What is your Dock to Stock method? (missions)

In what way do you approach this mission? You know, the mission where you have to break into Fort Z and "Aquire a Cargobomb" and then somehow out run the police choppers with thier Terminator 3 AI snipers. The fat ass cargobomb cant ever outrun the police choppers and if you try to land and hide to evade the stars youll be wasting your time. What I do is, I immediately land, on a public street. Get out of the cargo bomb and just let the cops kill me and waste a life. Respawn with no stars and a fresh cargo bomb and carry on. This is my fastests and less frustrating method so far, but it sucks that I have to always complete the mission with 0 lives left no matter what and a lesser payout (?).... and of course if I play the mission with randoms everybody will race to Fort Z and their deaths, wasting the 1 life so I cant use my method.

So again reader, how do you approach this mission?

Just fly as high as you can at the edge of Fort Z, until you lose your wanted level. No police choppers will come in the area, and you will have a full health Cargobob for the mission

Enter the base.
Enter cargobob to trigger next step.
Exit cargobob and fly off in the buzzard towards the mission objective.
Call pegasus for my cargobob when wanted level drops.
Complete mission.

Obviously I know not everybody has a cargobob of their own so as for other methods.
Usually I'll steal the bob and land near the railway, jack a car and hide in a tunnel or something.

Of course, a crew helps and when I'm playing this mission with crew its usually pretty quick due to the buzzards taking the heat off the bob, making it a fairly easy flight to the objective.

Go straight up over Ft Z until you lose wanted level,

You can also fly down the runway and out to Sea to lose the cops, at least then your heading to the objective, it's faster

It helps if someone gets a buzzard and can draw off the cops for you, I think that's what R* wanted us to do but most players can't figure that out.

I've never tried this. By "at the edge" are you talking about the spot where the one buzzard and two cargobobs are next to each other?

Hover in the canyons behind (N) the base, no roads and because you're lower than the terrain no choppers will spawn. I find this to be more reliable than going straight up.

This has worked every-time I have tried it usually in combination with looking backwards at the same time (although this may not be necessary).

@Remini

I Literally just get in to 1 of the 2 Cargobobs near the Buzzard (on the South East corner of FZ) and fly Upwards until the 4 Stars disappear.

anywhere over the base will prevent the choppers from spawning, I just gradually move down the runway as I climb, wanted usually drops by the time you get to the ocean

Before learning where to hover to avoid choppers spawning, I used to leave my car just outside the fort, land and outrun the cops to evade wanted level (under a bridge nearby or similar) and then go back for the cargobob. It's fairly obvious that you can't love the police choppers in the 'Bob.

A dead simple soulution for loosing the cops in the cargobob is to just put it down a little further away outside the fence behind the two buildings. Thats pretty close to the bridge. The cops will not see you there so you can just wait it out. Then the rest is a piece of cake.

Put on mask before breaking into base. Break into base, open inventory as you enter cargobob. As you fly a little past fence, stars will blink, immediatly switch to any pair of glasses, dropping wanted level to 3 stars(only one chopper to beat). If you dont lose chopper over mountains, you can lose him through the buildings in downtown L.S. Fly to destination and complete. Do this by myself all the time, fastest way I've seen it done, usually lose cops by the time I get to L.S.!!!

I get in the cargobob, land it right on the other side of the fence, get out and hide in the bushes there until the wanted level is gone.

Bushman-Actual

Have someone get a buzzard and wait for me on a nearby mountain.

Then switch choppers with them and lead the cops away in the buzzard.

Apparently I have been using an inferior method. I usually take off right away as I get in the Cargobob and head towards LS somewhere between Tongva Hills and Tongva Valley. That way I can squeeze in between the two helicopters coming in from the south before their sight cones meet. Then I just lazily zigzag between ground patrols towards Banham Canyon utilizing the expanded radar. That way wanted level usually expires before I reach Pacific Bluffs and the city. Outrunning police choppers in the Carcobob is really tricky as they are often faster than you and can fly pretty high up once they spot you.

I've thought about doing it this way before. It seems cool, but I've never tried it

Get in a cargobob. Fly it strait to the foothills in the area indicated and get out. Have a cigarette and a beer. In 45 seconds your wanted level will be gone.

Learned this from MissMalevolent after months of flying the damn CB around trying to lose the cops. Works every time.

I do this with a friend.

Fly there in a buzzard. They hover high enough for me to parachute in. Land and grab Cargobob. Mean while friends lands Buzzard in swamp on land. I take Cargobob next to them and land. They take cargobob and have no stars. I take buzzard and out run cops easily.

Have 2 people, one person gets a Buzzard, the other gets the Cargobob, swap choppers and the player with the wanted level will now be in the Buzzard. Job's a good 'un.

NB if you're playing with randoms then add a bunch of steps where they jump into the base even though you've already got a CB and then you spend 20 minutes waiting for them to stop shooting down Police choppers with their Buzzard.

I'll have to try the flying up method. What I did was fly all the way down to the port in Los Santos and hide in one of the boat hangers the one where Stocks and Scares takes place. The police Choppers can't follow you in there and are rarely able to see you. It's also to far off the beaten path for cops on the ground to follow either. Usually though I just take a buzzard and shoot down all the choppers for my teammates who grab the 'Bob.
