So I didn't sleep tonight due to some work on PC plus working on my meet...so I'm going to bed for 2-ish hours. If I'm late you'll know why. I put my alarm but I have no idea what sleeping Tick will do: will he wake up and refreshed for the meet as I plan or whisper in the dark, "f*ck it" and go back to bed as I expect?

Please do not wait for me - If I'm not online 10 minutes before meet time please give my spot up.

Sanchez Olympics Feedback & Pictures - April 4th, Saturday
2:30PM PDT//3:30PM MDT//4:30PM CDT//5:30PM EDT//10:30PM BST

Feedback:

Right, strap in because this is going to be a long one.

The meet started a bit late but it wasn't apparent as we all met up with one another at the outdoor running track in some school's background. Objects lying around were used as jumps to pass the time while Yello got everyone in the lobby. With a list almost complete, I was surprised to see only 7-8 players in the lobby. No issues as I've had some of the best meets in small groups. Over time I realized that this group wasn't the right one for this meet. Yello, which I'm purely observing just from the amount of activities we did, worked his ass off. No, seriously, his ass has fallen off from the work he's done. He made multiple activities in Content Creator - granted, some of them were simple ramps and others were a generic race but other activities showed that work was put in. I just feel bad that Yello's work was met with a crowd that couldn't contain themselves; killing one another, blowing up vehicles and other things that would of been a ban if this was a more enforced meet. The problem was that Yello calls this an event so people think it's a special occasion. It is and isn't. First, it's a special occasion as an event always has more planning than a car meet. It isn't an event because people never behave like they should. Hell, they behave more when it's the routine car meet format because they know what to do and what not to do. That brings me to my next point: rules.

I'm not sure if Yello stated any rules as he's a bit of a quiet guy compared to louder, annoying players in the lobby (example: me) but the lack of any stated rule made this event a planned freeroam session. At one point someone fired a weapon when they clearly shouldn't, killing the host and making the long wait for regrouping even longer. Despite having his plans ruined, Yello didn't scold the player in any way. Now I know this is a game but if you're going to sign up to a planned event that someone took the time to make, the least you can do is not f*cking shoot the host...or even use any weapons when the activity doesn't require one. Keep in mind there were a few activities that revolved around killing other players such as fight club and a deathmatch yet the killing still flowed into freeroam while heading to the next activity. It gets really frustrating for those that are ready to move on. Yello definitely needs to assert himself - he wasn't talked over as we had an understanding of when he spoke but to me he wasn't seen as the host. I saw Yello more as another player who had notes written down. Not all is bad, though...

When people weren't killing one another and making a 3 hour meet longer than what it should of been, I've met some amazing and memorable people. I've seen a new face, Sturridge, which I sadly didn't get to talk to much. Seeing Yello,MTB, and Troops again was great! Brought along a friend of mine named Stellar who's new to the forums and hopefully got the meet virus. Lastly, the raging Magnum made this meet more fun than he'll ever realize. Sorry if I've missed anyone. Oh, Steve! But he showed up late so screw him (not in that way...or maybe in that way?)But yeah...the crowd was great but it wasn't for this meet. I recommend Yello finds more hardcore Sanchez fans to sign up and to promote this event as such; for the hardcore Sanchez fans only.

The Content Creator races were great. The hillclimb was my favorite and was very well done. The triathlon was amazing and should definitely return but with a bit more variety of the course and offering different, more amazing views. Rooftop jumps and jump with a parachute at a certain point? Oh, which reminds me of a triathlon-ish event we did where we raced to Mount Chiliad and jumped off the top, turning right and meeting Steve who joined late. That was an amazing way to finish the night off...but it didn't end on that amazing note. Yello surprised us with a deathmatch which luckily went well so it worked out. Overall Yello probably knew we had a special group yet made the most of what he had. Now don't go thinking that I hated this meet or the group I got stuck with - there were a few times that made me dislike the event due to the others but the moments that made me laugh out loud uncontrollably overshadowed the bad times immensely.

Pointing a finger isn't nice,
but these shots are!

