Gun Sounds Are Horrible...

Does anyone else think the gun sounds are flat, tinny, and unrealistic?

The pistols sound like someone bouncing a dodgeball on the ground.

The assault rifles sound like they're being played through the speakers of a GI Joe toy.

I have top notch headsets and speakers, and it's definitely GTA that sounds bad.

It's hard to describe what sounds i, and presumably many others, would like to hear. But i guess they need more clarity and depth..they just sound muddled and fake.

rockstar have never been fantastic with guns in any of their games (aside from RDR, they f*cking rocked)
but guns arent exactly the main focus in GTA games, I havent played on the new consoles yet but the sounds have improved havent they?

Their better then MW3's, Me and A Maned Wolf gave the UMP 45 the nickname Little Drummer Boy for a reason, hell all the guns in MW3 sounded like they made the sounds with a drum kit, a cheap drum kit at that. Edited by SuzukiBlaze

Honestly, is it because GTA is developed outside the US and they can't get a legitimate, controlled recording of each gun's real life counterpart?

I guess OP would like a deafening sound that you would have to wear ear protection, IRL for, because of the rate of fire

Uh, they were IN Los Angeles, designing the game Edited by CrazyRay

I've noticed that on singleplayer, using Michael's special ability, every gun sounds like a f*cking pistol. Sorry, off topic, but it pisses me off so much

Officer Ronson

Real guns can even sound fake sometimes.

Here I have a video to prove that they can even sound like f*cking paintball weps, in spoilers due to the graphic nature of the video.

I am sorry if this is off the rules but I did not have any other kind of evidence to my claim.

So basically they just needed to hang a mic out of the window.

Sound fine to me. No better or worse than any other game imo.

They sound great to me. I don't think your "top notch headset and speakers" are up to the job. I have a cheap 60W sound bar under my TV and admittedly I have the official Sony wireless headset (which is purest awesome, btw), but it sounds great on both to me.

Out of curiosity, does this spoil your enjoyment of the game in any way, or is this just a bitch & moan?

Gun sounds are something that most games are lacking on. This game is no different. That being said if you run it through a decent audio setup with a bit of bass its...adequate.

Hm, never bothered me.

I leave my chat set to everyone, so I can never hear the sounds of my guns over the, cries of rage, coming from the squeakers being wasted, by said guns.

Lol.

Yeah, because guns only exist in the US!

GTA IV had better gun sounds.

Are you serious ?GTA IV guns were terrible. I couldnt care less about gun sounds as long as they go pew pew and kill people. Besides all my gus are silenced except D50 and the bullpup shottie

Clearly something bad enough for him to want to take his slim chances trying to get away in the middle of a traffic jam with guys aimming guns at him.

Anyhow, gun sounds in video games never much bothered me. Though, I do appreciate the gun sounds of BF, Arma, and Flashpoint. I guess, when it comes to GTA V, it's that old fashion Hollywood-it-up mentality where they'd rather make things "cool" then realistic.

I like the sound of most guns, they do sound nice and loud, but I have a problem with the silenced guns, it's so weird.
