Mission Payouts

Miss Malevolent

I bought my Buzzard before the billionaire days.

So yes...it's more than made back it's money for me.

I mean we have played these missions literally hundreds of times each. Even when the mission payouts were more diverse...and not this overwhelming sameness that we have now.

$200...hell one bullet from your heavy sniper rifle is $87...you'll spend a hell of a lot more using ammo than a Buzzard.

If some has alredy mentioned this, this my bad. But let's keep in mind the ammo.

If you intend to stay stocked on ammo, then buying back the amount you spent in a mission is essentially subtracted from the payout. Most of the time tho, it's relatively insignificant... That is, unless we are talkin bout RPGs.

I've noticed people play RR and use like 8 rockets, and I'm like .__. Wow. And then turn around and wanna sit for 10 min "so we can get extra cash bro" smh. Here's the deal

Rockets x2 = $1000

Rockets x8 = $4000

And it does NOT take 8 rockets to do that mission. If you doin that mission for fun with glitched money, I guess like, who cares.

But for those who are trying to make money, just keep that mind. Over using expensive tools can subtract from very bonuses you are trying to earn. A minor point, but one that is to be considered if you are trying to maximize profit.

3 reasons I'm still playing GTA:O

1. It's fun, I like the sandbox gameplay. Next Gen kicked it up a notch for immersion.

2. Mission payouts were normalized. I can pick and chose missions for fun now, and not grind the same 2 or 3 mindlessly as the only way to get decent cash. It's nice if 'harder' missions pay more, certainly, but $$ for time spent is more important to me.

3. Buying the Buzzard.

I bought my Buzzard with non-glitched* cash made from steady hours grinding missions post-normalization (*and maybe a Dubsta or 2 ahem). It's more then paid for itself already. Not strictly in terms of mission payouts, efficiency, ammo vs Pegasus cost, etc... but in the sheer fact that even with #1 and #2 above, I was starting to get burned out on GTA and doing misisons. The Buzzard opened up a whole new world and I'm running more missions then ever before.

Even if payouts are slightly less....it's still 100% more then what I'd get if I said "I'm tired of this, I'll wait for Heists and play something else". It's a fun option, and after countless hours grinding missions since 2013 sometimes I just feel like blowing the crap out of Mendoza and his goons with a freaking gunship. Many missions are less aggravating with air mobility and firepower anyway. So I'm probably doing some of the more annoying, problematic jobs more often.

So yeah, maybe i haven't 'paid off' the Buzzard yet. But since buying it I've made millions more through missions (& Dubstas lol), bought more fun toys and had fun doing it, so it's all good.

missions? whats that?

serious question!

It's a feature implemented by Rockstar where you can earn money in-game.

I use the buzzard for most missions so the current payout is fine with me.

...and? Speeding through missions as fast as possible with an armed air vehicle makes money faster than by not using it?

I don't speed thru them. I use the buzzard to save money.

Have you saved the cost of the buzzard?

cost of buzzard GTA$1.75mil

avg payout GTA$17.500

misssion required to pay for Buzzard 100

i'm sure it's paid for itself

AHA! But did you factor in the $200 cost for calling Pegasus every mission? :O DUN DUN DUN!

200X100=20000

Gotta do another 2 missions before it pays for itself ;)

statrs thread about mission scaling being broken after new system was implemented months ago...

Turns into buzzard or not to buzzard thread.

OT. buzzard is more than a fun mode of transport its a tool.

You want the job done right the first time? Use the right tool

Rockstar could easily make a better mission payout system if they were willing to put some effort into it. Off the top of my head, I can think of a few things like your accuracy: better accuracy should equal better pay. Speed: the faster you complete the mission the more you should get paid because people don't pay you to be slower, they pay you to do the job right and fast. How much you contribute: more kills during the mission or most of the objectives completed by you should give you a better pay out. These changes would also make mission "AFK'ers" obsolete.

I bought my buzzard with legit money, it payed for itself in a week, and I bought it after the mission payouts got switched to what they are presently... my tank on the other hand, I almost regret buying it right now, doesn't serve me much use, allright for a couple missions I guess, but not enough to make it worth it.. I also don't troll, so.

as for the mission payouts, I'm not sure what I think about it... I mean, it was completely outta whack before, mostly anyway... now, they're a bit too balanced...

difficulty, rank of unlock, speed it's completed at, how much of the work you did etc... should all have a direct influence on payouts.

and the length of the mission in general should be more important than how long it takes you to do a mission.. the way it is now doesn't make much sense to me.

basically.. efficiency and difficulty should be the key factors IMO.