Pictures:

First off, these were done in a race format thus the snapmatic isn't enabled (use deathmatch or capture, Yello!) so most pictures will be random antics or freeroam activities. The jump challenge isn't pictured so here are the winners as voted by the lobby:

3rd place: MTB
2nd place: Troops
1st Place: Magnum

I've trained hard to become an Olympic athlete and while I didn't win the beauty pageant award, I won the "Olympian" award! Go me!
0_0.jpg

I mistakenly put MTB's name here as the winner for "Best Sanchez". Is the person below you? Please tell me so I can put your name here!
0_0.jpg

The athletes are determined to win and will let nothing stand in their way - not even pedestrians!
0_0.jpg

A little race took place to see which of these two were faster - the crowd loved it!
0_0.jpg

This just in: the crowd didn't love it as the crowd is dead.
0_0.jpg

This man had nothing to hide! I was disappointed his pants were still visible:
0_0.jpg

So here you have it, world; your 2015 Olympian Team!
0_0.jpg

Meet Reggie "Hard Nut" Jackson - an undefeated wrestling champion:
0_0.jpg

A new contender approaches! "Hard Nut" plows into him hard!
0_0.jpg

Oh, what a turn of events! 13 times winner has just been defeated! Who's next?!
0_0.jpg

"Ah, f*ck that!"
"Is he dead?"
"I just sh*t myself."
0_0.jpg

Out of nowhere, Brian "Big Bull" Balosky jumps in and surprises the new winner!
0_0.jpg

"You're not worth my time. Now go iron that suit, you loser."
0_0.jpg

And that was the last time "Big Bull" ever drank something without a straw:
0_0.jpg

A bus was provided to bring the team to the next event but was soon hijacked by one of the defeated athletes in the wrestling championship:

An event here and there until we hopped on our bikes to cross the country:
0_0.jpg

We kept going until day arrived...and more:
0_0.jpg

"Hey pretty girl, you looking for some fun?"
0_0.jpg

That guy hasn't seen her face. has he?
0_0.jpg

You can see waiting for invites were boring...but fun! Watch as this man, on the hood of a truck, teleports to another one simply by crashing into it:
0_0.jpg

Ta-da! We were all amazed for a good minute:
0_0.jpg

Turns out he wasn't allowed to drive due to unpaid parking tickets so he found smart ways to get around such as waiting on a bike on the beach - legend has it that he's still there to this day:
0_0.jpg

Gent Discussion: "My, this was not how my diurnal course was projected."
Real Muthaf*ckin' Talk: "f*ck!"
0_0.jpg

So we had a few issues with the bikes...a very barrel-roll heavy plane was taken:
0_0.jpg

We ended near this quiet little camping spot...
0_0.jpg

Until fire ants took over!
0_0.jpg

They even drove their motor-home in the water, those insects!
0_0.jpg

Here's something to fuel your nightmares but to also transition to our next event:
0_0.jpg

While hard to see, this was the new arena for our wrestling championship. Many of the athletes were unsure if the Olympic Association knew that our trainer was holding illegal fights:
0_0.jpg

In one corner: The Top Hats!
0_0.jpg

In the other: a bunch of dudes that always look shock when I take a picture of them!
0_0.jpg

Moorehead appears! He came in, "wham!" "blam!" and "whoop!" us until we stopped:
0_0.jpg

The unreliable transport services provided by the Olympic Association was getting worst. Here is my driver on a bike:
0_0.jpg

"Don't worry, it's a shortcut!"
0_0.jpg

"Ah, here lies my two-wheel machine that I've scoured around for!"
0_0.jpg

Man, at this point I had no clue what was going on:
0_0.jpg

And so did the cops:
0_0.jpg

An all-over-the-place event was soon completed and our athletes retreated to a nice and relaxing hotel:
0_0.jpg

But I had one last challenge to propose...
0_0.jpg

THE BUM TRAIN! We all win.

Well that's the Olympics over for another 4 years. :)

I hope the Olympians who took part enjoyed the events.
I'll post the results and hopefully some video tomorrow. (if the laptop behaved itself)

First off Cactus, that was a very well thought out meet and i could definitely see a lot of thought and planning went into that. I had a bloody good time, great laughs were had as most meets with you guys. It was very very new to the scanchez and still am, i brought it a few hours before the meet and too it around the block to LSC modded it fully and parked it in my garage (im sure you all could see that) Its the first bike ive owned as i have always sucked riding but i had a ball, im sure i took the record for falling off the most too!!! First meet i nailed back flips on command and even got a 3rd in the stunt comp with a 360.

While i do agree with it being a little all over the place tick, i think that was good in most places. Sometimes a bit confusing but that in no way relates to Cactus's planning that was all of our fault with all the mucking round in the middle. I do find that sort of thing happens in the smaller meets and it does entertain everyone more and if it was a full lobby i think the guns would have stayed away and people would have been a bit more controlled. There was definitely a few times it got frustrating though and less mucking about could have made the mini games more enjoyable but all in all i really enjoyed it

P.S Tick ya credited me for the Best Bike however thats not me or my bike :-) Thanks though and hope ya enjoyed your ride ;-P

Nooooo! A mistake! Right, I've added a little annotation to it to find out who won. I really hate when I screw up something, especially a name of a winner. So if you're reading this and you're the winner, please tell me. I'll fix it as soon as I can.

