games such as Assassins Creed Unity or gta. It's not gonna help much in your typical corridor fps for example. While the ps4 has about 50% more power on paper, it usually translates to 30% in practice as seen by the 1080p games that are are rendered in 900p by the xbox one. Once dx12 starts to make a real difference, probably games coming out next year, it's gonna be interesting what ps4 does to keep up. Overclock the cpu like xbox did? Keep playing the cpu card? Yes, it came from Microsoft, they've also said that DirectX 11 GPU's are getting a 40% boost and DirectX 12 native GPU's are getting 600% wich i think it's bullsh*t but whatever. Actually yes, directx12 does have a huge performance increase in the programs that it has been tested on but you gotta remember that a game will only benefit in the cpu side, the ps4 will still have the gpu advantage. Look at this test for example: http://www.anandtech.com/show/8968/star-swarm-directx-12-amd-apu-performance It's pretty impressive but don't be fooled into thinking the xbox is gonna get this huge boost, as game's don't depend on cpu only. If you really wanna get a good look into it then read this: http://www.dualshockers.com/2015/02/07/stardock-ceo-well-play-games-looking-like-the-lord-of-the-rings-on-xbox-one-and-ps4-by-generations-end/ I don't think what that guy says is too far fetched considering the ps4's superior ram and gpu and xbone's cpu. Games coming out in a year or two will better than now, if in doubt look back at ps3 launch games and now. Btw I wasn't raised there but I got some brazilian in me( as well as hispanic) so I could probably read most of it lol Edited February 15, 2015 by Crimson Flam3s

Carlito117
It's a tough one. Going back I used to be an avid Playstation player, but took a (expensive) punt on the Xbox and never looked back. I had my 360 for like 7 years, and moved to XB1 a few weeks after it dropped. So I've been playing for well over a year and I'm yet to be blown away by it. That's summed up by the fact the two games I'm playing most (GTA V & Halo MCE) are old 360 games. Maybe moving isn't such a bad idea?

Ben73
I would get a PS4 since V is pretty much the same on both consoles and to me the PS has better exclusives. Naughty Dog to me is the best dev after Rockstar and they only develop for the PS4. Xbox also has exclusives. So it really depends on the exclusives you are interested in. Have to say I prefer xbox exclusives.
Trevorphilipjfry
I think in all honesty, there's not much point in moving over to next gen, just yet. Regardless of what platform. Most games are just upscaled ports of the same exact game you could get on PS3/xbox 360. And most of them, playing almost the same, with little gameplay advantages. GTA, and BF4/HD are obvious exceptions to the rule. But id you're only switiching to play GTA id say you're better off saving your money IMO, it's not worth the many hundreds of pounds. Hazel Mae
I would say xbox one, the servers are more stable then PlayStation, plus once you run out of memory, you can add a external hard drive With the PS4 you can add an internal HDD or SSD. Besides, the servers are fine on PS4 and it has a much larger userbase. Edited February 15, 2015 by Alaina Heists

whats_a_username?
As someone who owns both consoles, I'd say go with the PS4. That's the console that gets the most play in my house. At this point my XBOne is mainly collecting dust. Thinking about donating it. Also, in my experience, the multiplayer crowd is a bit more mature on the PS4. I encounter much less kids. So that's a huge plus.

whats_a_username?
Xbox one, the controller is 1000 times better. And online part is better on xbox one. ONLY reason few people bought Xbone at launch was because of the god damn kinect camera, lots of people did not want to be surveilled 24/7. But xbone learned and released the editions without the kinect part. So i say go for xbox one. Sure it may be more grass and whatnot on ps4 version but do you really base your opinion on who has the most grass? xbox one all day. btw, PS4 underpays the people making the console also, soo if u support human slavery you should buy the PS4. And the other options for employment in those countries are what..... better? No! Working in these factories is actually considered a good job over there. Just as "sweat shops" are a better job than the alternative jobs. Many studies show that these kind of jobs are actually much better than most other alternatives that these people have. Plus, nobody is forcing them to work there. So don't compare it to slavery. Slavery is 10,000 times worse. Edited February 16, 2015 by whats_a_username? Trevorphilipjfry
I have no doubt in my mind that the xbox online service is better than PSN. PSN has definitely come a long way from the early PS3 days, but its still not as good as XBOX LIVE. But id rather have a free online service like the PS3, it's upsetting that it costs on PS4.