Given the vast array of Statistics R* record, this should not take any of R*s experienced Developers long to implement...

1. Expand the SP coding that captures all of this to include GTA Online so the appropriate values can be extracted at the end of an Online Mission

2. Determine an appropriate payout function (involving whichever parameters are chosen) using multiplicative factors for simplicity.

3. Implement a series of Case functions to determine the value of each multiplier based on the values handed to the Case functions (no different to there discretised payout intervals).

4. Determine the Value of the Payout function.

5. Award the Payout to the Player.

The most programming I have ever done is VBA for Excel and provided I had the Accuracy parameters etc passed to me I could Implement 2 - 5 in Excel inside a few hours or less.

I guess R* wanted to go for absolute simplicity.

Yeah the payouts should be based upon what singleplayer mission scores are like. You should get the same thing in online missions and paid accordingly to your performance.

It has paid for itself. And it nearly guarantees success in any mission. Even solo.

If you were good in missions you wouldn't need a Buzzard and wouldn't need to pay a steep price for one.

OK, that's the dumbest comment today!!!

and it's not a steep price given that you will have millions soon after buying it

And if you don't buy it you'll keep the millions and get more if you keep doing missions.

proving once again that you can fall out of a well.......

I bought my Buzzard when hit I level 43 aprox 2 weeks after the GTAO launched. I didnt buy a super car,I had a free Elegy and a 4 car garage.

I saved for the Buzzard and didn't spend money on other things.

I'm now lvl 325 (2 toons combined) and my stats say I've made $225,000,000 in missions

using $17,500 as average pay out (conservatively high) I've completed 12,857 missions

assuming just a $500 savings in amo per mission ( conservatively low) I've saved $6,428,571 :p

not to mention how much faster I was able to rank up....

If the payout is based on each's performance, I'm sure there will be mission trolls to kill other players and get bonus for themselves.

And if there's a payout penalty for killing friendly, I'm also sure there will be trolls who deliberately commit suicide by letting himself killed by our car.

... and then assholes say "this is gta and this is how we should play the game."

Why does Simeon pay you the same if you deliver a car to him without a scratch when you can wreck the damn thing and turn it into scrap metal on wheels and get the same result?

Is that true of the High Priority Vehicle too? Did I really waste all that time trying to drive carefully when I used to do them?

How does someone do that? you mean when you try to run him over and he doesn't move?

Rooftop rumble pays great $$ if you do in the correct way.

People always chase the document car down and get the doc as fast as possible.

If you actually follow the car to it's destination, you can kill everyone there, and collect a lot more $$ and RP.

Plus you dont have to worry about blowing up the car because the driver get's out of it. Just stab him with a knife.

Just leave.....dont come back until you've grown out of that mission. Grown folks have matters to discuss.

Low rank missions give around a max of $18k to 19k, middle ranked mission around $22k, the mission that paid out the most for me are lester missions like american exports, docks to stocks 1 & 2, with 3 or 4 players they give around $27k to $29,250 spending 15 mins on it.

And for RP,I Do check out time, you need to kill around 175 cops and waste 15 mins to get around 9,300 RP,Using a tank is faster, if you spend at least 10mins killing cops you will get a chunk of RP, You get a max of 10,008 RP if you are playing with a friend and crew members get slightly more RP.

When you and him drive, he'll get past you and bailed his car. You will be credited for killing him.

Or annoy you by taking the objective so you don't have any other way but to kill him and submit the objective.

I like it that low-level missions give roughly the same payout as higher level ones. I am no masochist who thinks I should have to choose between making money by playing the same one or two missions over and over on one side and actually having fun by being able to choose from all available missions on the other. If a level 10 mission pops up that I like to play every now and then I can do that and still get a decent payout.

And I have 10 millions at level 260 and I didn't buy a Buzzard neither I plan to buy one. I prefer to do missions on the ground. I'm good at missions. I don't need one. However I bought a lot of cars and three garages so I would have a lot more.

Not all missions you use a Buzzard and there are missions where you can spend less than 200 in ammo. For example, each Assault Shotgun round costs around 20 dollars.

As far as I can tell, the lower missions cap fairly low, and highest levels cap around 23k. Rank 40 jobs cap at 20k or so, and get less the lower rank you go.

Considering a 4 person lobby and quick job selects, the payouts are fine. Better than they used to be and is actually worth it to do a wider variety of missions.

People need to stop being so damn greedy, and wanting it 'all for nothing', and 'right now'.
