Coast To Coast - Sanchez Variant

Feedback:
Steve's "Around The Map" concept mixed with Yello's love for the Sanchez made this particular journey interesting, fresh and quick. Trucks weren't blocking routes and MMI wasn't getting called every 5 minutes - everyone offered rides to those in need and getting grouped up was easy and fast due to the Sanchez's speed and climbing ability. The pace was just amazing. If you join Steve's "Around The Map" you know you're doing it for the novelty of it - doing it for saying, "yeah, I did this massive meet with this awesome group!" I think the Sanchez variant hosted by Yello should be in that list of special Around The Map versions (when will the "minivan" version be done, Steve?!). I'm hoping the Sanchez version becomes a regular thing as we made stops to Content Creator races that were a blast and by-passed areas that would surely make us lose our ride - instead opting for race respawning which was a very good idea. We also had a few recess' that were, in my opinion, in the highlight reel. Hell, if I could just host a big recess I would as the most "fun" things happen there. But it's not to say this wasn't a fun meet; I had a blast! There was no issue with anyone and every player was cool. While I'm on the topic I want to put a little message out there...

In my S.E.X (S.H.I.E.L.D Examination X) meet that I hosted 2 weeks ago, I blacklisted MagnumF4 for continued killing over a series of meets (the whole issue is discussed in my thread). I had to resort to blacklisting as I had warned Magnum three times in the past. Now I never do this as I've never met any blacklist player redeeming themselves. Add to that the fact I told Magnum I'd remove him from the list if he was helpful in a meet which is what he was in this one. I saw him getting rammed a few times and while bumps do happen and Magnum almost-angry in tone saying, "ah, what was that?", he didn't retaliate and contained himself. At one point Yello asked if anyone wanted to go first to see if the terrain was do-able and Magnum volunteered (hence the smiley face and the "good job" that I sent you, Magnum). That type of behavior should be in every meet and everyone should act like Magnum did; calm, helpful and considerate. I've removed Magnum from my blacklist - hopefully this little tap on the wrist makes you realize at how cool you were tonight. We love the Magnum that showed up tonight, please make a return for the next one!

Anyway, to keep this one short: really good time. Keep those containers in the created races! Bummed we couldn't take pictures of those but keep it in a race format. I think the only "negative" comment I could make is that I want to see more of "okay, who wants to lead this section" moments like with Magnum. Just to get people a bit more involved instead of following the leader. But 99.999% of the rest was just pure heaven. Now if you could only allow Enduros so I wouldn't have to buy a Sanchez every time...

"Welcome back to Prank Wars where we prank Steve Dogg, famed host specializing in offroad events. During recess and unknown to the group, I hid Steve's bike in that bush right behind him. Let's see what happened when he returned from recess..."


"Steve comes back and walks around this bush, looking at his minimap but unsure where the bike really is..."


"20 seconds later he finds his bike. Darn! A Cargobob would've been helpful to hoist it up in the air and make him really wonder! Maybe next time..."


Excited to get his bike, he shortly fell to which he said, "no one saw that", to which I replied, "I actually took a picture, Steve..."


And back to the event!


The trails were interesting and rock-formed jumps were my favorite obstacle:


It also was the favorite for others as our next stop had a big jump...

This man had terrible gas so we quickly left as the air was turning green:

But we quickly found the trick:

With greener sights, we were nearing the end:


Our final stop was this beach - great ending spot!


Everyone looks a little exhausted, though...why not ask each what they plan to do now?


"Well, I'm going to watch the game. It ended 3 days ago when I started this damn thing but I'm sure there's a rerun somewhere."


"I thought this was a bike ride to Burger Shot! I'm never joining these again - damn guide got lost so many times!"

Hi all,

As you probably know, I enjoy making videos (a lot!) but because of working commitment it won't be uploaded until next weekend but here's some photo's in the meantime.

Had a little fun session with Yello and some friends (Magnum, Fate, Troops, Chewie...I think I'm missing someone). Slow start with the semi-trucks with trailers going up Chiliad but the "survive longest in army base" with a category of cars for each round was a blast! By the way, any of you reading this that want to do missions. I'm always up to make some money in missions only - this session made me lose a few dollars.

After trying to get up Chiliad with a semi-truck, I gave up and went for some classic offroad vehicle:

Hard to see but there's Magnum's pink car stuck in a tree, my small safari truck also stuck by trying to help Magnum and that thing flipped on top is Troops own safari truck that got stuck by trying to help me:

Met some cool All-Stars last night - we were so focused on the games that I sadly don't remember any names! I do remember MrDark as he came in first place in every single race. A player who came time and time again in last place, almost DNF every time, should've been given first place for a race or two as the player apparently had all the car mods unlocked but no money to pay for them. So I don't know why MrDark was always the first one to cross the line and not let others go. Bragging rights? Race wins ratio? Just seems a little unfair, is all. After all, the rest of the lobby were able to agree to stop at the finish line in order to avoid triggering the end-race timer...

 

But that little issue was swept away as each race we did (some in forms of cruises, others in actual races) were fun and very entertaining. I would love to do another night of just trying out created stuff. I don't know how creative the All-Stars members are but let's just say that most races we did last night would've been what I would use to start a minigame night off or use as a filler. Nothing really stuck out but that's not a bad thing as they all blended into one another amazingly well - a flow that kept us all happy and that's not an easy thing to do. Offroading isn't my domain/specialty so I don't quite know how good these races were. I do know how content creator works and how well someone uses the tools at their disposal. I cannot stress, though, that everyone were laughing together and that's a clear sign that what you've created is good. Extremely good. So copy that format and crank out some more!

 

Yello, if you host another one of these and want me as a reviewer or simply as an attendee, I would love to join. I had such a good time and the guys (and gal!) were so cool. I didn't have the STAR crew initials after my gamertag in the lobby but they treated me as one of their own and that's what meets are all about: meeting people. Damn, I'm almost tempted to join the crew!

 

I kept notes for the races with their titles and ranked them on degree of difficulty, description, and other little things...but I won't criticize each one of them. The main point when making a game mode/race/deathmatch/anything is to have fun and I had a smile on the whole time for every created "job" we did. So if Yello hosted this on the intent to promote the All-Stars content, he chose his selection of "jobs" wisely.

 

I snapped some pictures at the start of the night and in-between lobbies. Invites by Yello were sent quickly and with no fuss. There were about 2-3 accidental kills but nothing intended. Everyone was respectful to one another and even encouraging each other when spectating or racing alongside them! If I was looking to join an offroad crew and I was let into this meet, I would've been sold to join them.

So I'm guessing that's June for next year, right?

 

Couldn't find the date anywhere...except when I watched the video (good one, by the way). Bit weird to put it in a video, if I can be honest. Not everyone wants to watch a 2 minute or even a 30 second thing just to get a date for a meet especially when they got a PC as sh*t as mine. But it does make the first post look extremely clean and that I love.