I do agree that the small group atmosphere made it so we were less "on the ball" and I've said that I had tons of good times in the meet so all is good. I'm just a bit disappointed for Yello. He puts a lot of thought and time for his stuff. Hell, he's the only host I know that hints at next events by posting a flashlight, a Grease logo and turns it into a game of who can guess what's next. Definitely unique.

Oh, and congrats on the bike. I personally suggest the Enduro due to looks and, in my opinion, slightly better stopping and climbing on cliffsides. Bikes are a great way to go quickly over many terrain surfaces and catching people up. Just watch out for other cars. :p

Thanks for all the feedback; i'll take the good bits and bad bits so if I do another meet, it'll hopefully be improvement.

I was a little (lot) disappointed that there were no shows. Ultimately it's only an xbox game and I obviously know there's more important things going on in peoples lives but after easily 20+ hours working on it, it was a little bit...oh, ok.

Anyhoo,

Here's the highlights and thank you again to all that took part.

Great vid, Yello! Does your capture card not pick up game chat? Bit bummed we didn't hear what was being said. For me, the best part of a meet is the chatter. Would of loved to hear how stupid I sound and Magnum raging. I keep telling this but the best meets I've had were with a small group. Seeing how you had...7-8 activities (which you could of split up for another meet if you had a larger group), all activities lasted a good amount of time. Could you imagine doing the jumping one for 30-40 minutes due to watching 16 players jump 3 times? I'm actually glad that we had a small group as it was a more personal thing - I had genuine conversations and learned a few things about people. People open up when they can distinguish each voice in the lobby. You shouldn't worry about a turn-up. Yes, it sucks people were a no-show when you spent so much time working on these but for those that joined had a blast (sometimes literally)!

Great event, Yello. Don't let the lack of attention bring you down. Many will look back to this thread and dream of your meets while those who couldn't or didn't join will see how different and unique these were. There's this guy, De (hi De!) who had a Scavenger Hunt meet. He had 2-3, actually. He stopped due to him putting too much work in and only 4-5 people showing up to each. He was pretty much dead inside when he saw how many players showed up but for me I thought it was the best event ever and to this day still think it's the most underrated event. If my meets make one person have a great time I'll keep doing them. You should keep that in mind, Yello. Some of us see your hard work and dedication. ;)

Not sure if the capture card will record the chat, probably does but not really looked. Thank you for your comments.
If there were more people in the lobby then yeah, I would have split the events into 2 events.

Once more video for you from the event. The second part makes me laugh each time I see it. :)

Obviously drag racing as the band is called Racey, there's a yellow square representing "get set" and red light which means "are you ready?" I can safely predict that the next clue will contain some green such as a leprechaun or Tom Green, meaning "go!"

Why am I the only one guessing? What do I win if I correctly guess the next event? What the f*ck happened to the Event section to be this slow with new comments?

The Sanchez Experience [TSE] has been updated with the previous event, The Sanchez Olympics.

If you haven't experienced a Sanchez meet you can see what we get up to.

If you like what you see, please keep checking back as the next event will appear on this forum and the [TSE] site soon.

Please don't be put off by thinking the [TSE] is a 'closed group'. I would love anyone and everyone to join in and just have a good time. :)

Is it simply sanchez racing ???

Tick, I feel your pain with the events section :(

I felt angered when the forum was changed. I agree that a change was needed, as keeping up with goings on in the lobby's and meet up section was impossible and still is. To many good meet ideas and stuff is missed. I still feel that splitting the lobby's and meet ups section into formats would have been best. Simply Microsoft and Sony. Or even further a split into the different consoles.

I think the Events and Find A Meetup section needs some clarification. Some big meet threads are still in Find A Meetup yet our threads got moved here. I would love to bother a mod with a message asking what the difference is between Events and Meetup. I always thought Meetup was for one-off meets while Events were where bigger, established threads had meets. A lot of people still dwell in Find A Meetup without knowing about the Events page. So those wanting to join meets just go to Find A Meetup instead of waiting 2 weeks for an established meet with more chances of success. To compete we'd need to host a meet every 2-3 nights but that would be a typical car meet - something anyone can do.

Really pisses me off mostly due to the fact that I'm not meeting new people. While I love the group we got here, I feel the 360 players are lacking...and in the wrong section! Hard working hosts aren't getting the attention they deserve while other hosts who just post a time and date reap the players. Sometimes I wish the mod team would have a guy who loves car meets and understands the whole culture of it. Same applies to roleplay, etc. To have "general" mods isn't the best, to be honest.

I was reading the rules on the 'Events' and 'Find a Lobby & meetups' as i was contemplating putting feelers out for another series of 'Events' I was toying with and while it should go under 'Events', i think, it's could fit in both.

Anyhoo, check out my video! :)
