A_Irish_Fella
hello, im new to the gta 5 forum and relatively new to the master race, just having built my 1st pc a few months ago, my first question is can i run it my pc specs are fx 6300 @4.7ghz r9 280x 8gb ddr3 i would love to run it at 1080p full settings but i dont know if my cpu could handle some of the more cpu intensive settings at ultra. Now for a giggle, it just came to me tonight while browsing the web, gta 5 is going to be huge, and turns out it requires a whopping 65gb!!! Now ladies and Gents have a look at my internet speed at its fastest.... I think, all going well if i buy it by release date i should be online gaming with you guys in about 2 or 3 months And i dont have a dvd drive so cant buy a physical copy, and for everybodys information it takes me 30minutes or more to download 180mb file aarrrrrrrhhh! REDDICE
Buy it retail
DotExE0
I think it'd take 7-8 days to download it. Anyways, he can't buy retail as he doesn't have a dvd drive, buuut you could try that and then ask a friend to copy the DVD content to an external HDD and then manually copy the setup to your PC. daformer
No you cannot run it. You at least need a AMD FX 8350 and 2 GTX 980 for 1080P/30FPS

Raz33R
Okay ^^ Sorry I'm a bit rusty in detecting sarcasm. OT: You won't run it in maxed out settings 1080/60FPS but you could run it mid-high 1080P and for your internet speed i'd suggest buying it retail, I download maximum 800kb/s - 1mb/s on steam and I dont wan't to let my PC download it 2-4 days straight (electricity bill is up the hill then) Edit: And the requirements can change. If it stays until the release you're good to go for Mid-High 1080p / 40-60 fps. Depends if its a good-made PC "Port" Edited February 11, 2015 by Raz33R
Earleys
Also, if you don't want to download it an would decide to buy a retail version, buying a phisical disc drives is really cheap nowadays. So you can always buy one. Pretty sure you can even buy an 'external' disc drive which you can connect with USB, to ease things up a bit.
K20
thats tooooo slow... gonna take weeks. best you buy the 562354 discs that will come with it. Edited February 11, 2015 by K20
SkapeGote
Why not just buy a DVD drive?. I am not sure where you live, but in Canada I can get one for like $15 to $20 bucks. Hell when I built my PC the place I bought the parts threw it in for free because I bought everything there. Skape
Red Hat
I'll be getting it retail. :-| I've got a 4mbps connection, tough I get 5mbps all the time. But since it's limited to 10GB per month, I don't think I'll be able to buy it off Steam and download it.
southparkmayor
Yes OP, you can most likely run it 1080p, high-ultra settings no msaa, at 60 fps. As for getting it, I recommend you pre-load it if steam has that option, and wait for it to download. or get retail.
eastriver
You'll easily run it... but downloading it will take quite a while... probably near a week maybe more. If upgrading your internet package is a viable choice... I'd do it now! I think you'd literally have to go out of your way to get a 1mbps connection in 2015. Your best chances are with that internet connection if the game is up for pre-load at least a week before... and even then you'll be downloading the game day and night, which might effect your normal internet activity such as browsing the internet. When your downloading that game best you'll be able to do is probably browse some forums and read articles, I don't think even watching Youtube is viable (Let alone watching Youtube even when you're not downloading) Edited February 11, 2015 by IG_
A_Irish_Fella
wow thanks for all your reply's! A lot of you said i could run medium 1080p i would be happy with that but can i ask is medium 1080p on pc guna look worse than the ps4 version cus that would suck Yh my internet is awful, im in a rural area in Ireland so its the best i can get but hoping they set up fibre optic in my area soon as there was a petition in the local shop for it, youtube wise i can watch most on 360p and twitch i watch on low but if even one device is on it at the same time as me be that a phone or laptop its just ridiculous! In that situation watching a youtube video at 360p would be near impossible with all the pausing. If steam lets me download a week before hand that would be great. Thanks again guys and gals for your reply's!
chasez
If you are in UK and can afford 40 quid per month for internet, Virgin Media's 152Mbps is the way to go. By the screenshot of your internet speed, looks like you are on mobile data 3G speed, you are 10 years late for higher internet speed.
