Mrfishingexpert
I'm planning to get a new gen console. I currently play on Xbox 360. What are y'all's thoughts of the gen consoles? PS4 or XB1? I was wanting a PS4, but then I realized Xbox One is actually cheaper and I can transfer all my gta stuff over to Xbox One. But I'm still not sure. What are pros and cons for both consoles? Which ever one I get the must games I have to have are GTA 5 (of coarse), Minecraft, and Advanced Warfare. IMO, PS4 has better graphics. But whatever... Anyway, which one guys? Relative007
PS4. Objectively it has the larger playerbase (19 million sales compared to 11 million sales for Xbone) and has a significantly more powerful GPU (60% or so) than the Xbone; meaning exclusives theoretically should be able to look better on PS4. Multi-platform releases will likely be made to look the same. Naturally if you have the money, PC would be the better option; although the entry cost for a decent machine is significantly higher outside of America. customkingpimp
ps4. Games load faster, look better. The exclusive games like the last of us, uncharted, gran turismo to name a couple. xbox is cheaper for a reason, because not as many people are buying it, so they lowered the price to try to get more customers. Where the ps4 is still selling strong so there is no need for the price drop. Get what you want to get in the end, you can transfer your online data to either one of them. Strachan
does the ps4 version still look better than the one? also, OP, you can transfer to either of them, from either the ps3 or
radd_bro
OP, this thread will go nowhere. /thread EDIT: Sorry, all I read was the title, and I assumed it was a console war inducing mess. Personally, I would go for the Xbox One but console choice always comes down to your liking. Edited February 11, 2015 by ApexReclaimer

Anyway, which one guys? If the transfer is a big factor then forget about that, as you can transfer from any old gen platform to any new gen platform. In other words you can copy your 360 character(s) over to PS4. There are a couple of other factors to take into consideration as well. There's the touchpad on the PS4 controller, that's used for switching weapons & radio, or tossing grenades when aiming (you can also do that with the D-pad as well, so you can do it on Xbone). But, the biggest feature the PS4 has over the Xbone is the recording and screenshots. Recordings can be up to 15 minutes, as opposed to the 5 minutes on the Xbone, and you can take a screenshot whenever you want. Both videos & screenshots are done from a dedicated sharing button on the controller, so you don't even have to stop playing (a couple of seconds for video). I think the majority will say PS4 as there seems to have been a big, big shift of Xbox players moved over to Sony, for whatever reason. I can't honestly answer you as I've not played it on an Xbone, but there are some facts to think about. Arya35
Unless you have to choose now, wait as long as you can, it may turn out that one of the consoles will get story dlc earlier (probably ps4). Don't base your decision on graphics, if you care about them or 60fps just get a pc instead. The modding will make it a worthwhile buy, plus minecraft is probably best on PC due to modding, whilst cod is generally best played on a console. Octane
Pointless topic, does it really matter? Just get a PS4 cause it has hardware advantages such as the LED lights.
woggleman
I would get a PS4 since V is pretty much the same on both consoles and to me the PS has better exclusives. Naughty Dog to me is the best dev after Rockstar and they only develop for the PS4.
Re-Dragon-Cro
When it comes to stats PS4 is the obvious winner, also PS+ offers free games along discounts. Transferring working cross-system so that you can transfer either to the Xbox One or PS4. But before you go for it check out reviews on the consoles and details so that you see which one suits you better.
Fail_At_GTA
The consoles are the same for the most part. They do the same things and get most of the same games. Choose which console you want based on the exclusives they receive. If that doesn't interest you, buy the console with the controller you prefer. However, if you care about having the most powerful console, PS4 is slightly more powerful. Its not by much at all, it will hardly be noticeable in most cases. HoleInTheSky
If I was a 360 owner, I'd probably just move to Xbox One (no point jumping ship now). The primary reason I bought a PS4 was familiarity, then as already mentioned, exclusives (in this case Sucker Punch) Edited February 11, 2015 by HoleInTheSky
yakprince
Might as well go with the console most of your friends have, & or the console you like the game line-up the most. Malibu454, Heists and EvilFiend
PoeticWhisper
If you're coming from 360, go with the One. It's likely your friends have made the switch and honestly outside of graphics Xbox One has more to offer in terms of userface, activity and your xbox profile and gamerscore will carry over. Minecraft will only be $5 to upgrade, plus they usually get DLC and updates first. If you're not into huge singleplayer masterpieces (seeing as you only want MC, AW, and GTA) then get the One. You won't even care to notice the graphics difference when you own the One either. It still looks amazing. EvilFiend
get what you think fits you best. Do you have like 50 xbox games? then get a xbone so youcan sell your old console but keep games. Do you not care about your old games or anything other than "graphics" (lmao) then get a ps4. Asking such a question on a forum is not a genius idea like you think it is. Its just fanbois and gurls crying that their preferred system is better. Each has its own advantages and disadvantages thats why you need to come up with your own solution
Malibu454
Well if ya stick with xbox you can still use your live gold acct and wont have to pay another 50bucks for a ps plus acct. Also you'll still have the same friends and can still play with them on 360 too.

AussieAustin
I'd stick with Xbox mate. The always on feature on Xbox One is awesome and i don't think the PS4 has that yet.
gtuned
It's tough choice tbh. With 360 to One, your account transfers over and all that, and Minecraft will be cheaper if you already own it, but if you really want a PS4, it might be worth switching. Try a demo one at a Gamestop or something, see how you like it. I personally like the PS4 better, the Console UI is cleaner and nicer, and not so chock full of ads like the One's. They both run about the same, and the graphical comparison from PS4 to One isn't major, but holy hell, going from Previous gen to next is like upgrading from a N64. GamesBoy316
There's bound to be a console war pretty soon in this thread. However, in my opinion, I would say the PS4. But anyway, what console are your friends playing on? If all of your friends are playing on the PS4, then you should go to the PS4. Same thing with the Xbox One. Furry_Monkey
There's some misinformation in this thread already. Neither the Xbone or PS4 are backwards compatible, so if you want to play your 360 games you're gonna have to keep your 360.

Rammer2k
Rule 1. Don't buy a new console for just one game. Think about all the future games you might want to play, and go from there, unless of course you're rich, then get both. Both systems have their pros, and cons.
