What happens when heists aren't what you expect?

So every game has their complainers, the worst I've ever seen has been in gtav. Yes I know you paid for an incomplete game and you were given broken promises blah blah blah what could you possibly do with your life now??? But in all seriousness, what will you do when heists aren't what you thought they would be? I think too many people aren't understanding how heists are going to work and think that heists will make them multimillionaires. The truth is if you see how subtle everything is on gtav with missions, content, and customization, heists will be just as much a subtle part of the game that was going to just be as seamless and ordinary as jumping into a mission or race.

I dont see the hype around heists , it has been way to long of a wait now an no matter what they release will be a let down after such a long wait , an yes i dont think the payouts will be much either , i reckon about 40-60k for each player

If you think these are the worst complainers in gaming, you dont know gaming or you dont get around much. This is hardly complaining. Fact is Heists were and are a big part of this gamesm appeal. That they have been promised for 2 years (since they were a big selling point all the way up to release) and are still unseen, is slid reason to complain, from a consumer point of view. I cant understand you people, who dont understand it for what it is. Its "gamers" like yourself, who make it possible for companies like R* to promise something and never deliver it. Not just you and not just now. We "gamers" have seen this coming for a couple years. Games like BF and CoD, that show one thing and deliver half assed shoddy products, but they still sell a couple million copies and fanbois get on their knees in appreciation, instead of demanding what they paid for. Though to be realistic, its 90% kids on moms credit card, so what do they care if its only half of what they were promised?

As for how heists will be and what if it doesnt meet expectations....On one hand, its been years in the making so one could expect it to blow them away. I mean after this many push backs, should it not be something awe inspiring? Then again on the same note, with such high expectations developed by R*, can it ever meet what the masses are expecting? Personally I have long forgotten about expecting anything, except that no matter what they release, not everyone will be happy with it and as with all games will have its share of complainers.

I seriously have to laugh at the ones, who complain about the complaining. If you think this or any game is beyond reproach, you aren't a "gamer". Nothing is perfect, even if you disagree.

Nothing new, I suppose. I wouldn't be bothered if it caused me to lose interest in the game, though, because I play this game way too much anyway. But I've been really enjoying the photography part of it lately, so taking pictures and just enjoying being creative with the freedom of the "open-world-ness" would probably be the single things keeping me playing.

Well after 18 months of waiting, i'm pretty sure they are going to amaze us, if not, well simply put GTA is not for you.

If people don't complain, games will just simply not get better. Rockstar has been down this path before, with a previous title.

Rockstar creates the masterpiece that is Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas - the amount of things to do, the replay value.. It was simply unfathomable. It made a print in the gaming industry that would go down in history as something we should use as a reference for any future $60 titles we buy on PS2. It set some really high standards. Arguably, it was necessary. Nobody should spend $60 for a weak-ass game. That's what the great San Andreas told us.

And then comes the HD universe with GTA IV, and what happened? They let us down. Some might consider that as a matter of personal taste, and that maybe I should be more appreciative, but is it not appreciative to push them to achieve the standards of the past? People complained, and guess what we got next?

We got back Rockstar's addictive ambitious vision with GTA V. Not perfect, heists still aren't here, but at least we can fly planes and customize our rides. People bitched and moaned about IV - so good things happened.

Keep bitching, that's all I can say.

On-topic: What the hell do you know about the Heists? Did you work on the game? OP you're talking out of your ass and you're trying too hard to rile an already careless community about an age-old subject.

More like $15-20k.That would be less than a high level contact mission , heists will surely pay a bit more than missions

I feel that heists will have a higher single payout, but I wouldn't be surprised that for the time it will take to do the heist, you could grind your favorite contact mission for probably around the same amount. Heists will just be way more fun.

Oh yea! Heists with the hype and long delays has all the makings of an epic disappointment. First of all heists needs to be released and we all know when that is,right?. What's the odds in Vegas for another delay and or that last gen is not included after all?

