Zello
I kinda wanted a bit more just not with Martinez maybe do a few missions in the beginning before we meet him WhiteLines, Igor Bogdanoff, Sussus Amongus and 2 others
ClaudX
I mean, even though Martinez got on our nerves the first time we met him because he's a major dick, there should've been more tension buildup between him and Vic. Give Vic an even bigger reason to hate him than, "Uhhh, Martinez told me to smuggle drugs so I did and now everything is bad. It's all your fault." Sussus Amongus, Misunderstood, WhiteLines and 4 others
X/R//
storywise, vcs feels like a 80s show, a soap opera than an epic story of a gta game. so im done complaining about it, nothing we can do but enjoy the game's positive features. like the best sunny weather to date or to death with those pastel colours, empire buildings, atleast 100 interiors etc.. PhillBellic
I would have liked more of them.
KarimNTerr
I do agree, I would've liked more involvement with the Army as Vic is a soldier himself, but despite that, I found the storyline of GTA: Vice City Stories to be really profound, breathtaking and intense, with a heartwarming ending. universetwisters
I just found it weird as to how much free range he gets when he's a soldier. He can basically f*ck around and do whatever, go wherever, etc. Drunken Cowboy and Vice City criminal
Drunken Cowboy
I mean there's only so much you can do army-wise domestically. I don't think R* was keen on creating a whole new environment for three or four missions. Would have been neat, though. Maybe like Mafia II, just one tutorial mission or something. universetwisters
Or just have the rest of the map locked outside the army base and have all those missions before getting kicked out take place in the base. Sorta like Bully's first chapter and how it took place strictly on the school campus. But yeah, from what my brother & father told me, military life is too structured to have the open world freedom you'd expect to have in GTA. PhillBellic
There was a lot of Artistic License - Military taken with this game.
KarimNTerr
Anyway, I just think Rockstar didn't want to focus on the Army to not unnaturalize the concept of the series, in which you are a criminal, and not a decorated war hero. The game's theme is already unique in its own way, and that's a thing I really love of GTA: Vice City Stories. universetwisters
...and not a decorated war hero... To be fair, not every solider becomes a war hero. My dad was a paratrooper during the later parts of the 1970s and he never saw any combat or got any decorations, other than a Jungle Expert patch, and even then, everybody who went through jungle warfare training back then got that patch. I'll stop this lengthy tangent now, but just either or, because you're in the army, it doesn't mean you see combat. Not unless the Australian-American war was happening around that time and Vic would've fought in it.

Cool, I think even a "Jungle Expert" patch is hard to achieve, much respect for your father! Lemoyne outlaw
yea i wish there were more missions in the army. it was fun and there should have been more variety in missions like a training course and stuff.
Zello
Some Army missions would have made a great tutorial (learn to drive, use a gun, etc)
UshaB
Rushed. I like the whole army background feel.
Lethal Vaccine
I was 41.30% done with VCS while I was still in the Army. Army was secluded from the objectives I was doing, thus it was a long drive back and forth. Didn't like that... I was glad to move into 101 Bayshore Avenue asap considering that Safehouse is on the main drag of the West Island. So is The Compound, basically, too.