Gta 5 off and online is fun and all i want is significant new content . Gta 5 has been out for 17 months without a major dlc. Gta 4 after 18 months had 2 big dlc's released. Also there was but one year between gta3 and vice city and then gta san andreas 2 years later.

This fall gta5 will be a 2 year old game. We need some big dlc's with new maps and playable characters in single player.

Not a team player ,so couldn't care less, they will be a let down,as there is too much expectation and fervour around heists.I for one don't have this chip on my shoulder that we have all been let down due to heists. This game has been awesome for me...

I'd be totally alright with that to be honest... but I think it'll be higher.

during the teaser trailer there's a point where you can see 'the take' written on a planning board... skip to 2:24 and you can see that particular heist will pay 670k... between 4 people that's not bad.

Whether heists are great or not doesn't really matter to me. I'm pretty happy with how the game is (although I have quibbles like everyone else). Heists can't make the game any worse. It's pretty good already but they might just make it better.

I never understood the hype on Heists....

I don't remember seeing anything about them in the trailer, I completed SP mode before I ever heard anything about Heists

So I never expected anything, I would have rather R* add 50 missions over the last year than spend time on these mythical Heists

I'll play the game and enjoy it as I do now, just with a little more content.

Tbh they've been so over hyped and long running they'll never live up to peoples expectations. I see many people complaining in the future.

I just enjoy killing and pillaging. If they come great, if not no worries. It's not like we have ever been promised anything in life and never got it(i.e freedom of speech, affordable health care, or heist in GTA 5)

They did add, what they call missions. Something like 100 DMs have dropped, a whole LTS DLC as well. Thats what R* calls missions. Why I dont really understand, but apparently a mission creator would mean people would earn more money doing them and fewer Card sales would occur. R* is a strange, very strange, company. Started out great, went down the EA path.

Wish the heists would be something that other players not involved with the heist, could still interfere and make is a failure for the team attempting the heist. Or, the team gets away from the cops. They have the booty from the heist.. Only to lose it to some other player(s) that take em out and steal the booty..

Hell yeah, that would be dope...

I wouldn't say they went down the EA no company is that stupid or giant pieces of sh*ts to become the next EA, heists will probably disappoint a lot of people who were hyped up for it but me? Meh I don't care if doesn't live up to any expectations or hype, if heists can pay me in the 100,000 to a million dollar range, I'll be fine with that.

Alright well maybe not directly down that path, but sometimes I wonder if they aren't far from it.

On a brighter note. I did hear some news today regarding heists, but can't confirm if any of it is actual. However it does sound reasonable so I will share. What I hear is that at release there will be 6 Heists. A couple of these are said to take quite a while to complete and all of them are in a way multiple missions leading up to a finale job. Re: Story mode, where in you play three roles and complete a number of more "mission like" objectives before doing the actual "Job".

On the pay and play aspects, Ive been told that it will consist of (again) story mode style of one player being the ring leader, paying for supplies, etc. and then determining before hand what the cuts will be for different jobs. This being the case, I can see the payout being in the 100's of thousands. Considering the lead player will have to invest and then get a disproportionate cut.

This as Ive said is just something I heard. Sounds good though and hopefully its close to what we get. Especially the longer aspects of the job. 20 minutes is fine, but 2 hours would be better. I also heard and am reticent to repeat due to its extremity, that 2 of these jobs will take a day or more to complete. That would be interesting, but I cant see how it could be true. Take it all for what you will. What do I know.

My theory on the payments for the heists are this, first heist will probably pay close to 100,000$, it will probably give us 82,000$ (3 other members get this amount not the heist leader) you can see this amount of payment in the heist trailer so I am assume this is the beginner's heist. The rest will probably increase in payment as they get harder and more expensive for the heist leader, hell the 6th and last heist could have us steal close to 10 million dollar and the cut could be 1 to 2 million for each of the heist members obviously the heist leader gets more, maybe like 3 to 4 million.
